- Reluctant "Duck Dynasty" star and "Unashamed" podcast host Phil Robertson joins Christian to talk about why he walked away from a pro football career and encouraged his backup QB, Terry Bradshaw, to take his place. Phil also talks about the decision to turn his life over to the Lord. Over 45 years ago, Phil's sister said to a pastor about her brother: "If you convert him, he'll convert thousands." Phil tells Christian he never thought he'd be speaking to the world about Jesus Christ, but it's one of the great joys and privileges of his life, and he's fired up about Jesus returning! Phil's son, Al Robertson, joins the conversation to share his childhood experience of watching countless young men drift toward his dad to ask for advice and instruction. While Phil wasn't following Jesus at that time, it was an incredible foreshadowing of Phil's future leadership in sharing the Gospel. @@jsshay01 Christianity is just like any other drug, it allows its users to escape reality. I don't need Jesus, just like I don't need heroin. You think I'm spreading gloom but I'm really just trying to get you to kick the drug. You're like an addict that gets mad when I point this out.
Galatians 5-22-23 was the scripture I leaned on to beat drugs. I prayed Lord, I have some of the fruits but absolutely no self control. It wasn't immediate, but shortly I had self control. A BLESSING I will always acknowledge and share.

You know, back then and in your frame of mind with drinking, that money for football would of been drank away. Love your message. I can relate, I quit drinking 14yrs ago.. God is Good.
What I love about Phil is he takes the "be a witness" at face value. Too many times we try to be the attorney when talking about God, meaning we try to be convincing. A witness just tells what they've seen and heard. Then they let the Holy Spirit do the convincing
