      Miyajima is considered one of the three most beautiful spots in the country. It was incredibly windy up on the mountain when my exchange class went there years ago.

    I agree Phil, when it comes to perfection Japan and Germany have much in common! Very timely, very responsible people, and a deep appreciation for nature. Thanks guys, enjoyed the tour!👍❤️🕊

      I don't know about deers of Japan, but the ones here in the U.S. are very aggressive eaters, not fun imho to feed at all, rather appreciate them from afar,lol.

    That was so cool. Everything was cool; architecture, shops, deer patrol, shrines, food and even the trees. I would've been a huge sucker and bought food for the deer.

    I went there as part of a class trip 30 years ago, though we stayed overnight in a ryokan. We did the opposite, taking the ropeway up, then hiked down on one of the longer trails. There's a pot of tea that's been simmering for 1,200 years at the temple. We stopped at a place called Monkey Land where you could interact with the local monkeys, but I don't see it on the guides now. I guess it was closed -- let's just say that poop wasn't the only thing the monkeys flung at people.

    • @DeanaandPhil
      @DeanaandPhil  6 місяців тому

      Ohh cool! Yeah the ropeway up would have been a less sweatier option!! 😆We asked about the monkeys too and someone said it is much rarer to see monkeys on Mount Misen nowadays. 🐒

      @@DeanaandPhil I saw an article that said they were relocated to another park because the population had grown too large and due to "other problems." Probably a polite way of saying that they were loudly having sex in front of tourists, or "flying solo" and flinging the result. All of us juvenile college students got plenty of amusing photos. I also remember a warning sign that said to avoid eye contact because it might make the males aggressive.
      In Japanese, those kanji are read iriguchi for entrance and deguchi for exit, but if they were read the on-yomi ("Chinese") way, they would be nyuukou and shukkou.
      It's wild to see some of your shots taken from the same vantage points as photos I have in frames on my shelf.

    Have some respect for the tiny statues with the red on them. Those are memorials for the women who lost children due to miscarriage or some other problem. They are reminders of the children lost and what could have been. The gravestones around are also a big indication that it’s a scared place. Do not ever forget that. Those hats and garments are replaced constantly so please keep your mind on what is there.

    宮島のシカは、奈良のシカと違って餌付けされていないので常に飢えています。
    自治体がシカを連れてきたのに餌をやらないからです...
    餌をあげたい場合は、さつまいもを食べやすい大きさに切ってあげてください。
    決して人間の食べ物を与えてはいけません。

    You guys need to spend an extended period of time in Japan, like a few years. I can see boyfriend has Japanese DNA in him. He feels linkedin to this place. And I firmly believe that when someone feels like that about a geographical place, that means you need to spend more time there. I had the same geo issue. I had to live in England, Germany, Russia, and Kazakhstan. I just had to do that. Lessons are to be learned in this geo places.
