Great video! I was planning on buying the challenge x but ended up buying the new GT Omega Sprint. I would love to see a side by side comparison as the gt omega seems a bit more sturdy and still folds the same
Thanks for the video. How tall are you? Just to get an impression of how one could be fitting to the seat in comparison. And then: How old is your audience? 2 cheveaux? Who knows this still? In Germany it was famous as „Ente“ (duck). But Young people may have a hard time to get it. ;) P.S.: 3k eta wen?
1m73. I was 1m74 but gravity is a nasty thing 😎 The duck, goat, 2cv is a classic, they should teach in school about it!! 😏 or watch a movie with Louis de Funes 😎 3k is pending but I am sure it will be there soon. I was just in Dortmund btw. I didn't know it was legal to smoke hasjiesj in public there 😈
Excellent comparison review. I have the T818 base and the TM T-LCM pedals, can you tell me if both cockpits are drilled for direct application without any need for adapters? Thanks.
I have measurements for T818 65mm by 77mm. On both seats, it can be bolted only with 2 bolts (without the TM adapter). for tlcm, I have 235mm by 220mm and it can be attached on both with 4 bolts.
I ended up buying the Playseat Challenge X and I'm quite satisfied, but to apply the T818 I had to drill holes in the base plate. The standard drilling does not provide for the T818, which requires holes with spacings of 63 and 79 mm. The only flaw I find in the Challenge X is always placing the steering wheel too high. The tube that supports the steering wheel should be 5 cm shorter in height.
Thanks for taking the time to get back on this. So not even with 2 bolts you could attach the T818 out of box?? That sucks. Yes, tubular profiles and height of steering wheel is still an innovation we are awaiting for. At least one that is user-friendly. Thanks again 💙
@@SimulatedDrivingResource The T818 with 2 screws is already very secure but none of the initial holes allow this application. I suppose with the T818 Cockpit Mounting Kit that thrustmaster provides for €35 for the T818 (which I don't have) maybe you could apply it directly. Here is information for other interested users. Thank you for your always useful work.
Hey! Great video as always :) I can't decide which seat to buy (challenge x, GTLite pro and now the 301)... mostly because of the pedal plate. Could you maybe make a video about the Challenge X and the pedal mounting? I tried to search the width, but could not find much info about it... Was thinking maybe add 2 metal pieces across to increase rigidity, and mount the pedals on top. From all 3 seats, which one is more stable and doesn't lift from floor when breaking? Apologies for the amount of questions ;)
I can't really but what I will do is upload some info (images and measurements) you can work with on my discord channel. It all depends ofcourse what type of pedal base you put on it. Fanatec CSL Fanatec CS v3 TM TLCM. If you tell me what pedals you will mount I can advise better. For rigidity between the 3. Wheelbase-holder is the same for all. They all suffer the same flex because of the open-close mechanism. As for pedals, I would say GT Lite and 301. For general stability, GT Lite because it just weighs more. Ofcourse, this is without looking at the other indicators. Only stability
Thanks for the reply. For the moment S Rp lite. To be upgraded either to the alien mods LC or any other LC entry pedal. Need a cockpit first, unfortunately, do not have enough space for a proper rig and Desk set up is annoying me. :)
@@fsnb-pd2fs hmmm.... S-RP Lite is the same design as the CSL in terms of structure. You don't use a clutch so that could make it a bit better. I wouldn't go for the GT-Lite. You say you have limited space and GT-Lite is not space efficient. I just measured the the Challenge X plate and you won't for sure be able to set it standard with 4 bolts. The depth of the plate is only 25cm. Yes, I understand the feeling. I hated having to mount and dismount (and store) the steering wheel, pedals and so on too.

I will send another request to GT Omega but so far they have not been forthcoming when it comes to testing their equipment.

@@SimulatedDrivingResource Don’t tell me you were in Dortmund yesterday and we didn’t meet? 😭
Euhhhhhhhh..... ok I won't tell you then 🫤 am sorry. Was really a blitz visit to ADAC and the less pretty side of Dortmund to sleep.
@@SimulatedDrivingResource Don’t worry. But missed opportunity. Maybe next time. :)
@@SimulatedDrivingResourceyeap, it became legal during the last soccer championship in Germany to keep fans and hooligans calm 😅
