Not even Beethoven can make me weep like a baby every time. This music has been a huge part of my life for 53 years. This is just as powerful now as it was in 74
This is the straight dope! I love this band, and hope to see them myself in California if they come. Soundtrack 'o life.
@@user-wf4fv4oc1h They have somehow captured the real spirit of YES.I will see them next Friday the 12th. This sounds as good or better tan the original lineup
Relayer was the album where they were the most ahead of their time (at the time of release)m it was far ahead of the 1970s. I completely agree this alcum and esp. Gates is one of the alpine peaks of their entire career.
@@louise_rose One of their true masterpieces, to be sure
@@louise_rose Patrick Moraz tore it up!
Andy Graziano is an amazing guitar player. If you were blind you wouldn't realize this was the classic lineup from the 70s. Thank you Richie, Andy G, Andy A, Rob and Chris. Your awesome!!!!!!!
For me the Most beautiful voice in rock history
@@jonandersonn-qf9vt had troubles with your voice when i 1st time hear Fragile, then metalhead, age 16, 1983. But man, this really turned around. Your voice in the middle of that great music sounds so perfect. I love you Jon an than you for all great moments of my life that you provided.
PS: I could not even perform sex during my best age if Yes music was on, cos I forgot about the girl, what I heard was more important😂❤
@@jonandersonn-qf9vt I am your and espeially Yes fan since 1983, but following your page from very recently. I am from Ljubljana, Slovenia (Cris called it a City of Love when you played here on march 20, 2000.) Thank you once again, your voice is one of the best things I experienced in my life. Please live forever :)
@jon andersonn I'm so fan of your soul and your voice since my teen age. Sorry for my english. The music of yes makes me dream so often. You are a magician. You make the world better. I would have been so happy to see you one Day. Thank you to be the artist you are. Thank you so much!!!
Jon has an unforgettable beautiful voice which will always haunt a 70s Teenager. Love Him. And seen him many times. xxxx
@@jonandersonn-qf9vt I am from the UK Jon, Thanks for the Wonderfull Music you have made 👍
You have to thank Jon for performing with these guys, This is YES. Love it.
and visa cersa. A match made in musical heaven
You act like these guys(the Band Geeks) are bunch of nobody's. Look into the backgrounds of Richie, Andy G, Andy A, Rob and Chris so you understand these are no run of the mill musicians. Jon was the one who reached out to Richie about doing this.
I can’t believe it’s 2023 and I’m hearing this with Anderson himself still sounding like it’s 1975
The MOST difficult YES song to play. And.... YES ARE BACK!!!! ❤❤❤❤
One of the most difficult songs for any band to play!
That is not a stage, it is a friggin' time machine, dialed to 1975.
The greatest Yes song ever written and brought tears of joy to this man in the midst of a hellish day! The power of immortal music!
same same same...well, not the man part...but I had the same kind of day and hearing this is a blessing...I can feel the shit of the day washing away....our reason to be here ❤
Hands down my favorite Yes song. The soon portion may be the most beautiful thing ever recorded or performed. Astonishing. Wish they would come down to the south east in the States. I miss seeing Jon live, and these musicians are absolutely killing it. Far better than the last time I saw the 'actual' band perform without Mr. Anderson.
Agreed... I was on the fence for years as to which was their best tune... Close to the Edge, Gates and Awaken are my favorites. Gates in recent years has risen to the top of that list. So epic... and getting to see all 3 of those songs in one nite is simple amazing. So glad they preplaced Rituals, it is just not in the league of Gates. You are spot on Wiggles as far as Steve's version of the band, they are ok on the less demanding tunes but frankly bad on the tunes with complicated keyboards shall we say. I think it would be a pretty sad outcome if they actually tackle Relayer as a whole.
Um. WOW. So many things to love about this. This band is TIGHT and Jon is ON. Terrific energy. I love that Andy seems to have combined the best elements of Howe's and Rabin's tones and styles. Well done everyone!
