When a bassist is a better guitarist than I am
I’m pretty sure he played guitar before bass correct me if I’m wrong but it would make sense
I grew up with his childern and even spent time in his house in ireland. I was a young boy in the 2000s and finally realising how lucky I was to even be in the same room as rick savage, hold his guitars and befriend his sons for life. Crazy times.
Shame some critics call him the worst bassist in pop/ rock. A bassist main job is to give notes to the beats of the drums. In that case, Rick is an amazing bassist.

I got to see Def Leppard play soccer in Allentown PA. Rick Savage walked right in front of me. I screamed Savage! like a lunatic. He didn't turn. I told my husband at the time, I don't think he heard me. He said, I heard you over here across the field over all these people. He heard you. Later, there was a crowd at a barricade and none of the band came over. Until Sav came out and he came over. My husband shoved me through the crowd to the barricade and held a camera over my head. Sav came along and people are just shoving stuff at him. Then he took mine and I said Thank you so much! Sav said you're very welcome. My husband got a poor quality photograph of the moment. I still want to apologize to Sav for screaming 😱.
