I am 66 and have DDD and started keto lifestyle back last Feb and have lost 50 pounds so far . I now wear a 6 petite . I am wanting to know what the snack is that Stone has in front of him and also what is the shake or drink he is drinking please? I am asking because I have spent a lot of my savings on keto products and love perfect keto and keto chow and also choc zero products . You all look great !! Sure is nice to get healthy even though I am old now sure feels good to look and feel younger and healthy . Wish I had not let myself go because of sadness and life choices and just giving up . God bless and I agree never going back . I grown kids hate that I don’t cook good ole country sugar food any longer but it is what it is . Time to work and take time on me for a change

I'll apologize for this long post in advance.
I gained weight after losing vestibular nerve (balance nerve) to a brain tumor. I had to re-learn to walk. 14 years later I still can't walk a straight line. Before surgery I walked 5 miles every weekday with a friend. Then several miles every day in the course of the day as a lady farmer. Now walking any distance past 1/4 mile makes me physically and mentally tired. I have to concentrate on being upright. Hard to explain how hard it is to have to think about each step I take and the fatigue it causes. I can get in a mile using hiking sticks. I can struggle my way uphill. Can't go down hill with out assistance.
December 2019 I had to have a knee replacement. The ends of the bones were breaking away. I worked hard 3 months leading up to the surgery to lose weight. Lost 30 pounds. Complications have left me with partially paralyzed leg, hip and lower back pain from the pull the leg puts on them. I have a brace from knee down to keep my foot from flipping over and a back brace for when I walk, go to grocery store or do house work. My knee no longer hurts 24/7 but I'm even less mobile. I gained back those hard lost pounds plus 7 more.
It's depressing to have gone from fit and active to semi invalid. I've got a recumbant bike and pedal 6-8 miles every couple days.
I've set myself a challenge to walk every road in our hollow between January first and the first day of spring. I've been trying to build stamina since November and have dropped 10 pounds. There's about 7 miles. About half are steep and we can only go up in a 4 wheel drive truck. Counting my hiking sticks I'm calling that me being 4 wheel drive. I plan on having my husband string rope on down hill parts to use as a rail. I used to be able to walk them all in about 2 hours.
I'm not complaining. I got up this morning breathing. With out God and good surgeons who prayed over me before surgery I'd have been gone in 2007. God left me here for a purpose. Right now I'm taking a break after about 30 minutes of housework. 30 minutes work with 30 minutes sitting is my norm now. I can't work cows as I can't move fast enough. I kinda feel useless alot of the time. I think if I can get my physical body in better shape it will help my spiritual life. I spend too much time worrying about what I can no longer do.
I need to aim at getting in BETTER physical health NOW and not try to do what I used to be able to do. I let past memories of the old me hinder where I am now. Something Jay said made me realize this. I can not get back there but I can get in a new better shape. At 60 that's my hope.
I think I'll take Jay's challenge to make myself sweat every day. Right now I only break a sweat 2 or 3 days a week.
PS... I have a walking secret for bad weather. I go to Home Depot and get a cart to use for balance and I walk. Small town version of a mally. I can walk farther on the smooth surface than on our bumpy country road or farm roads and trails.

I agree with Si as I too have COPD from smoking. I have stopped smoking but like Si said when you over do it no fun. I do know that there is a God as the heavens and earth just didn't go poof and it was here. Jesus is our savior as he was born on earth lived among humans and died for our sins and risen into heaven. I do need to take up Jay's advice as do need to get somewhat in better shape. Enjoyed the show and thanks.

I strongly disagree, and it’s very unfortunate that you feel this way. In all, this podcast is about building people up in the faith; and at the end of the day, that’s what matters most- not someone’s economic background. Furthermore, Ephesians 4:29 says, “Don’t use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them.” It’s true you may not like all parts of this podcast, however, you can express that discontent in a way that’s constructive, not dispiriting. Even more, if you’d like to contribute to the betterment of this podcast you could 1. mention topic ideas you would like them speak on, or 2. make suggestions on how they could improve the overall quality of the podcast. May God continue to bless you, the cast, and all listeners of the 4:8 Men podcast ❤️
