Just watched this so I could find out why since using it yesterday my blade own't go up or left/right. I could here the pump run but nothing going on. Mechanic told me to check the selanoid. Seems like it died on me I found after checking voltage on it. I do all my own maintenance on this plow, I thought, until I saw how much detail you go into doing an oil change. I am a slacker. You did not mention putting dielectric grease on the selanoid connections. Would that be necessary? I guess in the summer I have some cleaning to do. Thanks for this video. So very informative on what I should be doing.
THEORY ASWELL AS HANDS ON. ABSOLUTELY 💯 % AWESOME TAKE TIME AND WATCH THIS VIDEO. EXCELLENT EXPLANATIONS ASWELL STEP BY STEP HANDS ON WITH A GREAT VIDEO. THIS CHANNEL BY FAR IS DEFINITELY 👍 1 OF THEE VERY BEST.
+Charlie Bourret Thanks for checking us out! Safety is the top priority and we hope this video keeps everyone plow as safely as possible! 1aau.to/m/Shop-1AAuto-c
You should never, never, never, use TEFLON TAPE on petroleum-based products as it breaks down and dissolves. And never on flared fittings. That is why they are FLARED to prevent leakage.BUT everything else great show and tell
The information on this Fisher plow was very good tips, but I have a Meyers E85H that will not turn left or right so I thought I replaced the motor solenoid, the male and female couplers, the (2) filters, drained the fluids, replaced three A, B, C solenoids, and it's still not turning so I am about to replace both Angle Ram Cylinders, Hoses.
Great video by far the best one I've watched. I've watched a lot of these freaking things trying to figure out what's going on with my Fisher MM2 8' HD(straight blade) done the fluids, filter, seal's, Hook the plow up everything works fine pick it up turns left and right. All of a sudden I hit left the plow goes up no matter what I do the plow won't turn left again for a period of time and then all of a sudden either maybe from shutting it off or letting it sit I don't really know then all of a sudden it'll turn left again and then a little while later it won't nothing like when you're trying to plow something and your plows stuck all the way to the right angle won't go left lol. Just doesn't make sense that every time it's hooked up and it's tested it works fine and then let's say I hook the plow up the night before I get in it the next day randomly it won't turn left right when I hop in and use it been trying to figure it out all season so frustrating. Maybe someone's had this issue or can point me in a direction that possibly I haven't looked or checked appreciate it.
We have a similar set up, same truck and plow. I have everything connected and I think I checked everything, when I go to move the plow the lights in the cabin dim and the plow won’t move.
Thanks for tips. .question my plow when im pushing snow shift to one side when snow built-up without me touching the control. What should i check or replace?? Thanks again
+Andrew Shagoury Thank you for your question. Dielectric grease, or tune-up grease, is a silicone-based grease that repels moisture and protects electrical connections against corrosion. It is also used to keep dirt, water, and other elements out of electrical connections. Hope this helps.
Mine works well for a few cycles then becomes sluggish then stops working entirely when it's 20° outside. Works fine in warmer weather. Found out there was ice in the reservoir, because nothing came out when I removed drain plug. Had to heat up the pump with heat gun before it would drain. Drained it and filled with available power steering fluid (all I had on hand in a storm). It worked fine for the rest of the day. The next day, it worked for about a minute and then became sluggish and finally quit working at all. Just the motor spinning like no load attached. I believe there is more water in system. Any ideas how to get all the water out?
You ever figure out what the problem was? I've been chasing an issue where it works fine I park it for a little bit and I pick it up I hit left to turn left and it goes up. No matter what I do the left control will not turn the plow back left again I've been trying to figure this out for the whole season It's a real pain in the butt It works fine and then all of a sudden it doesn't like I just don't get it.
Just put a western unimount on my 2000 Dodge Ram 1500. It rides great, put 600 lbs ballast in back , maybe gonna get leveling kit 2” in front #safesidetreatments @safesidetreatments

This is by far the best demonstration on how to service your plow. Properly explained with very good video clarity.
Thanks,
Frank.
Thanks alot . You need to show if your not getting power to plow . Thanks again
Thanks for the nice and to the point video. Some others do videos to show off and not show us to do something.
Very good thank you. My plow is acting up and this video gives me everything i need to know!
Good video, great personality. I like you guys for selling best parts and teaching people how to do things.
loved the hydrophobic ending

Thanks for showing us the system.
What did you spray on the plow?
Could you give examples of why we clean the motor, in terms of performance issues.

Are you sure about that sealant on the threads?
hydraulic hose threads should have a petroleum grade sealer rather than one for water lines. Otherwise, an excellent informative video!
which "hydrophobic" spray did YOU use, and which others would you recommend?
No answer for this question???
Pam
Will this work on western plow
Thank You for this information

great video! do you happen to have a video that talks about lights dimming while using the plow?

Love your verchil
Real nice set up. What year is that Ram?
Thanks for tips. .question my plow when im pushing snow shift to one side when snow built-up without me touching the control. What should i check or replace?? Thanks again
What size hex socket did you use to unscrew the drain plug and the check screw?
Great job 👏 well done video
What spray was used to clean the electrical connectors?

What’s it mean when the truck voltage drops when moving plow up/down/left/right? Then it’ll immediately go back up from 9 to 14

Very accurate and polite explanation
I'm having the same issue. And the wind-chill is -20 or something ridiculous. It's an old style Meyers plow with no drain plug..
Put my plow on today and it clicks, but won’t raise or turn. Unsure what it is.. have a fisher mm2 3 plug

Never put Teflon tape on plow lines it is not needed and will ruin the pump

Weird the fluid changes color….
