Here’s an easy way to bleach palm oil without choking or filling the house with smoke: Pour palm oil into a pot with a glass cover that has NO steam hole (that small hole on a pot cover that allows steam escape). Use medium low heat for 10 - 15 minutes, depending on the quantity. DO NOT OPEN THE POT AT ANY TIME; you can watch the oil change colour through the lid. When it has changed colour, turn off the heat but still keep the pot closed for 15 mins. There you have it: bleached palm oil with minimal fire risk & choking hazard.
Sighs I miss my African roommates! In college I was very blessed to live with Ghanian and Nigerians! Oh my goodnes the foooooddd!!!! Sighs please send me some! Love all the way from Trinidad and Tobago 🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹
OMG! I tried this recipe today and it was absolutely delicious! I even made goat meat peppered soup with assortment meat. I'm a born & raised Jamaican living in the US who happens to love Ghanaian & Nigerian cuisine.. 😋 Good thing there is an African Market located close to where I live. 🇬🇭 🇳🇪 ❤
You are speaking my love language with the eggs soaked in stew. Pro tip: when you blend the pepper, if you don’t have time to boil out the water, just pour it into a sieve, like the ones you use for flour and all the liquid drains out, thereby reducing boiling time. Looks delicious
Excellent recipe. I am Ivorian but love to travel through food. I salivated so much that I made it for my family. We enjoyed it with rice and fried yam. Thanks Yemi.
I worked with a few Nigerian doctors in my country Trinidad and they would cook their native food for us and I feel in love. It was so mysterious and different I always was so intrigued. Now I can learn more about this lovely food Thank you so much for this fun channel. You made it so homely. 💕💯💯💯
When you are going through difficult times in your life, don't isolate yourself. There are people who have been through what you might be facing right now and they overcame it. Don't push people away, surround yourself with people who are spiritually mature and get the help that you need. Isolation when you are in pain and don't know if there's a way out is dangerous and that's why we have suicide cases. Listen, there's nothing that you can be facing that God is not able to solve for with God nothing is impossible. Hold on. Jesus loves you.
The pepper 🫑 is going to enter the chicken 🍗 the chicken 🍗 is going to enter the pepper 🫑 😂😂 I’m Haitian learning how to cook for my Nigerian husband, ayamase is my husband favorite.
Hello 👋 Mrs. Sisi Yemmie, I want to try cooking this dish because my husband is Nigerien and I am African American. I tried cooking this dish for my husband but, you were Not! Being pacific about the amount of seasonings, how much locust beans to add and how much crayfish. Please tell your audience what exactly for us to add. I add a little to much of the locust beans. But it was nice. The beans just took over some. Thank you 4 your recipe 😊
This is one sauce I'm looking forward to try. And my five years old daughter loves watching your videos. And sometimes she asks me Mama when are you cooking that lady's food on the phone.
Hey dear, i discovered your channel because of my 5yrs old daughter who enjoys cooking tutorials and African food. We've been watching 4-5 videos in a row without being bored. Thanks to you now i know what to put in my week's food plan. No more guessing 😍🥰🥰
I’ve only heard good things about Nigerian food. As a South African who loves richly flavored food I’m so glad I stumbled on your channel. I’ll try to prepare my own Nigerian dishes. By the way this chicken dish looks amazing. 🤤
I also had not tasted ayamase in Nigeria. My first time was in New York and ive been introducing nigerians here to it to because i dont understand how we've spent so much time in Lagos over the years yet we've never tasted it in Nigeria lol
Hi Sisi Yemmie. Can I blend the Iru or use Ogiri Opei as a substitute for iru cos I don’t like seeing it in food. Thank you for all your amazing recipes.
The best Ayamase in the entire world is made in Ikenne by the inventor (shey inventor is the correct word) of the soup. I did some schooling in Ikenne. That small car park AKA garage where the lady sold Ayamase and rice in leaves. Oh mai daiz! God is really good.
omg, if anyone had asked me if i would ever like to try to make ayamase in my house, my answer would be no, but after watching this fam, we are trying this recipe out.
Omg this sauce!!!!!! I could so relate when you talked about setting the house ablaze whilst bleaching the oil. Lmao I've had one too many escapades with that! ♥️♥️
Booking my flight and coming to stay with you!!! 😁😁❤ I'm glad it's chicken and not pork. Bless you for teaching us all how to cook this delicious wholesome meal.😇😋😋

Great job as always Sisi Yemi. Quick tip to remember for your subscribers is to cover the pot of oil when heating it so smoke does not fill up the whole house.

It's the '...so that the chicken and stew can communicate' for me!! I've never smiled so recklessly. I love your narrations!!