Exactly, Danny. Andy plays both Howe and Rabin parts perfectly!
Andy doesn't play any of the Rabin material. He and Richie switch with Andy playing bass and Richie playing guitar. These guys have more talent in their pinkie fingers than my entire body.
It is hard to add to these great Comments. I read down to about 23rds of the Comments and did not see a shout out to the drummer.
I am a hobbyist drummer and have been a Yes fan since 1969. I have tried to play my drums to Gates since it came out. I fall apart every time. This drummer nails it and even brings in creative notes of his own. This is a beast to play on all of the instruments. The time signature and tempo changes plus the shear length of this opus are very hard to play. You better have your A game before you even sit on the kit to play this. Bravo to this drummer as he and the bass player provide the foundation for Gates. I am moved to tears. Cheers to all. Bill.
Jaw dropping performance, took me back to 1975 when I first saw The G of D performed....... The sound recording didn't bring out Richie Castellano's astounding bass playing which really drives the battle section but 10 out of 10 guys.... Love it.
When listening with good earbuds the bass came through nicely. Wow what a performance.
@@jonandersonn-qf9vt Hi there Jon, I have followed the Band Geeks for the past few years and have been astounded by their musicianship and their ability with the help of electronic equipment to accurately recreate the studio sound of the classic Yes songs. Although their vocals were good there was no way of recreating your unique vocal style until you joined them. Thank you from a fan since 1972....
@@jonandersonn-qf9vt I live in Brighton UK and been a fan since my college days; in 1972 a fellow student told me to check out The Yes Album and the rest is history. The first time I saw Yes was at the Rainbow 1973 Tof the TO tour and have seen Yes many times but not since Chris passed away, your vocals and Chris's incredible bass playing was a big draw. I played bass a few years back in an R&B band and yes I played a Rickenbacker 4001 1974 vintage bass because of Chris RIP...
@@jonandersonn-qf9vt Yes of course you can add me, such cherished memories of listening to Yes for over 50 years...
I'm so happy for the Band Geeks and Jon Anderson
It's more like yes than Yes are, these days.
They are out of this world. THIS should be considered as the new YES
Well said... both bands in a sense are tribute bands at this point... one has "the" voice of Yes and still sings beautifully and has a band behind him that can play the music the way the original musicians envisioned and played it. These guys are suberb.
I agree. Certain symphony orchestras are the ‘home’ of certain pieces of music (they were written/conducted for the first time (by their author)…etc.
This Yes sounds more Yessy than Yes sounds - therefore why not just call it Yes?
In your dreams...this is a Anderson tribute band
@@Bobby-bl6og Wrong, since Anderson is actually singing. This IS Yes.
@@benjaminchoadez3112 - yeah, sure they are. How long till Anderson screws them over like he's done to others in the past?....
Supernaturally fantastic. Higher plane performance and complete artistic resolution. Just so glad this came together. The joy is spreading just like Jon Anderson's obvious expression here.
One of the great "Battle Songs" of progressive rock. A battle descends into chaos. Triumph emerges from chaos. Most compositions would stop here, but peace emerges from triumph (i.e., Soon). And that is a beautiful thing.
Your forgiven for not panning :) Thanks for posting this amazing video.
Absolutely magical… great musicianship here, fabulous guitar work to reproduce the original sound
I saw the first two shows.
NJ PAC was mind blowing.
Jon commented how he had just met the Geeks days ago.
You close your eyes and smile because no one misses a beat playing the most complex music with a million changes.
And you wonder how this is possible…but it is.
Bless you Jon.
Somewhere, Chris Squire has a big smile on his face.
It could be monumental if there could be some great new Yes type music from this concoction
This is the group that should perform Tales in its entirety.
And Relayer in its entirety!
They really crush Tales!!
Incredible! Amazing Jon's voice hasn't changed a bit in 50 years. He sounds unbelievable.
