We did visit Miyajima in November on a Sunday. Stayed in a hotel right next to Hiroshima station, but it was very busy on the Sunday even early in the morning. The aquarium was very interesting on the island to see how the oysters and other local fish are in the area.
This looks awesome. We are going to the island in May. What gets sprinkled in there? Was it peanuts? Looks delicious!

OMG Hiroshima style okonomiyaki is the best!!! The Miyajima momiji are also amazing if you got a chance to try them
