I love it when Ash speaks to the camera. He is so natural and expressive with his face and the joy in his voice. I feel the joy all the way in Australia. Keep up the wonderful job you are all doing, it’s inspirational and I wish I could come over and help out🇦🇺❤️👍🏻
Ash you are so comfortable in front of the camera. Such such a difference since the first videos I love watching the videos and seeing the progress that you all are making you’re doing such an awesome job. Thank you for sharing this with us.
It is amazing amount of work you have done with a Senior workforce. When the crew go home do you have some younger friends you could invite, they would have a lot to live up to. The crew you have now have worked so hard and accomplished so much, their work ethics are incredible. Applause, applause, applause.
Terry and Ash's family might not be 20/ 30 year olds but they have strength, and are not afraid of hard work, as well as having a great work ethic too. Well done family the paths are looking great. UTB ❤ 👍
I do think reinstating the original sun dial is a great idea. One concern I have is that you are creating a beautiful vista which extends down to the various terraced levels. I would be cautious about having anything that will grow to a great height in the middle because you could lose the grand view that you have now been opening up. Yew trees in the middle in the formal garden that grow unchecked might be too much. But of course they can be pruned and shaped. At any rate, I do love seeing the collective enthusiasm and effort set forth, and think your progress is remarkable! Kudos!
@@justinanovak8040 Right, but they have a very long lifespan. Which means it might be a problem far down the road, but it’s better to confront theoretical problems than live, looming ones.
A tribute to Tracey would be a lovely idea. She's the hardest working woman on you tube and always seems so.pleasant. I wish i.had her strength and energy.
I cannot believe some of these comments! They are doing this MAMMOTH job and folk are wittering away about a small unpainted window at the top of the chateau!!!! If it affects their ocd from thousands of miles away, be brave and don't look. They are doing a fantastic job and do not need these sort of remarks. Well done all of you, it's going to be fantastic😊
The fluidity of each person wheeling the stone to the areas is so beautiful to watch. Organization is always the plan and that's likely why it is going so well and will be finished on time. Blessing all those who are helping out.
I like the way Patrick agrees with you Ash when you’re explaining about the dividing stone to the walled garden he’s a cheeky little chappie, great work guys 😊
What a EPIC ‘just job’ you are all achieving! Unbelievable transformation taking place and so much hard work. What a joy it is to watch this ❤ Well done team ! New Zealand 🇳🇿 👏🏻👍🏻
Incredible amount of work, especially as only 2 of you are a bit younger. Go the generation that knows how to work hard, great job .. I've always said a simple sun dial as the garden will be the overall picture 😊

