I have PTSD from childhood abuse inflicted by my father. I've always felt that if I didn't exist that my mom could have escaped faster. For some reason, this man's cover finally broke through to me that it's not my fault because I must ,"Forgive myself for what I've done." I did nothing wrong. I'm sobbing at 5 a.m. Time to let go.

oof, like seriously this is the first I had heard about his death... thats a part of my childhood gone, and it's so sad it was suicide. Kinda makes my the comment I was originally going to make seem a like a dick move, but I am gonna say it anyway, this cover seems more like what Linkin Park would have done before and the meaning of the song was to put the past behind them and try and reinvent themselves.

I post this not only because of its ties to Transformers, but rather as a memory to one of the many great singers who is sadly no longer with us. Chester may be gone, but he will NEVER be forgotten. Thank you, Jonathan Young, for this cover. For doing it justice and keeping Chester's memory alive.
This sounds like a completely different song. The weight, the effort you put into this song to make it not just an homage, or a cover, but your own track in a way speaks volumes to your musicianship. Chester would be freaking proud of this one. Great job, man.

Chester was able to get past whatever wrongdoings he may have committed. He expressed many of his emotions and struggles through his music which is why I love linkin Park. I listen to his music because I hope that one day I may be able to forgive myself for all the awful shit I have done

(Disclaimer: This comment is over a year too late, but I don't really care, I need to get this off my chest. This is also just me stating my opinion, )
Didn't think I had the tears in me, after all, I hadn't heard this song in over a year. Boy was I wrong! Just mouthing the lyrics and thinking about all we've done as a species, some of the things we've done to our planet and to each other are unforgivable, had me silently shedding tears. If you know what I'm talking about, you've seen the original music video or you're aware of the meaning of the song. I'm glad I got a chance to hear this again, and I was reminded again of the past, present, and future. We still have a lot to do if we ever want to make up the damage we've done to our planet, and to one another. Regardless, I've always been a Linkin Park fan and always will be one.
P.S Jonathan Young, you're covers have both inspired me to make music someday, but to also help others even more than I want to every day (I only can't help out completely as I'm somewhat broke currently and can't donate money to those who need it and due to our current predicament this year). I can't express how much I appreciate this cover even if I never got the opportunity to a year back (excuses; excuses on my end). Just know I gave this a like, I'm already a subscriber who's been subscribed to you since I think early 2018 or late 2017.
