He's humble because he's Australian. In Australia, boasting and pride will get you kicked to the kerb very quickly. The society is so egalitarian that people will soon let you know if you're getting too full of yourself. It has its downsides: people who are very good at what they do, and take pride in it, can be picked on by others in the workplace who aren't as good, because they look bad by comparison. But in the movie industry it's great because it makes performers who will never behave like divas because they'd be ashamed to do so. Especially Australian men - they would lose face with each other if they started treating other people as beneath them. The Hemsworths are like that, and Heath Ledger was too.
Why aren't all Australian actors humble then?
