It looks so great. I want to start restoring as soon as i get electricity bid. Carpenter friend Bob doing the job. He’s brilliant. I want to see all your videos!! Would love any help you can offer. 0:28
Thanks for reaching out! Best advice on these old buildings is to replace any rotten wood that you can. Take care of any earth to wood contact points that could become an issue in the future and take lots of pictures and have fun!
In our neck of the woods we have old tobacco barns that are going by the wayside. It’s great to see folks going in for restoration before they’re too far gone!
Thank you for the comment! I would love to see all the old barns brought back to life, but there are plenty of them out west going by the wayside as well. Did they store dried tobacco there? Was it baled like hay? Awesome! 🤙
I Always Wonder If People Care For These Old Barns Throughout America. Is Awesome To See Someone Is Putting In The Skilled Work To Restore A Time Piece Of Old American History. And Preserve It's Glory For Generations To Come. Without These Buildings We Would Loose The Great American Heritage.
I am glad to hear other people wonder about this too! I don’t see it happening too often where I am (apart from the few barns i have rehabbed), but when I do I get super stoked! Thanks for the comment!
Hi Austin, If I had to guess a price range in today’s market (building materials, labor, etc.) I would say anywhere from $25k to $50k. Note: This job was the restoration of just two walls of the barn.
Pressure treated lumber stands up very well in earth to wood contact situations like this. Wet-set poles in our dry high-desert climate typically last for 40+ years. That being said I think the ideal situation would be to mount heavy metal hangers from Simpson like the CBSQ66 which have a standout base and bolt into the post with SDS screws. That is if the pocket book can handle it. 12 of them runs over $1,000 right not!!! Yikes! I am okay with the 40+ years. Thank you for the comment!
Yeah, the license free stuff from UA-cam is hit or miss. I wish they had more options from artists I listen to at home. Thanks for watching and dropping a comment. Note: The majority of our other videos do not include rap music. Have a great day Joe!

I like the Gate Post at an angle. SLICK RICK!..
It is way cool! Never had a gate open so far!
Great job! Showing this toy boyfriend for barn fix inspiration! Thx!
Thanks Jennifer! I am stoked to hear another barn might get saved! Best to you both!

All The mishap footage cracks me up
Yeah, there is usually quite a few mishaps when working on these old buildings. Have a great summer!!!
Slick baby. you’re a natural. Here in Okie-land they killed off these barn beauties… today we are over run by pole metal barn carnage.
Damn! It’s a shame to hear they are killing them off out there! It’s a total blast work on these old sweeties! Thanks Craig!
Wow
🤙
Love the opening logo after the door falls forward 😊 Where are you located?
Thanks Nikki! North Eastern California
What’s a ball park for what this restoration cost? I can’t imagine a job like this is cheap at all.

Would it not be better to rest the posts atop the footings and not encase them in the concrete?
