The Ed Sullivan Show was a television variety program that aired on CBS from 1948-1971. For 23 years it aired every Sunday night and played host to the world's greatest talents. The Ed Sullivan Show is well known for bringing rock n' roll music to the forefront of American culture through acts like Elvis Presley, The Beatles, and The Rolling Stones. The entertainers each week ranged from comedians like Joan Rivers and Rodney Dangerfield, to Broadway stars Julie Andrews and Richard Burton, to pop singers such as Bobby Darin and Petula Clark. It also frequently featured stars of Motown such as The Supremes, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder and The Jackson 5. The Ed Sullivan Show was one of the only places on American television where such a wide variety of popular culture was showcased and its legacy lives on to this day.

Beautiful song Jerry Vale ❤
My mom loved him. She had a few of his albums. She would grab my pop and start to dance. He never seemed to mind.
Golden voice.
I LOVED THE SONG..SUNG BY MY FAVORITE SINGER..JERRY VALE WITH A VELVET VOICE..VERY NICE VERSION❤❤❤
Was 1 of my mother's favs. Sadly I never got into much of his music til after she passed. We played his song "For Mama" at her funeral.
He was one of my mother's favs too. In fact we saw him with Al Martino in concert in 1999. It was one of the best times of her life. I'm so glad i have that memory. When I listen to Jerry's beautiful voice, I think of my mother and she is with me.
I love Jerry Vale's version of this ballad, such wonderful and one of a kind
How lovely to be able to see this being sung live! Are used to be a radio, DJs overseas many moons ago and this is one of the songs I played frequently on my morning music show. I remember I used to say something like - “and here’s the soaring tenor voice of Jerry Vale…” Thanks for posting - this is marvelous!
That was a powerful and beautiful performance. Thank you for sharing this, God Bless You and stay safe
Recorded live at Circus Circus in Las Vegas on January 12, 1969 (the date in the description is a re-run date). Thank you so much for posting this! The second half of this performance "Those Were The Days" was posted here quite awhile ago. I always enjoy Jerry Vale's singing!
CIRCUS CIRCUS?!
Jerry Vale is truly my favorite singer ❤
Very moving song with delicate accompaniment by the orchestra.
Época maravillosa!!! Evocador video.....!
That’s fantastic.
BEAUTIFUL !
One of my favorite singers! A great voice.
This is FINE GOLD record 💿 bringing back 1000 memories down memory lane 🍷 🎵 🎼
What a great RENDITION of this beautiful song, when Jerry was performing live before the audience he would always say this next song I had one of the first recordings of it and it went on to become a big hit by them, but nevertheless i'm going to sing it for you now, in my opinion he sings TILL the best of all the male recording artists that recorded it, Jerry had an AMAZING VOCAL RANGE. RIP.
Beautiful...
Happy Wednesday... thank you for sharing!
Love this Song the very beautiful " TILL " No One sings it better than ENGELBERT HUMPERDINCK,the KING OF ROMANCE !!! He is just FABULOUS !!!!!!!!
To my beloved wife who went to be with the Lord so soon last year 😢😢 I'll always love you my dear Lucy
❤
A nice paisano
"Jerry Vale was singing on the ship and it sunk" - Don Rickles
Please, upload the live performances of Raphael!!!
Martin Scorsese put him in Goodfellas and Casino. Now, even after his death in 2014, Scorsese has Steve van Zandt playing Vale in "The Irishman". It's a bit weird, to be honest.
Vale was born Gennaro Louis Vitaliano in the Bronx, New York, to Italian immigrant parents. He may have been a favorite in the Scorsese household. Jerry also appeared in The Sopranos.

A song that needed a big voice. Shirley Bassey and Tom Jones did great versions as well.
and dorothy squires!!
Definitely not filmed/taped in the Ed Sullivan Theater. 🙂
We know that.
the warbling jerry vale
He does wander off the note now and then.
I like it...but Tom Jones DECCA Recording is still unbeatable 😉
