Since I have been a college swimmer, (34 years ago) I have gained 113 lbs. Watching what a suit did to your swimming time and stroke, made me realize that I should take this weight off.

Haha love it! In Australia we do a level-appropriate clothes swim every quarter for 'Water Safety Week' and the highest levels wear track pants (sweat pants), long sleeve top, long sleeve fleecey jumper (like a sweater that goes with the sweat pants), socks and sneakers. I'd love to do a business suit swim, though! Hilarious.

I remember when some of my classmates brought the mechanic's coverall for the clothes swim instead of the tracksuit. They didn't really move in the water. The mechanic's coverall is heavy even dry and on land.

Question, Do you think with enough training with the business suit( or blue suit) you’d be able to reach the same level of speed as an “all natural”?
Great question! I don't think it's possible for anyone to swim 22 seconds in a 50 yard (or meter) freestyle with a business suit. There is simply too much drag and the human body can only move so fast with so much resistance. I think with a full rest (and more effort on my end) I can go a few seconds faster. That's about it.

My suggestion is for you to wear a full suit of medieval knight armor (iron boots included), do this in the shallow end so you dont sink

Not only we enjoyed but what is more important learned that if for any reason you find yourself in water with clothes the most important thing is to get rid of it as fast as possible!!!

Just curious was this short course or long course?
Short course == 25 metre pool, long course == 50 metre pool. Here he swam 2 lengths to achieve 50 metres, thus it was a short course swim. He's in the USA so it may have been yards instead of metres, the same rules apply.

I need to see if I can swim with a hunting bib on, baselayer, sweater, pistol in a gunfighter inc chest holster & maybe a rifle slung on my back

That's ok! We all start somewhere - keep working hard and you'll bring that time down :)

Swimming in a Business Suit is closer to naturality then regular swimming especially if swimming is happen in cold water. But you lack of shoes too.
Try swimming old school. No goggles. No cap. And a Speedo suit

Too many swimmers train without getting enough rest between workouts
Should be more emphasis on flexibility, diet , speed training once technique is good, etc
