I was 7 when these cards were released. Fights would break out in school to acquire these gems. They were hated by parents and teachers. They became a cult-collecting item for us, however. I remember a similar set of cards depicting the American Civil War that came out soon after? Equally violent and graphic. The movie was hilarious, given the 35 year gap between the cards and TB's rendition involving the top actors of the day. Thanks for going through the entire set!

I heard of Mars Attacks and Dinosaurs Attack, but I never heard of Civil War News until reading this comment. Realy interesting.

I heard they were banned on the East coast but we could still get them in Calif ! I think I got all my cards at Thriftys
