Saving parents money and leveling the playing field for young kids I think is worthwhile.
Its not 'leveling the playing field'. At 12 + under, there is no replacement for technique. Let the kids who can have their non-effective suits and the confidence boost. My finances and how I spend the money I WORK FOR how I choose.
@@saravelasquez3650 yes, and as someone who just turned 13 ik that younger kids will think it is the only way they can be fast and it is detrimental to their confidence
Australia has that exact same rule for 12 and under and i turned 13 3 days before the new rule came into play! HA HA HA HAAA
Heheheheh awesome!😜😜❤️
I live in Australia and go to meets and everyone that is 12&U wears racing swimmers. What are you on about?
It depends on the type of suit. This rule applies to woven compressive kneesuits, but you are still able to wear kneesuits that aren’t compressive and are made of a knitted material instead. If you’re not sure what a suit is made of, it usually specifies in the description section of the suit on the website. :)
@@SwimLifeGuru OK, well that makes much more sense.
Sammy Da Swimmer! That’s not true I wear a tech suit and I’m 12 all my friends also wear them too? Not sure where you found that! Btw I live in Sydney
This is a great video, really informative 👏👏👏
Yay! Thanks!!😇😇
I’m from New Zealand and each region has different rules for tech suits- where I live they have just introduced the same rule but it isn’t going to be introduced until next year
It happened about a year or two ago here in Australia and I think it's been very good rule because then parents aren't pressured to buy their kids expensive swim suits expecially when kids do tend to change and try out different sports
Are you going to be doing the finis back stroke start wedged
I'm from Egypt and we have the same rule😕
Wow! That’s so interesting. Is it the same age restriction?
@@SwimLifeGuru oh yess!
@@SwimLifeGuru I'm in new jersey and this rule was out since last year.
in Finland under 13 year olds can't wear suits that go down to your knees. the age is defined by your birth year tho
Huh! That’s a different way to do the age restriction! Good to know though👍🏻👍🏻
It went into affect this year march 11th in the north eastern zone. i had speedo sectionals and i’m 12 and the only type that have seams are allowed. even if it has no legs on it, it is still not allowed if the seam is not shown
I actually got so lucky because I turn 13 in 2019!!! I have a kneeskin now but it’s only for state.
Really good information
thank you, thank you, thank you💓
Good information ~☆
In Australia for school swimming, 12 year olds were allowed to wear tech suits for school, district, division, regional and state competitions for primary school as 13 year olds that were still in Primary School would be competing, so it would be an even playing field. For all other competitions for REGISTERED swimmers that I’ve been to you can’t wear them.
Every meet I've been to in Australia people wear racing swimmers that are under 13...
Question... wearing tech suits does it really make you more streamlined or does it make you just FEEL faster. I'm sure both but witch one is more true I don't know if any one gets me.😬😓🙄🙄
It definitely makes you more streamlined and helps you glide through the water from multiple aspects; the compression woven fabric to compress your muscles which reduced vibrations in the water (which creates drag), and the super thick fabric with water-resistant coating helps you slide through the water. It also makes you feel pretty awesome though😂
@@SwimLifeGuru ok thanks
Makes sense. But I loved the all body covering body suits like Ian Thorpe wore. Fantastic to wear but if it’s a rule it’s a rule.
Y’know I got scared when you said that 12 and unders can’t wear tech suits, but I’m 12 right now, and in 2020 I’ll be 14, so I’m ok 👍🏻👌🏼
I love your videos💞💞
We had a rule at our club team that we couldn’t wear them until we were in high school........... there were no exceptions for me cuz my dads the coach😬😬
This has nothing to do with swimming but I love your make up it looks good ❤❤😁
Hey, I love you videos btw and I just got this super interesting idea for one! For one of your product try out videos, could you do stuff from wish? Goggles, suits, racing suits, etc. I’m so curious as to if these things really perform well (which i’m assuming not cuz wish) and i just think it would also be a really cool video idea! Keeping making the amazing videos girlie ❤️💕
Oooo!!! That would be really fun!!!! YES!❤️❤️
The fingercracking=#fullbodycringe 😂😂 I love you really 😋❤
Hehehe you’re welcome😘😜
😇So glad you made this video or else some of us would have been in trouble😂
Omg I love your Chanel
I’m turning 13 this year :)))) before September HAHAHHA
Love the colour of Yr lipstick
Thank you!😘
In Faro islands swimmers under 12 can’t wear tech suids
New Zealand has
personally i think they should ban these suits for 10&U because when i was 12 i got my first kneeskin (i was about to turn 13 after my state meet) and i was very developed and it definitely did make a difference and was effective, but that’s just my take
Good point!👍🏻👍🏻
Annie Murer I believe they have banned all kneeskins in Ohio for ten and unders, idk about other states, but it was really stressful for my friend. I had just aged up so I got lucky.
Does this rule start in 2020? If so I’m all good cuz I’m 11
Yep, September 1st, 2020!👍🏻
Yeah me too so I’m safe
I would be safe for the summer but covid hit
Thats a cool jacket, cutie 👍😘
New Zealand is starting the rule this year I think
I'm so happy. I can still wear tech suits. Plz reply your my idol!
New Zealand
New Zealand 🇳🇿 has also made that rule 😢
yeah I'm 13
What about Jammers?
As long as it isn’t made out of woven compression fabric and it can’t have taped seams. There are some jammers (like the Speedo Aquablade I mentioned) that you could wear, but just make sure you read the product details to make sure it’s not woven before you buy a suit. :) Keep in mind the rule doesn’t go into effect for two years and I’ll be doing an in-depth video on exactly what suits you can and can’t wear when the official rule comes out!
In the uk this doesn’t apply
Middle Atlantic swimming banned the arena powerskin for 10U 😒
I was not able to swim in tech suit until i was 14
Is that a legal lipstick ? ;)
I like you lipstick btw
In 2020 I will be 14 yay😀
Thank god I will be 13 before it comes in effect
Hahah NICE👌🏻👌🏻❤️
SwimLifeGuru I just noticed I won’t turn 13 once this rule comes into play. 😥
Jacket zipper ASMR
How old are you? :)
I’m currently 11 years old at the moment but in 2020 I won’t be 😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃
And I don’t live in the US 😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀
