Being London born and bred and an expatriate for forty years, discovering your accomplished body of work has been both sadly nostalgic and rewarding. Worth noting is Londoners' passionate conservancy of their green spaces. I originally hail from Barnet and have walked Hadley since childhood; and now watching your Hampton Wick video where I lived across the road from Bushy Park in the '80's it is as though I never left. This is strangely very reassuring to me.
You're living my life John. Thames Path. Sponsored stay in a Posh Pub. London Pride. Other than me, there's nobody deserves it more than you mate. Thanks for another great film.
I absolutely loved this watching you enjoy yourself so much was a real joy the place looks amazing. The weather is beautiful to. What a wonderful channel thanks so much 😊
Love what you said about school trips. The first and only time I visited Hampton Court was on just such a trip over 50 years ago. I expect it cost a lot less than £23.70 then. With prices like that, I wonder If school trips are viable at all nowadays. It has gradually crept up on us, this squeezing every penny out of every situation, and making everything unaffordable. Grrrr. I remember when you could catch a Salters Steamer from Oxford to London, stay at swanky hotels, meet Agatha Christie, eat fish and chips in Henley and still have change from half a crown.
So soothing. I visited Hampton Court Palace last year and took the boat back to Richmond. Great experience. Now I can experience it again even back home in the Netherlands during semi lockdown. Many thanks.
This is my favourite video of yours. One reason is l lived in Molesey for many years and the other is the White Hart holds a special place in my heart.
Fullers - best mass produced London beer IMHO. the food looked stunning too - I used to ride past that pub each night on my way home when I worked in Teddington and never went in. Great video John.
well john, i enjoyed your walk very much indeed, my wife and i used to live in kingston and have done the walk from kingston bridge to hampton court many times ,i think this is the best walk in the uk, we live now on the surrey hampshire border where we have lovely countryside....but we miss this thames walk very much and we have to come back from time to time because we love it so much. thankyou very much and we must try that food in the fullers pub which looked fantastic.
When I saw it was a sponsored post, I didn't think I would enjoy it, but I really did. Ha - "Follow the Pint" - you're about to start a new trend, John (and I'm not telling my husband).
Eel Pie Island is worth a visit next time you’re in the region. As I recall a lot of it is private. Still, It’s got a very special vibe. The Rolling Stones played there to crush crowds early in their career and so many other rock artists of the era, Rod Stewart, the Yardbirds, Joe Cocker, Pink Floyd, David Bowie, and the Who to name some played there when they were fresh and new.
Thanks for that Eric, would definitely like to go back for a look at Eel Pie Island, saw the documentary on the BBC recently, really brought its musical heritage to life
Played my first gig in the White Hart in 1997 when I was in sixth form. Can't remember anything about it except trying to split 30-odd quid from the door, four ways
Thank you John once more for a fantastic video. I have done this walk numerous times with my friend who lives in Hampton Wick and I always find it delightful. Glad you had a sponsored walk and just reward for your wonderful output that is always appreciated. Looking forward to your next video
Your films are lovely and very interesting John! Are you walking on your own always? I do walk with my partner, occasionally on my own and I don't like to walk alone 😣 We are watching all your videos, well done ! This weekend I will finish my 1500 miles target for this year ,so happy 👣👣
Well done on the 1500 miles Ka - great achievement. I do enjoy walking alone, gives me time to think. But also enjoy company too - did two walks this week with other people and it was great
What a delight to see that you made it to Hampton Court my favorite place. Full of ghosts shame they didn't make an appearance.. Ha. Keep up the interesting filming you put together.
What a fantastic video. I have been to Hampton Court many times and it was fantastic as always with you sharing your incredible knowledge. Incidentally I worked at a care home down at West Molesey known as The Summers a beautiful care home. This has got to be the most memorable videos I have ever seen and one which has been the most enjoyable too. I used to take both the 111 to Hampton Court and then wait for the not so regular 411 to West Molesey. Nevertheless I was amazed at the the whole experience and your room was literally wow beyond the word. As I love cycling so much I have twisted your words and I now designed my own logo which reads "JOIN ME ON MY NEXT BIKE RIDE WHEREVER THAT MAY BE". Love you John and I look forward to seeing you wherever that may be.
Staggered home from twickenham/richmond on that path back to Ham on many a drunken night! Reason why the path stays on that side of the river I imagine is simply down to the fact there houses backing on to the river the other. I do miss living there.
Hi John. Always such a pleasure to watch every episode of that wonderful series of yours. Re the Hampton Wick foray, wasn't Monty Python's famous 'Fish slapping dance' filmed at Teddington Lock? Keep up the great work, mate. Cheers from Brussels
Bloody great walk John. I do this walk quite often living round that part of the world. Nice tasteful bit of sponsored content too ;) being a Fullers fan i approve.
lovely film, hotel and route; carried along by your infectious enthusiasm, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks so much. I think that big tree was a London Plane. They grow huge where there's plenty of water at the root.
Fullers have struck Gold with giving you the job of reviewing their bricks and mortar, hopefully we can say you'll be doing another review of one of their hotels , intrigued how the viewing figures have gone on web searches for that particular room.
For those who maybe interested the book Somnium is by Steve Moore probably better known as a writer for comics and not Johannes Kepler who also wrote a book with the same title (latin for The Dream).
I love riding my bicycle from Farnborough, down the Basingstoke Canal to Byfleet where it meets the River Wey, into Weighbridge on to the River Thames and towards Hampton Ct. Never been any further cause to turn around and ride back is 54 miles and the return ride is mainly uphill! 😅
I am very jealous, great walk, great beer, superb steak and a wonderful room. BTW half way through your book, this other London, love the imagery and the history. I feel like I've actually completed the same walks... From my armchair. Thank you John.
Wonderful experience going for the walk with you John! The nearest place to this I have visited is Heathrow Airport about 20+ years ago, ha ha!!! Thoroughly enjoyed the walk!
Thank you John for a very interesting Video and how nice that you have risen to this level in your years of taking us along with you to these amazing walks. There's Lyn and me trying to lose weight and you tempt us with such lovely food. Good luck and keep them coming. Dave and Lyn from Down Under.
Glad to see you finally got to do a multi-day walk and use your new big back pack, John. What a result you had getting paid to stay in that lovely pub ! Living the dream 👍
Eel pie island is a unique little island ,there was a hotel that once stood there but unfortunately was burnt , many of the rock and roll greats performed there including the Rolling stones, and Pete Townshend of the who lived in the large georgian house almost opposite from 1968.
Still catching up on your journeys john And wow what a loverly vlog, I think you have well deserved that stay! and you do make me laugh with your gloating to the wife lol brilliant.
John Rogers bubble bath would’ve been overflowing if I’d had a bath there😜. I watched a documentary about Dave Gilmour and he was inside the floating studio, so good to se it in situ.
Only recently found your channel and I'm really enjoying it. Born & raised in Hampton, my first 2 years 'on site' as an apprentice decorator were at Hampton Court Palace and Bushy Park. BTW it's MOLEsey not MOSEley!
Wow John, loved this video. Took me 3 days to find the time to watch a 40 minuter....... Thank you. Well worth it for your enthusiasm. Have you considered Veganuary at all ? Just a thought !
Many thanks- I know it’s a bit of an epic. Hadn’t heard of Veganuary, not particularly realistic for me cooking for a family of carnivores but appreciate the suggestion
It’s very Good-Mail JR, I’d love to see you film & review all the great European City’s like you did with Modena or even Australia with your distinctive subtle casualness you would fit in well down-under. “Travel sponsor alert needed Post Covid”
The river, the palace, the park, the hotel - what a treat. Thanks for sharing.
Delightful. John Rogers, author, rambler and influencer.
Overall top guy
Thank you for the beautiful memory of my 37 years of married life in hampton wick
Your enthusiasm in this video is infectious. And the menu wasn’t laminated. Classy!
i don't know why, but it makes me happy seeing you happy - especially at that hotel! the trifecta of good food, bed, and drinks!
What a lovely time you and all of us have had watching this John. So see you again ‘wherever that may be’.

What have you done, John, to deserve being pampered like that ??...he-he.
Best video yet, for me.
I was born and lived in Petersham. I walked this trail many times to Hampton.
Thanks John. Another great walk...with Beer ..what else could a walker want. Fame at last..
Thanks James - I thought I was in walkers' heaven
Wow what a lovely mini break
Nice video John. Nice to see other people doing things for someone like you.

So soothing. I visited Hampton Court Palace last year and took the boat back to Richmond. Great experience. Now I can experience it again even back home in the Netherlands during semi lockdown. Many thanks.
We need a whole series of pub/hotel walks!
This is my favourite video of yours. One reason is l lived in Molesey for many years and the other is the White Hart holds a special place in my heart.
Took this exact path some 15 yrs ago. Thanks for bringing back the memories, John.
Enjoy your walk and treat. Love your informative videos
Fantastic John. A different but fascinating film. Thanks 👍

What a wonderfull way to spend a couple of days...Woderfull John,, thanks for taking me along
"Started a bit late in the day, really." I sense a theme there ... ;)
Great video, as always.

As children we used to swim across the river to Twickenham swimming pool.

At least you visited my favourite area John! I made this wonderful walk more than thousand times I think. Lovely
Can't believe it took me so long to explore this area. Looking forward to the next stretch from Moseley
@@JohnRogersWalks Trust me it will be very inspirational too !
When I saw it was a sponsored post, I didn't think I would enjoy it, but I really did.

Yep Long John Baldry - circa 1970 aged 16 !
John, that was absolutely fantastic!! Thanks mate.
thanks for watching Ralph
I wish I had known John, I live up the road in Hampton and would have popped over to say hallo and buy you a beer.
I don't think he was in need of anyone buying him a beer by the look of it. He could have given you one or two on the house.
great hotel! nice video overall. Thank you!
Thanks Syed, my pleasure

Well, I always try to end my "New Forest" walks at a pub but your video certainly made me feel hungry! Great stuff.
Four poster, Hampton Court and Pink Floyd Studio what an Oddessey, thanks a million .....
Thank you for posting... John always interesting

Know this area very well. Sister and best friend lived just over the bridge. Fullers is my favorite
I can't think of anyone who is more deserving of this pinch of luxury! Just walking to Waltham Abbey as we speak.
Wonderful John.......enjoy👍
thanks Stephen

David Gilmoure's studio boat. Nice.
So glad Sue pointed that out to me
Mashaa Allah for your sponsorship, we are equally as thrilled

I am now booked to stay a night at the White Hart Hotel next year , thanks for your review
Brilliant- hope you have a great time
Wonderful experience going for the walk with you John! The nearest place to this I have visited is Heathrow Airport about 20+ years ago, ha ha!!! Thoroughly enjoyed the walk!
That 'Majestic' boat was David Gilmour's studio, The Astoria, I believe.
FANTASTIC
It was the sticky toffee pudding that compelled me to sign up to the fullers email list. There is a Thames path walk to a pub meal in my future!
great to hear Kathleen, you won't be disappointed

It's great Julie - I still dream of it
Really enjoyed your trip. :-) Looked like you had a great time.
Eel pie island is a unique little island ,there was a hotel that once stood there but unfortunately was burnt , many of the rock and roll greats performed there including the Rolling stones, and Pete Townshend of the who lived in the large georgian house almost opposite from 1968.
My friend won a night in that hotel. Not sure how though. Possibly a raffle. Anyway, best suburb of London been there for 20 years. Great place.
Great video John. Makes me want to visit.
thanks Tomas - it's well worth it
I cannot wait to be back in London in a couple weeks and take in a pint or few of London Pride!!
Still catching up on your journeys john And wow what a loverly vlog, I think you have well deserved that stay! and you do make me laugh with your gloating to the wife lol brilliant.

Great video again, John. btw it looked more like a London Plane at 3:40 - they can get very big. Perhaps someone can correct or confirm.
thanks for the note CC
amazing video
Excellent 🥰
Love your suite.
Well played 👍🏻