I saw them the night before and they did this. Simply amazing. I find it hard to believe that Jon still sings the same way he did back in the 70's today at 78 years old. I know Jon is absolutely loving every minute of this. Then again, so are the Band Geeks. It is a win/win situation for all of them. I will definitely go see them again if they come back to this area.
TapeheadToo, THANK YOU!!! Jon and The Band Geeks CRUSHED this!!!! I saw Yes do this in 75' and this version is its equal or perhaps better. Jon voice is still amazing. Made my day!!!
One of the best versions I have heard and I have listened since it's release
東京からです、まさかこんな素晴らしい映像が見られるとは思いませんでした。是非日本にもきてください。
今でも東京のYESのコンサートは満員ですので。
Incredible performance. Puts the fruity Jon Davidson Yes tribute band to absolute shame. How the fuck can Jon Anderson still sing this well at 78. Man is a legend. Look how big his smile is after he sings the final "our reason to be here". This man truly enjoys and cares about this music.
Steve Howe ,hang your head in shame . This is YES.
Jon Davison tribute band?! 😂 It's Steve Howe's Owner Of A Lonely Hearts Club Band!! 😂
@@robslevin7555 Hold it, I wouldn't slam Steve Howe here...he actually CREATED a good deal of the original music that the Geeks are emulating! Howe is a genius too - that he doesn't play as fast and brilliantly as he used to when he's at the age of seventy-five (and after the premature death of one of his sons) isn't his fault, we all get older over time...
@@louise_rose Yes , ...and I have being buying Steve's music for over 40 yrs. The Yes classics , including Drama , the solo albums , and even the early Asia albums , also, ABWHowe , is a masterpiece... But after the Rabin years , ( some wonderful music) Everything turned to complete shit . Union was the beginning of the end. All the studio albums with Steve at the helm have been a complete clutching at straws disaster. Hey , I keep buying the albums , one let down after another. They are not just average , they are truly embarrassing , unlistenable and an offence to the band we all love(d). Go make as many solo albums as u want Steve , with whomever you choose... but stop dragging the YES name through the dirt in order to make a few extra dirty bucks. I will "hold it" now. Have s lovely day ....
@@jonandersonn-qf9vt Hello . Have s lovely day. There are already a bunch of guys out their that think they are Jon.
That's the best version of Gates I 've heard in quite while. One heck of a song, between this and Close To The Edge as my fav. It's amazing that the guitar sounds so close to Steve on this song. Heck of an achievement!
The perfect fit. This is more Yes than what is passing as Yes.
@@jonandersonn-qf9vt So glad to see and hear you doing this Jon. Such a positive vibe. And you and the band sound great.
@@NelsonMontana1234 That is not Jon Anderson. It's a scammer pretending to be Jon Anderson, and he's going to try to steal money from you. IGNORE HIM.
@@benjaminchoadez3112 Once I read the inarticulate response that was pretty obvious. lol
My goodness…this is the highest level of top shelf playing and virtuosity! Jon lives and moves in this space so effortlessly. This defies his age and he sounds incredible! Yes music has a new life. This in itself is an achievement in music. Many kudos to these fine gentlemen who created this revival. Yes is transcendent.
how ridiculously GREAT are the Band Geeks?!?
They are quite something for sure! Super tight and precise.
They obviously love the material in its original form. This is labor of love and artistic devotion. Mind-blowing. They earned their chops. All of them.
If this was the only piece they did it would’ve been enough. But amazingly they’re doing entire shows. ❤
Well said and I agree. I think the original LP is the both Alan and Steve's best work. Just brilliant.
Chris Clark on keyboards. Saw him with Brand X. He's a musical encyclopedia.
brilliant player. I am so glad this is happening. As someone said, if this was the only thing they did it would be enough, but there is so much more. I am so grateful YES has been the soundtrack of my life. This is as close as anybody will ever get to the 70s lineup Thanks to all!
