    Do you tend to report all the data in a chart in Writing Task 1? In this video, I will use the bar graph in Cambridge IELTS 15 Test 1 to show you a magic method that allows you NOT to report every single piece of data in a graph.
    The chart below shows the results of a survey about people’s coffee and tea buying and drinking habits in five Australian cities.

      I can't recall the exact thing but it read something like this: "it is thought that encouraging reading of story books in children is better than they having to spend much time watching television or playing video games."

    In the overview, can we say the two main features are 1)having tea or coffee in a cafe is the most popular + 2)buying fresh coffee is a less significant habit in all cities? May i know if the second observation is ok?

      But I can argue that buying instance coffee is a less common habit, can't I? I think it's more accurate to say that buying fresh coffee is the least common habit in all five cities.

      "Less likely than" is a type of language used in statistics, so it's actually very good for task 1.

    Can we use the word fluctuated between ... to.... for this bar graph?
    Eg: the coffee intake for three cities (Brisbane, Adelaide, Hobo) fluctuated between 20% and 40%.
    I'm freaking out. PLEASE Reply

      Hi, I don't think you can. To fluctuate means to change continually. However, those percentages don't change. They're just different from each other.

    I know that you've mentioned the difference between Adelaide and the other five cities in the overall but shouldn't I mention it again in the detail paragraph 1?and can I say that "in Adelaide both going to a cafe and buying instant coffee leveled off at nearly 50%? Can I say that the percentages of people who bought instant coffee fluctuated

      No, you shouldn't use 'level off' and 'fluctuate' for a chart that doesn't show trends.

    Dear Madam,
    "with those in Brisbane and Adelaide, both at nearly 35%, less likely than those in the other three cities to do so." I have not understood properly. Could please write those sentences in actual form. That means that you have written it in short form by reducing the large one. I would like to see it actual sentence get better, please. Thank you.
