Lauren, my heart goes out to you as I can relate to this video so much in ways where I also documented my travels from South Africa to the UK during Covid 19 in August. My hubby and I also stopped over in Doha. The other reasons are I am from South Africa and most of family, pets and friends are back home in SA. We had to leave SA to move back to our other home The UK. It was hard as we didn't say good bye to everyone close to us as it was strict lockdown in August in SA. Anyway, in the same breathe I am so happy that you reunited with your family in Bali. Your moment with Oreo really melted my heart!! Sending you so much love xo

I could not stop crying watching this 😭 I came home from London in March when everything started happening and left half my life there, I’m so happy to be back home in Sydney but literally anything covid related gets me so emotional so I empathise so much with you and your dilemmas! Choosing to come home was so hard but definitely the right decision for me to be home with my family and friends 🥰🥰🥰
I know so many people can relate, which gives me some comfort that were not alone in the struggle ;(- its the trickiest year to have your life in two places !! thinking of you!! hopefully soon life will resume to a more normal state xxxx

I didn't realise you can get back to Bali now! We were meant to be there again last October but obviously we couldn't go! Excited for the world to open up again!
Rumour is that bali opens again for tourists in December... so maybe soon you can :D

I’m so sorry Lauren I feel for you 😭 almost my entire family including my dad lives in Europe and I grew up and live in California for university now. It never bugged me until this year and I wasn’t sure if I could make it to my dads wedding. Two days before my departure my step brother was hospitalized so I was BAWLING on the plane back to CA

If it makes you feel any better, my home and my family is 2h flight away and due to some issues, I couldn’t go visit home in 5 years. Last time my parents visited me was 2 years ago. I was supposed to go finally this year and then Covid happened :( So stay strong at least you could go. Time flies and you will be back with them soon :)

I was due to go back home to the uk in August , hadn’t been home since oct 2018 ... and that obviously didn’t happen 💓 now I’m 16 weeks pregnant with my first and it’s not looking promising to visit or have my family come to Australia any time soon 😭 I feel you, the split love is so hard xx

I think there's a flight from Syd - Denpasar or Auckland - Denpasar operated by Emirates
Not during covid there isn’t, Denpasar international airport is shut, everyone must come through Jakarta :(
Great video, loved the welcome home. Can I ask was economy class full or were there spare seats in between? Looking to complete the same flight soon but budget may not extend to business class.
the flights were all pretty quiet, a few people flying but certainly not a full flight :)

Nope! Bali international airport is still shut! There’s no fights between Brisbane and Jakarta either :(
I think Singapore or Garuda might fly from
Sydney, but likely the flights cancel- whereas Qatar is very reliable

you an enter bali via Jakarta, but you need visa before you depart your country- no visa on arrival.

There's so many direct flight from Australia to Bali, but why do u need to transit first to Doha? oh I see Australia banned all flight from/ to Indonesia during covid?
not because like that... it is bcz all australian airlines are not flying internationally and bali airport is shutdown for international. so you if you wanna go to bali, you have to come to jakarta first.

I am very grateful for everything, but I am still entitled to my own feelings and emotions, someone will always be in a worse of position than you, but doesn't mean you aren't valid to being upset about your own situation.
@@LaurenBullen my comment was not at all geared towards your emotions or geared against anything for that matter. It was just an observation. I know people who have lost everything during these times, people who live in 40 square meters with their families on one salary and other people who could not say goodbye to their parents or grandparents on their death bed due to Covid. I am surrounded by chaos and heartbreaking stories. I then watched your video and realised that not all seem to be that horribly affected.So that is awesome for you! you can consider yourself a lucky person in these difficult times. Please do not get upset about my comment, it was not against anyone and definitely not against anyone having emotions, I am extremely emotional myself..

BNE-DOH-DPS on business class. damn you loaded!. can't even see my kids (real kids) in Bali and its only 3 hrs from where I work in Perth as I can't afford swapping work time to quarantine. jealous much.

no there's ways to get in if you have a sponsor//visa agent! can't be coming in for tourist purposes, so generally people who intend to come and stay for some time.

Why did you have to stop in Doha from brisbane? When I went to Bali I flew straight 6 hours flight from Adelaide to Bali? Is it because of covid? X
yep- covid. no Australian airlines are flying internationally. usually Bali to Brisbane is a 6 hour direct flight multiple times a day. its crazy right now.