Wonderful progress all! Your team is better than an earth mover! The dogs are supervising so well. Very particular. I hope the rain stays away now. looking forward to seeing the future progress.
Omg, you keep saying you're only almost half done- I was like "nah, it's got to be almost done now!" Then I saw the dorne shot. Oh goodness, the walled garden is certainly bigger then it presents on camera! The family might have to extend their stay, lol
Luv your work in the garden.. it looks fantastic. What a lot of work you all have put in. Stay encouraged it’s going to be fabulous. Praying for your strength!!!!!!!! 👍
Lol. The dogs must be so confused wth you guys making hundreds of trips to and from the front to the back. But it's so impressive to see such beauty evolving from the wilderness that was there, such a short time ago. My back only lasts an hour or so these days, so hats off to the entire crew for slugging gravel for days.
You guys are amazing! I think the area in the corner and by the threshold you put in is going to be cute. I could really see in the video today how that digger is a bumpy ride.
I wasn't aware that was a sundial. I thought perhaps it was a statue base or bird bath base. You'll have to put it in a spot with full sun for it to work, I guess. I am intrigued.
Getting there, wheelbarrel by wheelbarrel ! Thank God for family who will step up and lend a hand! Such joy to see this sad and neglected garden turning into a treasure that will give joy to so many just by being in her presence! I ADORE the idea of the old sundial being spruced up and placed in the center of the garden....it's just the best option to bringing back one of the original features of the walled garden! Well done all! Carry On! Cheers!
I think you need to turn the barn into a senior's retirement home - how can you part with your aunts and uncles - would be nice to have them with you always. what about circular seating bench - anything high might impede your view.
Ash, love the t-shirt (Keep calm and crack on)! The garden is looking fantastic, you have all worked sooooooo hard. It is all beautiful and you can see life being given back to the chateaux and grounds. It was just meant to be that you all become the owners now. Love to you all xxxxx
Kudos to Ash or Terry or whoever is doing all that editing. I very much enjoyed watching the endless parade of wheelbarrow pushers coming into the yard. ❤ Look what crackin on can do!!! So much fun.
The sundial as an original feature would be great in the middle. I can't believe how much you all have accomplished in four days... Even with the storms that you have had! Wow, is it looking fantastic 😊❤😊❤!
What a stunning shot of the chateau with the looming black clouds in the background. You guys are on a toll, whew, I can just see the finished result, fountain, plants, it's going to be epic, well done all of you for amazing work your doing, and sharing this wonderful journey with us. Keep on keeping on ❤❤❤❤
How about a stone mosaic, giant compass with N, S, E, W, etc patio in the center. That way you can put a table and chairs for entertaining, or clear it for photos or even a small wedding.
It is looking superb. What a fantastic team you all are. I love watching the progress of this elegant chateau and I look forward to what will be planted in the beds
The view is so attractive you may want keep that accessible by using low garden ornaments in the circles, e.g., one fountain and two obelisks or three low urns or a combination of sundials and armillary spheres. Keeping it simple has much to recommend it. Congratulations.
Looking really good ya'll but Mom should be operating the back hole, please take care of her she is such a an amazing Mom and works so hard. I'm 68 and I worked like her till I had a heart attack at 48. ❤😊
Omg some back breaking work you guys are putting in 😱😱 I love the t shirt Ash and I love how Patrick always gets in on the action 🤣🤣😍 keep it up guys, you will be done in no time 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻♥️
A single statue in the centre would look a bit lost. Better to have an understated, traditional sundial. This also represents and acknowledges sunlight, key to all gardens.
Hi to all the family. Ash, you said that you were looking to put bark chippings in the beds, would you consider putting them down before you start planting, that way you could get rid of all the tyres/plastic and then get a rough idea of what it would look like. All you would have to do then is shove the bark to one side as you are planting and put the bark back around the plants. Sue Laban
Soil/compost UNDER mulch - finish with bark mulch ON TOP to suppress weeds. The bark will break down to enrich the soil beneath it. If it is UNDER the soil/compost, it will rob Nitrogen as it breaks down. Never dig mulch layer into the soil layer beneath.
I am looking forward to the visit from the garden designer to hear what will be planted. The whole project will be magnificent when it finished. Heavens, the hard work though. Wow!
I really think a bench on each side, in the center of the formal garden, to sit and take in the beauty or maybe to read, would be a wonderful addition. ❤
I like the idea of something in the center to dedicate to Tracy. She is the light of the family. The sun dial, since it was a feature of the Chateau, would be perfect in the center. Tracy shines like the sun n that would be a perfect tribute to her and all her hard work.

Some people are not for pleasing
Definitely think the original sundial needs to go in the centre of the garden it deserves its special place x
Thank you 🙏 ☺️
And the tall yew trees (as punctuation points) on outer corners of the central area so as not to cast shadows the sundial
Yep 👍 totally agree ❤❤
Sasha and Patrick are totally engaged in what's going on! They observe, investigate and follow the action.
What a great life for them!
How many miles do they walk in a day, I wonder. Bet they sleep good

I bet you any money this is exactly how the Lady of the chateau dreamt of having the walled garden 200 years ago AWSOME WORK 💕🇦🇺💕

Great achievement from all of you

It breaks my heart to see all those beautiful rocks being buried. I know, I know but it’s sad, especially as the new wall still needs recladding.

In the middle a wonderful and antique french fountain would be great👍
Another fountain (in the centre) would be “gilding the Lily” as a pair of fountains are planned for the centres of the outer shapes
Just amazing the effort. You will all be needing a week at the spa.❤

I like the old sundial because it leans into the idea of combining the old with the new.
I still think a iron work Gazebo with curved stone benches would look fantastic, with perhaps climbing roses 🌹 as a center piece for the garden 😊
