Saved me twice already!
For 64-bit system also we need select DWORD (32-bit) value
Yes Mate 👍
I have done the same but still its auto updating and asking me to update and shut option in power button
This man just came, told you what you were looking for, said thanks and left. This is how every UA-cam tutorial should be. I really appreciate you man. Thanks a lot!!!

There are some really great Americans out there, mostly not celebrated..
Absolute legend
Except, it doesn't work. Service still starts, repeatedly. No matter how many times you try to shut it off.

Windows update is just plain crazy. Everything is working just fine and smooth but this update crap consistently destroying everything. Thanks for this man.
If you want to start give value 0 at last
It just forcefully restarded my computer without warning that is why I came here!
Exactly.
Yeah i reinstall windows every 2 months because of this fcking auto update. Some kind of file always missing after update. Idk but windows system now are not good once they were in the past.

Windows 11 is never an option. So making Windows 10 less irritable is something very nice. Thank you!
You're welcome! ❣️😊
Thank you so much. I followed your steps and disabled the bloody updates forced on people as if we live in big brother house. You deserve a medal. Straight to the point without bloody music and time wasting.
Well check again for sure the service is started again on it's own
I have a question 🙋🏻♂️
What if someone does only the first step, means first method ?
Hells yeah! Someone who can show us how to get rid of this unneeded "feature" without 20 extra minutes of unnecessary junk thrown in.
Thank you so much brother! I was really confused what to do after this automatic update feature since it was consuming my mobile data completely. I followed several methods suggested by other youtube channels but ended up in vain. Your method is so damn perfect. Right now Iam not facing any further update issues. Once again, Thank you so much.
Glad that it helped you brother ❤️❤️😊👍
Do you have vain anymore?
I enjoyed your enthusiasm for the word "permanently"
Thank you! Windows and their non-stop updates have completely destroyed all of the computers in my house. I will be doing this to all of them. My PC is finally quiet again! Thanks again!

I've done the same by including this one in my "Troubleshooting" folder.
You sir are a gentleman and a scholar, a legend and a saint.
This damn automatic update kept reverting my latest Ryzen AMD drivers to ones from 2 years ago and it was driving me up a wall.
You buy these thousand-dollar "smart" computers and you have to go through all these hoops to do things you want to do with the thing you bought.
Thanks so much for this.

you can go to "Services" from Task Manager, select "Services" then right click
to "Open Services"
scroll down to "Windows Update" right click to open "Properties"
Now select "Disabled" .
while you are here, in this dialog box first go to "Recovery" heading then you see three options" First Failure",
"Second Failure", "Subsequent Failures" set them all to "Take No Action"
click Apply and OK
thenk you

@@EasyTechGeek hi bro can u help with failed Nvidia driver failed tk install?
This saves us a lot of headaches with some of these windows updates that corrupts multiple files. I had to do a system restore to get back the MS Store and photos app. Thanks to you and do not have to worry about anymore automatic updates.
You are so correct.
Performed all steps and it didn't work. Windows updates services automatically starts running again no matter how many times I disable it.
Changing or adding the registry names also didn't stop updates from occuring.
This solution has worked for me, and I no longer receive any automatic updates. Thank you so much, and thank you as well for the short, clear and concise explanation 👍
Thank you. Glad it helped Mate ❤️🙋
The previous Windows update caused performance stuttering in my games... I restored to previous version by date, and use your solution to disable this cancer auto update. Thank you so much !!
Its so irritating man I know my laptop also updating for like last 3 4 hours but it updated last week aslo why the fuck it update after every valorant update I don't know bullshit microsoft and its restarting again and again like it don't know wha the f going on
Thanks so much! No mumbo jumbo or annoying background music. Straight to the point.
I'm sick and tired of the updates. Now they are telling me that my PC can't handle Windows 11!! Like I really care for it. 😒
Great video! 👏👏👏
Glad it was helpful ❤️😊🙋
Feel you man. I don't want the update I'm ok with what I have why Microsoft don't understand.
Same here, made my laptop very slow after window update
@@EasyTechGeek in the final step, does it t matter if the pc is 32 or 64 bit?
Should we choose the appropriate bits?
No play Win 10, or older GAMES on Windows 11 - Eh, it's almost useless to try. But they said you couldn't play 'THIEF' on new computers years ago. But most still played THIEF! Ha-ha! Take Care (I don't like Win 11.)
Straight to the point, very clear and no unnecessary blah blah blah...thank you!
Glad you liked it ❣️😊
Thanks man for your "short but clear" step by step video. It really helped.
Oh Wow, your instructions worked. I don't see that MS update reminder on my taskbar after restarting my pc. I like that you kept your video brief, why I chose your video out of dozens, some as long as 10-15 minutes. You don't waste time with intros and other annoying chit chat. I subscribed to you in appreciation. Thank you so much!! Thera NJ
Glad with your detailed compliment. Thank you ❤️🙋
Unfortunately, they've caught on to this, so you may need to check back occasionally to make sure it doesn't slip back to "Manual".
it wont slip back to "Manual" if you first go to the "Recovery" heading
in the dialog box, there you see First Failure, Second Failure, and
Subsequent Failures, set all of them to "Take no Action" click Apply
click OK
by the way there is no need to mess around in the "regedit" section

That worked for several months, but it is once again telling me I have 3 choices today update and shut down or update and restart or sleep. Process again, even deleting the things he had instructed us to create, and it isn’t working this time. Any thoughts on how to bypass this or disable it from this point. Seems they figured out how to bypass his fix.
I followed the steps u showed in this video but still i got a option saying restart your computer... Why did this happen?? Reply plzzz

Thank you! Windows 10 forced an update a week ago and now EVERY night my machine crashes (Dell XPS) to the Dell BSOD and on boot ups it take 3 minutes now trying to fix what it broke and is never successful. I can't believe how horrible MS is to sneakily force all these updates.
Thanks for your "short but clear" step by step video. It really helped.