@Randy A Song of 7 is a brilliant album
Brand X to była muza
Unbelievable, seen when they first did it at the beginning of the tour and I knew that once they had a couple under their belts they would be killing it like tonight. From start to finish this band just nails it. Jon sounding great at almost 79. So he's got a monitor, for a this show he put together in a short time it's understood.
Agreed! I don't care if he reads the lyrics off a monitor, or even off a sheet of paper. I don't care if the band occasionally has to cue him when to come in. His voice is pure gold. It sounds as heavenly now as it did when they recorded the Relayer album almost 50 years ago. We are very blessed to be able to hear Jon sing these songs with such a great band in 2023.
GREAT brought tears to my eyes.
One word. Masterpiece.
Andy Graziano is crazy ass great! He brings his own ideas and sound to this wild piece of music.
Magical Jon for ever. Love from France
Excellent Musicianship without a bunch a squabbling Egos! Very Nice!
Thank you, Jon and Geeks for recreating so perfectly what (for me) is the greatest music ever made on Earth! Powerful, uplifting and beautiful…. Yes enthusiasts have not been levitated so highly for many years!
Didn't think I'd ever see this. From the basement to live on stage. Wow amazing. Well done guys.
And of course you Jon.
Getting tighter and tighter, Great Band supporting the Maestro Jon. 🌴🌴
I've seen Jon, Rick and I think maybe Chris say in interviews they could foresee Yes existing after they are all gone, with all new players. These guys cover the original versions so well. The one thing, you can buy all the same gear, get all the instrument sounds dialed in and play the parts perfectly, sing 100% in tune and beautifully blend the vocal harmonies, but you just can't go to a music store and buy a Jon Anderson voice.
Jon owns Gates... it is his and his only...
Yep. For me, no Jon, no Yes.
Just fucking Brilliant!!! No, wait....... One whole full measure BEYOND Brilliant!
This is Cobo Hall Detroit level shit!

I must say The Band Geeks sound simply sublime !!!! The guitar player hit all the notes perfectly well and Jon Anderson ( the voice) cannot be matched by anybody!!!!!!
Jon sounds as good as ever - ageless! The band are superb. This must give Jon so much joy to think that this music will be performed (this well) well into the future :)
This is the greatest piece of music that was ever written. And this performance brings it all back perfectly.
Holy sh*t... just amazing.

He’s really got the jazz-fusion capabilities of Moraz.
Chris Clarke is amazing!
Jon Anderson is a vocal musical force of nature via his new Prog Rock Band Geeks. well done lads!
I have so much love and respect for The Band Geeks. This is amazing. It reminds me of their video for “Behind the Lines”: “…after the intro it’s basically ‘Brown Eyed Girl’…” 😂
Thank you guys for giving Jon a ‘home’ to play these songs and have them sound amazing.
And thank YOU ‘TapeheadToo’ for sharing this. You’ve made a happy man very OLD! 😅
felt like I was back in time when I saw them at the Family Arena in St. Charles Mo.
Damn. This brings back memories of my 16 year old summer. I was "committed" to this album.

I’ll never forget the first time I heard gates of delirium and soon the light came on. Still gives me chills
I sure hope they taped one of these performances for those who couldn't experience this! Even the bootleg videos look and sound great. Amazing performance!
Monumentale Jon Anderson e stupenda la Band Geeks! Pelle d'oca!

Truly Remarkable ! Devoted musicians. Saw Yes on this tour in '75 and couldn't appreciate it as I do now. These guys were just babies then and have managed to capture the timeless passion of Yes. Jon is a musical savant, and we cherish his contributions to the pantheon of inspirational artistry that is forever in our hearts and minds. Thank-you ,thank-you, thank-you !
I saw them in '75 too. I liked what Moraz brought to Yes. This is as close to the Yes in my head as I've heard. We'll done to the Band Geeks. We'll done Jon Anderson. Thank you for keeping the flame alive a little longer!
