xStrezz agreed. It’s very difficult to get enough progression just looking for yellows. I’ve been trying on 116. Thinking about trying to kill the triple blues as well, but not sure how efficient it will be.
I’ve run into the problem of finding yellows using my thorns Necro . Seems like my luck is when ever I use my thorns Necro I get the absolute worst possible rifts . 😂

Hey, Rax, I think you'll get a kick out of this. I got primal monk boots trying to convert them to gloves in the Cube. I was getting pretty angry because they kept rolling up as boots 3 or 4 times in a row. Then suddenly they came up primal boots, which should be impossible. That's when I realized I had accidentally selected the Reforge Legendaries formula by mistake. LOL.
I stumbled across this in my recommendations, and I couldn't be more pleased. Your videos are clear and concise, and the table of contents (with timestamps!) in the description is something that I *deeply* appreciate. I've always resented the rise of video guides over text, mostly because it's so much more difficult to find specific portions, and that helps a lot.
BTW, just wanted to quickly mention, I had no idea how the seasonal gift sets worked until I heard you say you had to claim them and they would then be in the gr mailbox. That helped me out so much. I dont remember which video it was because I've watched so many of yours lately :o) so thanks again for all that you do to help the community
As a new player (in Diablo), this is probably the BEST video I have watched yet. It really, really helped. My wife and I both play, and play together often -- so I'm sharing this with her as well. That explains a lot of the questions we had regarding timing, efficiency and the way in which to progress in the game. Thank you!!
I agree with the fact that "town is lava" but I personally need a few seconds in between rifts for my sanity. If you are like me and get burned out way faster if you just play, play, play, then feel free to take a breather in town every few rifts. You'll want to play more and have more fun and that's what it's all about in the end.
@Will Meyer While I agree with your overall point I must say that it depends on the type of person you are. Some people play games solely for the story/gameplay while others may enjoy story/gameplay a good amount but the main reason they play said game is for the competitive aspect. A good portion of the people that play this genre, in particular, are those that enjoy the end result and satisfaction of knowing they had the stronger will power than most to grind out those power gains over the more casual players. So I don't think going as far as to call them idiots is fair. Even the most casual of players know how much of a pain it is to grind things out when you aren't seeing much of an immediate reward, no matter how much you love the gameplay and the number of breaks you take. That's why most of them quit to begin with.
I have been on and off Diablo 3 and my goal has been for years to solo a GR 70, and I still havent managed it. However I did manage to identify for myself most of the stuff Rax is giving us tips about, except (of course) spending too much time in town and the other one being that Greater Rifts offer much quicker paragon levelling than Nephalem rifts do. I am hoping that this time I will finally manage to beef my character up (Wizard with Vyr set) enough to do a GR70 solo.
@@waltertav Good Luck! It's a good idea to try to get that done so primals start to drop. Honestly, if you just want to get that done, it can easily be accomplished by a lot of builds. I did GR 70 on day 1 this season with my whirlwind barb. Otherwise, just keep at it.

that, Raxx i think Hellfire ring is awesome for pwr lvl. + leorics ring and crown with red gem and ease (you can self-pwr lvl with a weapon and a good lvl ease, will take about 40 min). and i try to have these pwr-lvl gear with the secondary +2XX xp / kill.
For the seasonal journey part do I need to complete the campaign? Because o leveled in adventure mode and didn’t really play the story , now I am 70 with para lv 26

I have not played Diablo 3 for many years, now due to the Diablo IV Trailers I am in the mood to play Diablo 3 again. Its still very fun to play and I did not know there is so much to do in the endgame. The reason why I write a comment is to tell you, that this is one of the best video game tutorial videos I have ever seen. It is as efficient as the play style you describe. All the facts are there, everything is clear and all the needed information is compressed. This is how all game videos should be.
the only problem i have... i select a class and a build and then i realize oh i can never play in groups with it great..... so i need to make another char that i dont really like. To play in groups to make the char i like stronger.... so i have to play what i dont like to make the stuff i like stronger(paragons gems level etc.) and thats what pisses me off about d3.. (blizz give me one damn season with a paragon cap at 800 i would dig that) nice guide tho!!