For me it only works for a while, then a few weeks later it auto updates again. Still a time saver though.
My laptop is 64-bit , Therefore what I do ? I should Hit 64-bit or 32- bit in Registry Editor. (windows update

The dreaded 'updates' icon has appeared on the taskbar again. Appears this solution didn't work for me.
Thank you man, windows has been updating random crap and when I booted my PC it was just black, no matter how many times I restart it's just black with a cursor, I've tried all of the fixing methods but none of them worked, so I factory reset, now that I have a fresh windows in my PC, I will disable automatic updates so thank you :)

Same for me it happened TWICE in a WEEK.
It probably has happened again to.
@@uhavemooface Nope, ALTHOUGH i am experiencing a new type of problem probably not related to this one, it started last week but whenever i share screen or play 'heavy' games my computer turns off or reboots with a wierd buzz noise while my PC (being the fan, mb, psu is still on).
Edit: Problem fixed, i just changed some registry and re-attached my ram my pc works normally now, either of those 2 or those 2 were the solution

Hi sir, I tried your tutorial last time, but today my laptop is asking me to restart and update, I was thinking that the update is only for some apps that I downloaded. I am not aware that window 11 is included. So I updated it and found out that my window is already window 11. Is there any way to permanently avoid reminders to update my LT? It bothers me so much as window 11 sucks. I will be very glad to hear any reply from you. Thanks ahead.
I really appreciate your work my pc just sucks all my data every now and then
first step works, second step doesn't. :( is there an updated version of this video in 2023?

if windows 64 bit then we select DWORD 32 bit or QWORD 64 bit ??
Same Question
should we not change the DWORD 64 bit value instead of DWORD 32 bit value
as our Windows 10 is 64 bit operating system?
i set DWORD 64 bit value, working okay
Like how easy to follow and straight to the point this was

Well I followed all the steps from you and others which basically show the same things but I still get the updates. I must be stupid and missing something as everyone else states you are the man.
same here man
ive never wanted to donate money to someone before now, you literally made all the stress go away
Microsoft is still reenabling the Windows Update Service somehow after these steps/ending the task/reboot. The timer randomly starts updating (if I am away for 10min or so I can't stop it). This most recent update is very very annoying because it takes 45min and fails every time. It tries to repeat daily.
Try the second method also uninstall updates from update history. Search update setting
go to services windows update right click properties log on and click on this computer and type .\Guest and nothing in password

Please update by reply
Whether your update is still off
Because if I update, then my laptop is not able to "update & restart"
So I have to do automatic repair or sometimes reset
It says "undoing all updates"
So I am thinking of permanently disabling the update atleast for a year
Will this trick in the video work
Thank you so much bro! I have a question. If my window is 64 bit, l have to select QWORD(64-bit)Value instead of DWORD(32-bit) Value? Let me know that, please!
It's always a 32 bit value no matter what bit we are using. 👍
Hi! Thanks for tutorial. If we are on 64 bits OS,, do we have to use the 32bits key as in your example or do we have to use the one with same bits as our OS? Thank you very much
32 bit always 👍

CAREFUL, windows update from services can turn itself back on, after you right click windows update and click properties and choose disabled, go to the [Recovery] Tab and for first, second and subsequent failure choose [Take No Action] and you should be fine

Hello, thank you for making this video! I've done everything as it was explained (and I have done so two weeks earlier too) and as I restarted my laptop it started to update... Feels like Windows has made their updates unavoidable. I really hope that's not the case.
Thank you. Will make a latest video soon. 👍
I did this too but went to shut down it doesn’t give me the option to just shut down its now forcing the update if I shut down its going to update anyway.
@@juliehoffman-halliburton9990 Yes, I'm having the same trouble too. Did you find any solutions? Please help out!
@@clamicarpus A bruteforce way to stop updates is to go to Windows folder, look for SoftwareDistribution\Download. This is the folder where updates get downloaded to before installing. Look up a tutorial on how to change ownership of folders and then take permissions to the Download folder away from windows so it can't write the downloads to that folder anymore. So far that has been the only real way I found to permanently stop any updates.
thank you so much. I hate how much they bury things to force updates. it's frustrating to have the control of your own machine taken from you. your video was straightforward and swift. I only use win10 for specific programs, but a lightweight linux OS on my other comp is so much better. it never bothers me with bs.

My laptop is Lennovo. And it keeps on updating that causes it to be so slow. I hate it. 😢
There is no way to disable the update ever. I just had a talk with a microsoft assisstant and that person told me there is no way to disable it. The update will start automatically without your permission. They don't give a shit about your privacy. Disabling window's update doesn't matter.
Microsoft promissed Windows 11 updates will be less disturbing
