The greatest prank for April Fool's is to not give people what they're expecting: a prank...
There's a UA-camr, Kmac, who's does a bunch of stupid videos. His covers are always ridiculous.
His April fool's joke last year was to put out a serious cover.
@@darkdudironaji he did the same again this year lol, love that dude, he's got some serious talent
@@MotorMarvin Thanks for saying something! I'm saying backed up in my sub feed that I missed it!
@@darkdudironaji yeah he's outstanding :D
darkdudironaji reminds me of the time howtobasic released a relatively normal recipe tutorial for April Fool’s day.

Song fact: This song was written about how The Fray's singer tried talking one of the youths he was counseling out of using heroin (or cocaine, I don't remember), and failing.
Oh shit I didn't know that
After being in the place of trying to help an addict for two years straight, this song hits closer to home more than it ever did when I was a child.
I had a feeling of it something like that with the drug
I thought it was mental health, either way I always think of when my friends tried to take there life
Or how people would feel if I did take mine
I didn't know that's why they made this song. It's a beautiful song 🙂
the original version is when you feel sad and just want sit down and cry.
this version is when you feel angry and just want to shout and scream
both version let you feel what needs to be felt to heal
I... totally expected an April Fool's joke. Half of me is still looking for it. I can't tell if I just missed it or if this is just a straight up regular video.
The joke here is Jon's memory, or lack thereof.
Maybe that it’s a straight up regular video IS the April Fool’s joke.
@@Vgamer311 we getting real meta up in here
Sykan Lienne the joke was it was lip synced after he said it wasnt lmao joking 🙃
If you look very closely at 2:22, you will notice...
Absolutely perfectly normal frame and you probably already knew that.
This came out only a few days after a close friend of mine died of suicide. I've lost friends before. This wasn't the first. I have lost a friend to a meth addiction. I have lost a friend to cancer. I have lost a friend to the hands of a murderer. I have lost a friend to the hands of a drunk driver. I have lost a friend to being in the Army and going to Iraq.
None of those deaths prepared me for losing a friend to suicide. I am still shaken to the core over her. The fact her life got to a point where she felt there was no way to rectify the wrongs that were done to her, where she felt ending her own life was the only way to escape the pain.
She was a good person. Beyond good. She was one of my best friends. She was there for me when I was struggling. I met her while I was homeless and she helped me get food and took me driving to get out of the heat.
She didn't deserve to be treated the way she was. People hurt her badly. But she was, and she was traumatized because of it, and now she's gone.
are you ok?
I hope you’ll be able to pass this hard part of life. I know what it feel to lose friends to suicide, I actually lost my first crush due to suicide..... I send you all the good vibes I can
I’m so sorry! I hope you’re doing better now
Sorry bud
Thinks for sharing... it really made me reconsider ... I might feel alone and isolated ... but in the end There is at least two persons that will be marked if I past away ... I will stay for them
This man would make Enter Sandman a religious experience.

I like these live recordings way better than the green screen lip-sync. These have genuine energy instead of dead eyes staring into my soul.
i think there's songs that fit both vibes and Jonathan does a good job of differentiating between the two. but yes, this style is great
chase is honestly the #1 victim but it fucking fits
Step one, you say we need to talk
He walks, you say sit down, it's just a talk
He smiles politely back at you
You stare politely right on through
Some sort of window to your right
As he goes left, and you stay right
Between the lines of fear and blame
You begin to wonder why you came
Where did I go wrong?
I lost a friend
Somewhere along in the bitterness
And I would have stayed up with you all night
Had I known how to save a life
Let him know that you know best
Cause after all, you do know best
Try to slip past his defense
Without granting innocence
Lay down a list of what is wrong
The things you've told him all along
And pray to God he hears you
And I pray to God he hears you
Where did I go wrong?
I lost a friend
Somewhere along in the bitterness
And I would have stayed up with you all night
Had I known how to save a life
As he begins to raise his voice
You lower yours and grant him one last choice
Drive until you lose the road
Or break with the ones you've followed
He will do one of two things
He will admit to everything
Or he'll say he's just not the same
And you'll begin to wonder why you came
Where did I go wrong?
I lost a friend
Somewhere along in the bitterness
And I would have stayed up with you all night
Had I known how to save a life
Where did I go wrong?
I lost a friend
Somewhere along in the bitterness
And I would have stayed up with you all night
Had I known how to save a life
How to save a life
Where did I go wrong?
I lost a friend
Somewhere along in the bitterness
And I would have stayed up with you all night
Had I known how to save a life
Where did I go wrong?
I lost a friend
Somewhere along in the bitterness
And I would have stayed up with you all night
Had I known how to save a life

Matthew Faircloth totally agree
Idk about 100x better, but it definitely keeps to the spirit of the original song instead of becoming a straight metal cover
I'm so glad this cover wasn't forgotten and lost. This is insanely good. Hell, everything you do is.
I was never crazy about this song because I didn't feel like The Fray's version matched the lyrics. This works because it adds that raw edge that you do so well. Hat's off and thank you.

