probably the coolest car in the series
For me, it was always a toss up between this, and the Challenger and Camaro from the second movie.
yeah
my fave. and the line "can I get a copy of that?"
I loved that car in the movie wished it would have lasted longer.
Me too. I almost bought one when I was in high school.
Be sure to read edmunds review on my blog before you buy. Go to *bradleyreviews.com/edmunds-com-review/* Thanks. Forrester.
@@Alanford429 buy the chevelle because these never came in stick shift
@@DiaperSNiFFER they did
@@rtomas47 strange i may have to research into that then
I have a 1970 Monte Carlo, these cars are HUGE.
They aren't as big some cars of the era I had a Buick Electra that would dwarf a monte carlo
Dodge Charger is like a fucking ship man
The electra was 225 inches long hence the name Buick Electra 225
arent chevelle and chargers a big muscle cars too?
@@ishjustcurtis3694 yeah chevelle and chargers are very big and montes are pretty big as well i have a 72 chevy nova and it back than was considered a compact car and weight is around 3100-3200 you can shave some weight on them to if got a fiberglass hood and remove the inner fenders and remove the trunk and replace with fiberglass and yeah the maybe weigh like 3050-3000 but yeah the cars above weigh much more even my nova i would consider a big car and its is also the 2door model but still compared to a monte or chevelle or charger they're like ferrari vs suv not that montes and chevelles are slow you just got to have the right power plant to help them out for how big they are.
That 1971 Monte Carlo was badass. Not too flashy but very ratty which looks amazing. Looked way better than that red Viper and was faster too.
This is one of my favorite Fast and Furious cars.
I'll take it looking just like that
Out of all the 130+ cars in the franchise, this is the only one I wanted to own/drive.
Quickest streetable movie car? I may be mistaken but I believe the 55 Chevy in Two Lane Blacktop was a ten second car (for real, not just in the movie).
Ya that 55 had two carbs and a tunnel ram and was probably using square port heads. That car was insane for its time and still is.
628DirtRooster I think they might for that particular movie dude
The F-Bomb Camaro from fast and furious 4 is also a real built street car, owned by David Freiburger. It has a twin turbo setup built by Nelson Racing, if I remember correctly, and produces 1500 hp (when it works).
I don't know the 1/4 mile time, but it must undoubtly be faster than the chevy from two lane blacktop.
Kasper Nielsen its a 9 second car in the 1/4
Kasper Nielsen that car was a clone
I showed this to a coworkers and he said his honda could whoop it I almost whooped him just for saying that
is his Honda tuned just asking
Big block, until it flips, then it shrinks.
Extremely difficult to flip though.
It's a Zip file.
Thanks for the correction. I always thought they stayed int he bumper. i knew the shapes changed in 71 but not that they moved to headlights in 72. thanks for the clarification
like they say: legends never die, especially the awesome car itself
couldn't agree more. I own a 55 chevy with a very mild 327 that has gotten me 13.8. And you and I are probably the only ones to have ever seen Two Lane Blacktop!
This Monte Carlo with the LSX 454R would be amazing
that's alot of power but they could definitely be putting out way more with that displacement .
One of my favorite cars in the series.
560hp??? That's one mild 509!!!
Its way wrong. Is a 572 bored and stroked to a 632 and is rated at 780 horsepower
@@2zipties1idiotgarage22 The valve covers are fake, there's hasn't been a single 632 in any of the cars built for tokyo drift
@@jean-francoislandry9650 producer Craig lieberman said the cars motor was took to a race shop and bored stroked it to 632 and was rated to 780 crank horses. The rest of the movie cars had truck 350s
@@2zipties1idiotgarage22 ua-cam.com/video/D2eVxzmcTy0/v-deo.html it indeed had a built engine, but that wasn't a 632, it was a 572. This is what I am saying
@@jean-francoislandry9650 yeah the motor wasn't originally a 632. Than it was bored at stroked
MYYYYYY RIIIIIIIIIDEEEEEE
the bumper for 70 have round turning signals the 71 has squared also the back on the trunk has an emblem for 71-72 all in all 70-72 montes are bad ass cant wait till mine is done
4 speed with 4.88 gears? probably tops out at 100 mph.
