    Thank you, thank you...I have been working on this type of chip shot. However, it was a hit or miss experience. I lacked consistency. I chalked it up to lack of practice. Then you mentioned the grip. I never thought about weakening my grip. Can't wait to put it to the test.

    Body rotation has been a huge lesson for me with regards to chipping in the last year. And now that I have a handicap this year, I can see / measure the improvement in my game.
    Cheers

    Thanks for all your tips Andy they really do help.could you please do a video that I can't find on utube it's so frustrating the dreaded bunker I can't get any distance out a bunker if I have a a second shot from the bunker I can never get near the green so I know I will always bogey or double bogey if I hit my high wedges I know I'm only getting 80 yrds at best and if I use lower clubs I always catch the lip and end up back in there,please can you help me out

    I try to use my core and a smooth downswing-transition when chipping , this helps me keeping the club in front of me. The same also works for the full swing. Class Vid! 👍👌

    • @andycartergolf
      @andycartergolf  Рік тому

      Absolutely, the core/larger muscles will control transition, swing and tempo so much better

    Thanks again for another great golf tip. My short game has always been my biggest concern so I'll be working on what you've shown us here. Just one question though, what club were you using in this video and does the technique change for longer or shorter shots and clubs or is it only the swing length that needs adjustment?

    • @andycartergolf
      @andycartergolf  Рік тому +2

      Glad it’s helped Bob, i used a 58° but the technique will remain the same for all clubs and swing lengths inside 20yrds generally

    Facetiously, being built like Buddha means pointing at my stomach leaves a lot of latitude!🤣🤣🤣.
    This is an area I struggle. I have been working on just these techniques for the past while ( Pete Cowan videos bookmarked. And now Andy's bookmarked.) It's a work in progress. But better than last year.
    Good video, Andy. Thanks.

    At last,most golfers have no grasp of the massive rotation (feel) especially through the ball, required in the short game.Main reason they cant use the most dangerous/rewarding club in golf,60 deg wedge.
    But i recently tried to help a 10hcp mate who was handsy and duffing but gave up in the end! so suggested he just play his SW off back foot! glad im not a golf pro!

    Don't tell Phil hinge and hold isn't consistent 😂. I've also found toe down chipping really makes it easier. You should do this as a lesson video for Rick so we can see if it really works😂

    • @ricky454100
      @ricky454100 Рік тому

      I'll second this. Phil's hinge and does not hold the hinge. The club is returned to the ball just as you have shown. The hold part is after impact the club head does not pass up the hands. This keeps the loft on the club the same as at address. Fliping the club is very inconsisent.

    How come we don't use 3 Putters for long, mid and short Putts🤔 The whole Bag has clubs for different distances, why not the putter?

    • @andycartergolf
      @andycartergolf  Рік тому +2

      😂😂😂 because then we’d have too many clubs