A part of my long-dead soul came alive again when I found Jon's cover of Iris. 💗
I can't express how much of your content, especially some of the originals like walked a mile, have meant to me this past year or so. I've been going through a rough time and I am very grateful to have music I can turn to that feels right. thank you.
As an idea, you could cover "The vengeful one" from Disturbed, It'd be amazing!
Oh... PLEASE DO THIS!!!!

Every time I listen to a cover from Johnathan Young, it gives me chills. He puts such a spectacular twist on classic songs in a way that it pays an honorable tribute to the original while still having his own unique flair and style shine through. I’ll never get tired of this!
@JonathanYoung Can't tell you how much you and @CalebHyles have helped me. Seeing you guys do what you do has reignited the music in me. Thank you so much.

You went deep this week, sir.
A variation of this very topic has been on my mind lately. How can I connect more authenticly with that which is disconnected or unbalanced within myself, within others, in the community, and with the Mother Earth.
Thank you Jonathan, for being so completely relevant. For instictively knowing what song is needed to sooth, seranade, inspire, humor or empower. Thank you so much for just being you. 🖤

I’ve been listening to your music since the very beginning and have a giant collection of your music. Your voice is one in a million and your collabs with Lee on the guitar are some of my faves. I’ve had this on repeat, this is gold. Well done. Keep doing you.
I was just listening to this song on my playlist and I got this in my notifications. This is a blessing. Also, you are an amazing singer! I wish you a great day and I hope you and your loved ones are safe!
I clicked the video afraid of getting Rick Rolled, good thing Jonathan has dignity.
He has Rick Rolled up before. it wouldn't work a second time.
Gosh, that lead guitar in the chorus gets me every time. I want to hear that in more rock covers of emotional songs.
I loved this. The fray has always been one of my favorite bands. And I love when you do ballads like this
Right as I'm crying. You couldn't of timed this any better Jon. This is amazing, thank you
This was one of my favorite songs back in high school. I think you captured its message even more than the original. Seriously good stuff here, Jonathan. Your gift of music is amazing, and I’m this crazy time, I’m thankful to have you to listen to.
Found this in my playlist again. Ugh it's so good, my favorite version, and the OG is so hard to beat!

My father introduced me to this song when I was young and its still one of my favorites. This song is just great and Jonathan made a cover worthy for this song. Thank you for reminding me this song still exists
I've always loved this song, and your cover gave me chills as I realized I never really knew the words. Now as I realize what this song is really about, it makes me think of the times I've stayed up with friends, making sure I'd see them the next day.
This may be deep but this is a song that I actually was listening to when I attempted to take my life and means so much to me in general. I'm glad one of my favorite artists covered this song! It's a song that brings nothing but positivity in my life now. I love hearing it so thank you!

I’m sorry man, you’re a legend but I just can’t listen to this song without being emotionally wreaked and weeping uncontrollably. Perhaps that’s doe to the fact that when my dog died and when one of my oldest closet friends also died I played this on repeat for weeks afterwards.

Jon, you have such amazing talent, it gives me chills. This song really hit me. Just recently my depression had gotten really bad and I refused to talk to anyone as it just kept getting worse. Not wanting them to worry and that. But Im terrible at hiding how I feel so they did worry. One day I felt that nothing really mattered anymore and I started to shut everyone out. Some of my closest friends pulled me aside and wanted me to speak with them. They felt that I was going to do something stupid if another day had gone by, and shit I had been wanting to. But my friends had told me that they cared about me. Like truely. That if I suddenly vanished they'd be the first to come looking for me. That I have value in their lives and how just being able to see me is enough for them to feel happy. I dont know... To others my feelings would be ignored or pushed aside but knowing that Im loved in such a way, just put me at ease. Depression is one hell of thing... Even though I fight it each day I at least know I have others that want to help whenever I need it.
Jeez John you just hit way harder than the songs are even supposed to in the first place. You bring so much power to the music that you cover, its unbelievable man.
