Thank you so much! I am an older swimming learner. I've had lessons but now I can't go to them, I have to find my routines and exercises. Videos like this one are so welcome because even if I am so much better than when I started, I still have so many things to correct and improve, I will sure save this video and try at least a couple of this routines! have a good day everyone and thanks.
My kids favourite drill, they get so excited to put “their rock hands on”! I do rocks for a lap, then normal free a lap. im under water watching each kid improve dramatically as they finally get the “keyhole” pull
Im an aussie former national 200m backstroker, & now specialise instruct technique. This video is awesome because its short & gives great drills! My kids’ favourite is when i say “ok put your rock hands on!” Its one of the best ways to teach max propulsion & least drag & they finally understand the “keyhole” of the arm. THANK YOU! Stay awesome 🤙 💦❤️
Yes I do... Typically your body position/hips are too flat, which can cause your kick to be too flat and wide. Try any of the drills from Lindsey / SLG that work on rotation in freestyle or kicking. Rotation starts from fast/small kicks first, then rotating your hips, and finally your shoulders. If you do this, not only will your body position be more narrow, your kick will be as well. Give it a try and watch her rotation drills, then let me know. Good luck!!
@@todddoherty Yes, hip rotation although not missing completely seems to lag a bit behind the torso(shoulders) one ... I will try to work on that, thank you :) !
I get my kids to sit on side of pool, CLOSE THEIR EYES, & angle feet slightly in so their big toes are brushing. I want them to FEEL the difference in the strength of the kick. rather than see 🤙 then in pool, kickboard half lap feet wide, then half lap toe-brushing.2 extremes but easy to find middle ground
Dad is a great communicator; I like how he explains the why and how with clarity and logic.
Anna is doing a great job too! Thanks a lot.