One thing I would like to add is that it's not always the best to push yourself to the limit. Doing a GR 100 in 10 minutes is not as good as doing five GR 90s in two minutes each.
Best place to get the white, yellow, and blue crafting mats is templar level (you get them faster there than anywhere). You loot the weapon/armor racks there to get a ton of white items (some blue/yellows rarely but mostly white) and you end up getting over 100 white parts every 90 seconds or so (just remember to spam spacebar to make the templars stop talking faster). You get more parts per white item then yellow/blue items and you can then convert those white parts into yellow/blue parts using cube. That does require you to have campaign mode act 5 part 3 or higher unlocked but you can usually ask around and find someone who has it. Other than that the second best place is the battlefields of eternity map to loot the decaying armor/weapon piles but you get less mats per minute that way and mobs will attack you (you do not fight at all in the other run). That being said when you do a rift you get gr keys which are more important for end game and therefore are usually better for that reason. Also, a link to the full leveling guide would be nice for those who have disabled the popups but other than that great guide and by far the best one I have found so far.
Too extreme for the casual me but thanks for the tip with the challenge rift .. still you need bountys for the first set ... to cube stuff unless the challenge rift covers it :)

I get more legends drops on normal rifts. Even today i've played 3 hours rift after rift and get on one run from 17 to 27 drops on T16. All good for forgotten soul :D Even in group i always have that minimu 17 when everyone else 6 to 9 drops. I dunno what im doing different. :) anyway great video. My best regards
Oh and....as to a ramaladinis gift...make something similar to that but a re roll tool that allows you to re roll another stat on an item AFTER you've already did your first re roll. Call it " roll of the demon" or something. And it can be found in the open world. I want MORE CUSTOMIZATION FREEDOM!!!....and some tool that allows you to socket rings without sacrificing a stat
Protip: you can right-click items in your inventory, and it'll move it to the "other" side. Examples: Stash-->Backpack (when stash is open) Backpack-->Worn (when only inventory is open) Backpack-->Cube (when cube is open)

I didn't receive a primal ancient for completing GR70 solo. I've pushed to gr110 and haven't gotten one primal ancient yet. I'm playing a non-seasonal truth and necromancer right now. Am I doing something wrong or have primals change since this video was made? Thanks

I hope they make it like a 1 in 200 chance in diablo 4...I also hope you are able to use more powers in the cube then 3. Maybe like after you complete a gr 100 then you can use for items and are allowed to extract for legendary powers in the cube. Then I like greater Rift 1:30 or 1:40 you were able to use five...they need to make it more rewarding for the player... depending on the items that you have, should be able to add points in accordance to what item it is ...like how paragon works but with stats on items...like attack speed...every 20 paragon levels you can add one point to attack speed on one of your items...or crit chance. Damage. Etc.
The game always gives me primals for the sets, that i am not playing. And it prefers to give me primals, when i am in multiplayer with a player with lower paragon than me.

Doesn't the cube roll within the same class limits that apply to Kadala? I've learned it the hard way when I spent lots of mats on pants that would otherwise only drop on WD. So I speedleveled a WD and I got these pants within minutes from Kadala, and I got the same pants again as Ancient from the cube later whereas I never got them in over countless attempts on my Wizard (not even talking of world drops). :o
It does, but we can just swap to a level 1 of whatever class we want gear for and use the cube that way. The cube requires level 70 ITEMS, but not a level 70 CHARACTER :)
Well done but I think that the most important thing I’ve taken away from this video is that in all actuality there are no tips or tricks to playing D3. Level up->get free gear->bang head against wall doing the same thing for a 1000 hours to achieve a spot high up on a list. Leh sigh.

