I too have a collection of old Schwinns. 88 Schwinn Cruiser 5, 62 Schwinn Skipper, 58 24"schwinn, 90 Schwinn w electric i built. 63 Schwinn same month and yr Kennedy was killed, so its my Kennedy bike, its red. 60's Raleigh sport, old huffys, a Columbia.
A Western Flyer that I was hit by a Ford escape from behind riding my bicycle 02oct16 at 50mph Hit n Run. All caught on two cams. 16 staples in my head and b.p.p.v.
So..i ride facing traffic. There is no law that states which side to ride on and if so in your state that makes it wrong. Common sense tells ya that slower traffic sees faster traffic much better and im not protected like ppl are in there machines.
Nice bike, you didn't showcase the special starburst headbadge though...
I just bought a similar Jaguar Coppertone and my concern grew when I find the serial number indicates the date the bike was made is Oct 8 1962 -- I'm aware the Coppertone was introduced in 1963 Schwinn catalogue. Did I buy not original bike?
Schwinn probably had to start making new year bikes months ahead. I got 1965 Oldsmobile Cutlass and it was built in September 64.
How much for the Schwinn Jaguar 1963 Mark V. I have one but if I could buy it for less than I can restore mine I would be interested. Larry