Try 190 mph.
@@Nightshade_787B NO way it would be redlined around 100.
@@Lray4x4
No. Look up the car from F@F. 1971 Monte Carlo.
You can tell by looking at the signal lights in the front. The 72 signal lights are in the grill the 71 lights are in the bumper.
I want to build one similar to that
austin_ lyston did you ever get around to it?
@@sofa_kingcool985 nope sure didn't
Grilles are different on 70-71-72. The openings get bigger each year.
The '70 has a "round" chrome bezel around the head lights.
The "71-'72 have the same "square" chrome bezel.
The '72 has a chrome piece covering the area under the trunk/above the bumper
- the '70-'71 do not have this piece (except for the SS454, but it is different)
some pics at conceptcarz website
Love this car so much :)
What color is that and the hood I have a 72 what is so different from the 71 and 72
Where can I get the metal components like door panels, where the back seat goes? would like to buy them
@KiNGCOMMANCHE Wheels and tires are from stock car racing.Suspension is probably along the same lines.
@need2speed94 basically it was a drag race with one u turn and the monte had the horsepower to win..it was also stripped out so yeah, viper had no chances
@190 Mph Dammnn that's fast
does anyone know what the mufflers are on that thing or if any thing sounds close to that lease reply!
I want to put these rims on my black 89 Trans am GTA, how do you guys think itll look? they are called Cragar Soft 8 Black Wheels btw
And those rims they are cool to what are they and where can i get them?
does it have wipers
or windows
What a sound
@odysseybmx17 Cragar 397 steel 15-inch wheels. The tires are Goodyear stock-car specials, 27 inches tall and 8 inches wide in front and 27-by-10 inches in the back.
AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The best car in that WHOLE MOVIE!
i thaught they was talkin bout 1987 monte carlo SS lol :P
@HellsAssassinGaming wut website said that it was a 67
That's rad but I'm confused
I have a 78 caprice heavier than this but do 0-60 in 4.1 sec but not 12 in the quarter mile. Best I seen was 13.50 but lifting at 1000 ft
Thats baby hp for a big block. The 70 LS6 chevelle actually made over 500 with a 454. And mild at that!
just got lucky on a barn kept 71 monte for dirt cheap. going to put the rest of my life into this car lol
For sale on eBay now, at least one of them is.
anyone know what wheels?
ahh right cool, thanks !
anyone know what precise transmission is this 4 gear? 700r4? from a corvette or? thanks.
justrockon426 I see on a website it's a Richmond T-10 with a custom knob.
700R4 is a 4 speed automatic and would not handle that engine long.
In the movie they replaced the headlights giving it a different look
Wicked monte!
can anybody tell me whats the difference between a 70 and 71 ??
Strictly business. 💯✌🏾
One of these is for sale in Sweden (; with 454 Chevy Big Block. About 12000$
Lovely
love this car :-)
What kind of shifter is that? I haven't seen one before the movie and would like to know. I haven't found any on any other camaro. It looks very cool, I would like to know. lol
Hurst ratchet shifter
Hurst is more traditional
Austin Wille Yea I don't mind the ratchet ones since it kinda feels like a jet haha but I drive a manual either way a gear stick should be functional
Zack Barnett
its a old school hurst 4 speed shifter with a reverse lock out you can find em on ebay used and at swap meets
The longest hood ever fastened to a Chevrolet car.
Idk man, 73 to 77 had a long ass hood lol
Can anyone please let me know the size of rubber/rims and the type of suspension this thing has if it is aftermarket
Tires/rims are 27x8x15 front and 27x10x15 back and the suspension is all aftermarket.
560 hp out of a big block is actually kind of lame. I'd have gone LS myself, but hey. this car is frickin awesome. Wish it could have lasted more than five minutes into the film. Maybe Sean will get to build up another one in 7?
Yeah me to this is prob one of my favorite cars I can think including Dom's fast five 1970 charger
Gh
Big Block with a carb is way cooler than a LS anyday
Yea but there more reliable when there not built to the gills. Look at these little engine’s running 40 psi of boost, they don’t last long, this thing could hot lap for days and not over heat, or blow up. You always traid reliability for horse power.
