For the last past nearly 4 years, I was lucky enough to work in a beautiful Central American country called Belize. But as they say, every good thing must come to an end. I also believe every finish line is the beginning of a new race. I've been sent to work in England and in this video, I explore with you my new home in Maidstone, Kent in England.

Grew up in Maidstone , though the best thing is what's immediately on its door step, the countryside is epic ... Detling . Boxley, Kittts Coty and the Downs , Peneden Heath Woods, Bearsted , the river walk downstream out to Teston / Wateringbury , Mote park is a huge open space , Leeds Castle plus endless little villages w graet pubs etc

Thanks, i think its a lovely town, taking a tour before I can decide to relocate there. Work in London so want to be at least less than an hr's travel to work. I work at home on hybrid so have to be in the office in person at least times a month. So far travelling hrs one way!!!! to attend office.
I guess Maidstone will be perfect for you. You get to London territories in less than an hour.

4.55 you were brave filming up there. Top of Week Street and Brenchley Gardens = a part of the town to avoid. It's so bad I have banned my teenage daughters from that part of town.
Oh ok. I do see a lot of teenagers hanging around the top but didn't think it was that bad. Noted.
Ohhh guys be honest with him, Margate??!!!! Beach yes, town is an absolute toilet, dirty, run down and dangerous! Try broadstairs, Botany Bay or joss bay, waaay nicer! Yup avoid brenchley gardens it’s notoriously unsafe! Lucky you weren’t filming on a day the kids were in town with their balaclavas on, or at 2am when the London gang stabbings happen, or outside the vape/alcohol shops where ADULTS are happy to buy my teen vapes and booze, or in mote park where the kids take their drugs….maidstone is a toilet mate, an absolute toilet 😔 but I do wish you luck in your new life, I genuinely hope you are happy here 😊 (lived here 20 yrs, can’t wait to move away!)

Nice video!! I am quarter Ghanian, I am starting to notice a lot of Ghanaians in Maidstone recently. It’s really nice, as I am very light skinned, they always get shocked when I speak a little Twi hehe!

Maidstone like many places in the UK has some serious challenges, but on the whole the people are good. Now you're there in Kent, go visit Canterbury, Faversham, Margate and if you like proper stunning beaches, honestly check out Botany Bay and Joss Bay, they will make you feel like you're not in the UK

I’m a Canadian and recently got UK citizenship. My late father is from Dover and my wife was born in Leeds. My wife and I love the UK and will be back. We have been all over by rail and car. By and large it seems that the UK is going through the same modern problems that Canada and the US are. Specific to the UK I believe that Brexit was a mistake and shortsighted for many reasons that I won’t hash out here, but the result in part is deepening economic hardship.

Hello Micky, good video. Laidback and considered. It shows me how much the place seems to have changed as I've not been back for around 23 years. I see the town is now predestined and it is especially good to see more of a healthy mix of nationalities. It seems, on the surface, possibly more of an attractive place to be and I hope that your experiences are largely happy and positive.
Hi Brendan. Yes thanks very much for the kind words. Yes Maidstone is now a melting pot of different nationalities. What I couldn't capture was the Eastern European nationals. There are a lot of here. Was it the case 23 years ago? I'm loving it here.