I like bounties. Doing them in a group if you can all do it fast enough it takes a few minutes to complete all 5 caches and they give lots of craft mats that you need to play the rng game to get that socket after you spend a thousand or more veiled and you don't have anything left to convert and the socket still didn't pop... plus it gives lots of trash legendaries to get forgotten souls for the same purpose or for the recipe of course. But in my experience I used to hate bounties until I figured it was the best way to get fast crafting mats, because rifts only get you a couple hundred mats per run, whil bounties give you at least 500 mats per run. For DB and gold of course the regular rifts and for xp and good legendaries the gr. But still, you need to play all game modes regularly on a season if you want to get all you need to make progress.
I have no Friends. So I play all the time solo. And I play on console. But I can use your tips there aswell. Sadly, solo players still have disadvantages in Xp farming or Grift farming. But I am used to it. XD

If people really want a Diablo 3 offline version all we have to do is convince a significant number of people to defer their purchase of Diablo 4 a month or 2 . its the only way to make corporations like Blizzard create the software that the people want, its to hit their bottom line

you can succeed playing solo only, as long as you grind GRs efficiently. there is also a solo self found league that I think organizes on reddit if you'd like to join that each season
Yes, it does. You need to test out because it is simply gearbased what grift level you can complete. If regular rifts at torment 13 is easy for you then 70 solo should be easy too.
Your caution against using upgrade rare item on rings is a little confusing to me because it's also extra expensive to roll rings from Kadala, so it's not like there's a significantly cheaper way to get rings. They are always going to be an expensive part of the build to track down if you don't get lucky and have the ones you need drop naturally in the world. With Kadala, my strategy has been to focus on the pieces she offers for 25 shards first, and use upgrade rare on the things that are more expensive from her (typically the jewelry and weapons). So I'm not quite sure about "don't upgrade rare item on rings," but I guess I can still see the spirit of the advice and take the pool into consideration. To use your example, if I'm missing both a ring and a scythe, you'd suggest I upgrade rare item for the scythe *first* because I'm far more likely to get it? Perhaps I just go after rings last, when the rest of the build has the required components, which should have elevated me to a high enough difficulty that it's easier to get the materials for upgrading rare items (assuming the missing rings haven't dropped in the process of getting that far).
Your reasoning brought you to my conclusion. If you need 2 items and one is super easy to get (scythes) vs not easy to get (rings) definitely go for scythes first

the only problem i have... i select a class and a build and then i realize oh i can never play in groups with it great..... so i need to make another char that i dont really like. To play in groups to make the char i like stronger.... so i have to play what i dont like to make the stuff i like stronger(paragons gems level etc.) and thats what pisses me off about d3.. (blizz give me one damn season with a paragon cap at 800 i would dig that)

One thing I would like to add is that it's not always the best to push yourself to the limit. Doing a GR 100 in 10 minutes is not as good as doing five GR 90s in two minutes each.

Best place to get the white, yellow, and blue crafting mats is templar level (you get them faster there than anywhere). You loot the weapon/armor racks there to get a ton of white items (some blue/yellows rarely but mostly white) and you end up getting over 100 white parts every 90 seconds or so (just remember to spam spacebar to make the templars stop talking faster). You get more parts per white item then yellow/blue items and you can then convert those white parts into yellow/blue parts using cube. That does require you to have campaign mode act 5 part 3 or higher unlocked but you can usually ask around and find someone who has it. Other than that the second best place is the battlefields of eternity map to loot the decaying armor/weapon piles but you get less mats per minute that way and mobs will attack you (you do not fight at all in the other run). That being said when you do a rift you get gr keys which are more important for end game and therefore are usually better for that reason. Also, a link to the full leveling guide would be nice for those who have disabled the popups but other than that great guide and by far the best one I have found so far.