Samniss Arandeen image him drifting that monte Carlo instead of the mustang
Remember when Clay said “it goes 0 to 60 in like 4.3 seconds this car is 4.4 seconds
It's a year later but this isn't the hero 1 car the hero 1 car had 760hp and was to do the 1/4 in about 10 seconds or thats what craig lieberman said in the video about the monte carlo
Sweet ass ride. .very pretty...power baby. ..
very nice car!
@jdog942 yeah the monte had both low weight and power to win
is that tanner foust driving it at the end of the video?
probably
I wonder where that Monte Carlo is now...
universal studios in LA rotting
+PuppetMaster it's in the world of war plane crash tour rotting everything I go on the studio tour I cry when I see it
Badass car! I bet it would smoke "akbar's Harley... You ahMAD bro?
Wouldn't mind slapping that engine in my 78 Monte Carlo
It'll fly. Im big blocking my 79. It was wild with just a 406
ive gotta have one
@need2speed94 haha true
they need to do the Dom's charger and the sean's monte carlo
My birthday is on the 24th; I'm gonna start to learn to drive then. For my first car, I've got my eye on a 70' Dodge Charger for just under 40,000. Not bad at all considering what it is.
Gotta love kids with no concept of money
+Nathan Pace lol right? unless his parents are rich or he owns a business😂
+Lee Whitworth
40,000 or just 4,000?
sick bro but you could get a monte carlo like that one
+Nathan Pace he didn't say how old he is? He could be 40 learning to drive?
It's a 71 grill and 70 front bumper.
these are big cars
@PL3690 Displacement isn't everything. But without a doubt, even though vipers handle like shit, a viper would handle Much better than and old full steel body, iron big block Monte Carlo. Hands down. But in a 1/4, the Monte Carlo would come out on top for many reasons. (power, reinforced chassis, slicks).
I want one so bad
Put it up against Falfa's 55 Chevy, 454 dual quad tunnel ram ala two Lane blacktop
They came with their own zip code...
yup nothing batter than pure american muscle
Nunca entendi a pintura dele
that car is just raw and mean.
The last generation of monte Carlo rolled off on 2007
they need to reduce a parts list for this so i can make an identical replica.
70 71 72 were pretty much exact. almost had to be an enthusiast or check vin numbers to tell. Im in the middle of making mine into this beast
All balls and no paint!👍
Its actually rated to 780 horsepower
LOVE this car... but the shifter looks like its attached with duct tape
because i like this one.
holy shit it is Tanner
can I by the Monte Carlo pllzz
Pause at 1:19, Tanner foust? I think so anyway...
Everytime I imagine about murica car
@HeroSavage dude i do have my own car its a 99 firebird and im going to school to be a tec soo i think i can respect horse power
Not realy, I think they just removed all the chrome parts + the Nascar wheels.
I never got why the car got dissed in the movie anyway. You know it's hollywood when a kid in highschool has a car like this and no one appreciates it
@tackiee9 '70 Monte Carlo
Maaaa ride
1/4 mile 12 seconds? You better watch George Gallimore first generation full steel car doing 8 seconds in a 1/4 same motor. I got a 11.9 in my 71 last weekend, full steel 454, all motor, didn’t hit nitrous.
Rooster Blues that’s pretty good. Perhaps you know of the “Farm Truck” (and I think there’s a few of them), but the one I saw in Tulsa back in 2010 at the midnight drags was no joke. He ran high 11s/low12s all night, then at the end he challenged my buddies diesel drag truck. They both ran mid 10s, Farm Truck hit the nitrous for that race and just barely lost. My friend was very good at building his little 4 cylinder diesel truck, looks like a NASCAR truck, smoked like a freight train lol. He won some hellacious races, suprised a lot of people. Good memories back in the day at Tulsa Raceway
Gearbox looks like a throttle.
Not true. 70, round signals, 71, rectangle signals, 72, the signals were moved up to beside the headlights.
Did he just say 725 horsepower?
560hp out of a big block? Thought it was making like 700+ or something.
Its true but this specifically has the 509 with 560 hp and the another one has the 572 bored and stroked to a 632 with 780 hp
i saw that monte carlo in real life.
