Thank you very much. My dryer’s noise was 10x worse than what you have in your video so I didn’t have much hope that cleaning the blower wheel would help, but after two hours of cleaning the vanes and vacuuming out a couple pounds of lint, the dryer is sooo much better and almost back to sounding new. Thank you!

Thought our rollers or a belt had failed because the banging was so loud. Attempted this as a first troubleshoot and it worked!
Poor design by Electrolux on the blades attracting lint. Glad this put off the need for a new dryer for many more years, and saved an expensive repair visit (neighbor had a recent group out for $400!). Thank you!!

Thank the maker I found this video. My Electrolux dryer recently started makes such a loud noise when running. It felt like the whole house was going to fall down. We were at our wits end, and were even contemplating buying a new dryer just to stop the noise. Found this video and cleaned the dryer! It worked!! My dryer is back to normal. Thank you so much. You saved us the cost of a new dryer. Thank you again!

Pulled out so much lint. Have had this dryer for 5 years, no issues, no noise. But when it started it was awful. Had two techs out. Both said oh its just Electrolux and you should just get used to it. What? Used your advice and you can't imagine how much lint came out and to my surprise a lint dryer sheet was in the mix. Yikes! I couldn't get the wire to work for me so I just got my hand down in there. Tight fit, but it worked well. Thank you so much.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! My 5 year old dryer was so clogged up with lint that I am surprised we didn’t have a fire. I am diligent about clearing the filter after every use but I had no idea there was such a buildup of lint beyond the filter. I thought it was the belt making the rumble noise but I did the steps you recommended and it corrected the problem. I cannot believe that the lint trap hasn’t been recalled. This defect has been corrected on the newer models and you can retrofit your older model with the new parts. I am going to get in touch with Electrolux and show them pics of all the lint that was in the fan and see if they will send me out the replacement parts. I’ll update comment if it works!

Awesome, thanks! I’d actually done this before when we purchased our home with the appliances included for a good deep clean, but the rumbling this time around had me worried about service calls and motors and bearings. There was no gradual buildup, just one load fine and the next sounded awful (though we know now it was this buildup in the fan). Just going to preemptively schedule this every 6 months or so. I can’t believe they let this design pass, and that it hasn’t caused fires!!

Your great previous video that showed how to dismantle the dyer worked for me about a year ago. However after about a year I noticed the rumbling again. I didn’t know about the wire hanger method, and Instead of taking it apart fully I removed the lint housing and used my shop vac on reverse to blow the impeller housing out. It blows some dust around and can be a little messy, but it does work. Just make sure you clean out the vent pipe of lint afterwards. I aIso thought of putting an additional lint filter ( perhaps cut from an hvac filter) inside the housing just past the lint filter but before the blower. The tricky part is holding it in place securely while allowing it to be easily removed to clean or replace. (You do NOT want that sucked into the blower! )Maybe velcro tape would do it.

Pull out the lint trap. Then go get your shop vac and get the long skinny crevice vac attachment for your car. Stick that crevice vac attachment down in there and rotate the blower slightly. Perfect clean in about 2 mins. I can't imagine how the cost hanger would work and/or would take forever. The vac worked perfectly in just a min or tow.
