    Great Video, but in the examination of the postero-lateral/medial movements you touch the zero-mark with your toes. In the explanation you're doing it right and touch it with your heel.

      True. Good eye.

      @@Physiotutors it was a nice catch. And, the question remains as to what is the proper setup. I believe the study you reference used a fixed foot and a professional device. So, if we are going to use absolute ranges, I'm concerned that I'm not sure which mehtod of foot placement to use. I suspect it won't matter if we normalize to leg length or simply get a percentage side to side.

    Agreed, I read the study from Butler et al. (2013) and was in an American college football player scored below 89.6%, he was 3.5 times more likely to get injured. Not 98.6%

      Thanks for pointing this out! I probably got lost in translation.

    I translate this video to Japanese because this channel is very useful!! In Butler's study "below 98.6%~" is wrong, 89.6% is correct when I read paper. how about?

    The intro song is a little bit too loud in my oppinion, if you compare it to the rest of the video. Maybe turn the volume of it down just a little?

    Sir please give the reference of using this mircropore tape method for y balance , as there are almost nill studies . The only studies done are on the Y balance equipment, as i want a cost effective , if you could share the link of the tape method for y balance which is shown in your video. Thank you

    Thank you for the video ! How do you measure "leg length" ? Foot extended lying on the ground or from the ground standing ? And to what : anterior superior iliac spine or the head of femur ?

    • @nevertoonate
      @nevertoonate 4 роки тому

      True leg length is from the ASIS to the Medial Malleolus and apparent leg length is from the umbilicus to the medial malleolus.

    Thanks for this video. But what is the interpretation of this test???

    Hi, thank you for this helpful video. Why do we have to change the foot placement between the anterior reach and the posteromedial and posterolateral reaches? I have seen studies where the subjects has to place the center of his foot in the middle of the three tapes for all reaches. What is the most recommended? Thank you !

    How to examine the leg lenght? From SIAS to medial malleolus?

    • @Physiotutors

      www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2628227/. Functional leg length difference can be examined with the Weber-Barstow test.

    I miss the standards to evaluate the results with my patients. Where can i find it?

    • @Physiotutors
      @Physiotutors  5 років тому +1

      The goal is to evaluate left and right side for each direction and to calculate percentages for the leg symmetry index.
      There are no standard values

    I check the postural control through y balance test .my question is dominance matter or not ??? in normal individual
    right and left dominance is vary the result? and it affect the balance .if any article presently say this thing could you send me?

    • @Physiotutors
      @Physiotutors  4 роки тому +1

      That may certainly affect your test results but with regards to sports performance limb symmetry is a desired goal so you’d aim to develop equal results for both legs
