Actually, this was a face off of two long time champs. It was Photograph that was tops on the show for 9 weeks. Then it got beat finally by Journey's Separate Ways. But after only 3 weeks Quiet Riot beat them and held on for 10 weeks. So Mtv had Def Leppard, now with Rock of Ages go against Cum On Feel the Noize. Rock of Ages won then they set Def Leppard aside and started over. Eventually Van Halen's Jump was tops for 10 weeks and it faced off against Photograph for the title, and Def Leppard barely won. Then many weeks later after Duran Duran's reflex held it for 10 weeks it won vs Photograph, but by that time the Def Leppard songs were much older. They wee 900 numbers back then, 50 cents a call, not free. I know all of this because I lived it in real time as a major Def Leppard fan, 1983/84. I', 52 but those days don't leave me.

I was like 8 years old when this came out and was a huge Def Leppard fan. If I recall, I think Def Leppard won 75% to 25%
