I really miss the older days. People cared more for each other and had a reverence and respect for God and country.

I saw today a picture that said : My parents spanked me as a child. As a result, I now suffer from a psychological condition known as "RESPECT FOR OTHERS".

What a great video!! I, myself, was born in the 50's.
(1958, to be exact) This place looks fantastic!! I wish l could go there but, since l am mostly bed-ridden, that will NEVER happen, sad to say. Thank you for posting this video of your FANTASTIC store/restaurant on UA-cam. May you continue to be blessed with many, many visitors to your establishment. Thank you again!!!!

Definately my kind of place. Memories of simpler times, slower pace, and real food before I had to worry about diets, getting ahead, or just keeping up. Make mine a burger with chocolate malted shake on a spindle mixer anytime and I'll sit on the porch and wave as the Amish neighbors go by. AND I will turn off my cell phone for that day!

If you drive there you will need to take the Cross Bronx Expressway. Just avoid the Queens and Manhattan exits.

As old as some of the things might be, and is old-fashioned as some of the cooking maybe I'm guessing the prices are right up-to-date.

I don't know when this was made... but it does look "old-timey". The men on the porch, the polite, well-scrubbed kids... it'd be nice to have longer business hours. I'll pass on the bologna sandwich, though.

I have close personal Amish friends that my family and I have visited and spent time with with since I was a kid. Plain and simple they hate this so-called Amish store and tour mockery. They said they felt like they were on display to "Gawkers". They also felt threatened by the flood of people that would unload from these wagons and actually end up in their houses looking around as if they were in a museum. He also said that most of the "Amish" goods sold out on Hwy. 43 aren't Amish at all. I told him I was going to start a free English tour for Amish people and let them stare at people and go into their homes and walk around. He thought it was hilarious. The Amish are just people like you and me living their lives peacefully and raising families. They may not dress or act like we do but in today's world that isn't a bad thing at all. Guess what? Depending on your age at the time of reading this, you, your parents, grandparents or great grandparents lived the same way.

Many groups of people or eras are studied and experienced because people are curious and learn about themselves and the world around them.

There's a reason why people go into their homes many times is because this selling stuff that's located in their homes whether it's candles or quilts or candy or tools even furniture they always want to sell to the people who come by and many people buy and their prices are not low or competitive
I know many Amish that have stores that cater mainly to non amish people. Some of them are even on UA-cam not hiding from the cameras and using many of the modern conveniences like credit card machines and cash registers and so on
I love the Amish way but let's not get it twisted I'm not like them