I get more legends drops on normal rifts. Even today i've played 3 hours rift after rift and get on one run from 17 to 27 drops on T16. All good for forgotten soul :D Even in group i always have that minimu 17 when everyone else 6 to 9 drops. I dunno what im doing different. :) anyway great video. My best regards

Oh and....as to a ramaladinis gift...make something similar to that but a re roll tool that allows you to re roll another stat on an item AFTER you've already did your first re roll. Call it " roll of the demon" or something. And it can be found in the open world. I want MORE CUSTOMIZATION FREEDOM!!!....and some tool that allows you to socket rings without sacrificing a stat
Protip: you can right-click items in your inventory, and it'll move it to the "other" side.
Examples:
Stash-->Backpack (when stash is open)
Backpack-->Worn (when only inventory is open)
Backpack-->Cube (when cube is open)

You need to complete a solo GR that's 70 or higher one time to unlock primal ancients to be available at any difficulty going forward

I didn't receive a primal ancient for completing GR70 solo. I've pushed to gr110 and haven't gotten one primal ancient yet. I'm playing a non-seasonal truth and necromancer right now. Am I doing something wrong or have primals change since this video was made? Thanks

I hope they make it like a 1 in 200 chance in diablo 4...I also hope you are able to use more powers in the cube then 3. Maybe like after you complete a gr 100 then you can use for items and are allowed to extract for legendary powers in the cube. Then I like greater Rift 1:30 or 1:40 you were able to use five...they need to make it more rewarding for the player... depending on the items that you have, should be able to add points in accordance to what item it is ...like how paragon works but with stats on items...like attack speed...every 20 paragon levels you can add one point to attack speed on one of your items...or crit chance. Damage. Etc.
The game always gives me primals for the sets, that i am not playing. And it prefers to give me primals, when i am in multiplayer with a player with lower paragon than me.

Doesn't the cube roll within the same class limits that apply to Kadala? I've learned it the hard way when I spent lots of mats on pants that would otherwise only drop on WD. So I speedleveled a WD and I got these pants within minutes from Kadala, and I got the same pants again as Ancient from the cube later whereas I never got them in over countless attempts on my Wizard (not even talking of world drops). :o
It does, but we can just swap to a level 1 of whatever class we want gear for and use the cube that way. The cube requires level 70 ITEMS, but not a level 70 CHARACTER :)
Bounties are god awful... Honestly so boring.
Well done but I think that the most important thing I’ve taken away from this video is that in all actuality there are no tips or tricks to playing D3. Level up->get free gear->bang head against wall doing the same thing for a 1000 hours to achieve a spot high up on a list. Leh sigh.

I like bounties. Doing them in a group if you can all do it fast enough it takes a few minutes to complete all 5 caches and they give lots of craft mats that you need to play the rng game to get that socket after you spend a thousand or more veiled and you don't have anything left to convert and the socket still didn't pop... plus it gives lots of trash legendaries to get forgotten souls for the same purpose or for the recipe of course. But in my experience I used to hate bounties until I figured it was the best way to get fast crafting mats, because rifts only get you a couple hundred mats per run, whil bounties give you at least 500 mats per run. For DB and gold of course the regular rifts and for xp and good legendaries the gr. But still, you need to play all game modes regularly on a season if you want to get all you need to make progress.

you can succeed playing solo only, as long as you grind GRs efficiently. there is also a solo self found league that I think organizes on reddit if you'd like to join that each season

Yes, it does. You need to test out because it is simply gearbased what grift level you can complete. If regular rifts at torment 13 is easy for you then 70 solo should be easy too.

Your caution against using upgrade rare item on rings is a little confusing to me because it's also extra expensive to roll rings from Kadala, so it's not like there's a significantly cheaper way to get rings. They are always going to be an expensive part of the build to track down if you don't get lucky and have the ones you need drop naturally in the world.
With Kadala, my strategy has been to focus on the pieces she offers for 25 shards first, and use upgrade rare on the things that are more expensive from her (typically the jewelry and weapons).
So I'm not quite sure about "don't upgrade rare item on rings," but I guess I can still see the spirit of the advice and take the pool into consideration. To use your example, if I'm missing both a ring and a scythe, you'd suggest I upgrade rare item for the scythe *first* because I'm far more likely to get it?
Perhaps I just go after rings last, when the rest of the build has the required components, which should have elevated me to a high enough difficulty that it's easier to get the materials for upgrading rare items (assuming the missing rings haven't dropped in the process of getting that far).
Your reasoning brought you to my conclusion. If you need 2 items and one is super easy to get (scythes) vs not easy to get (rings) definitely go for scythes first
