I remember in my second year of high school back in 1983, when I came into my class, I saw that in my desk, the kid from the class before mine had left a Parade magazine with these guys on the cover. I didn't know who they were, but I kept the magazine and read about Def Leppard and absolutely loved Pyromania and their earlier albums. I have seen Def Leppard in concert countless times. To this very day, I still have that same Parade magazine that I found in my desk, almost 40 years later!!! True story!
What! Are you deaf! (No pun intended) that's the great Donnie Sutherland- if I remember right- interviewing the guys on his tv music show Sounds which was on in the 70 -80s in Australia and one of the very few here who showed real interest and respect to rock and roll/ HM bands.Wish he was still around today.
I listened....yet yes, captivated by those beautiful eyes. He's had me since I was 12. My ex husbands hate Joe because they know I've loved him since I was a child.
The 80's ...what a great time to be alive. It was nothing like in today's world. The music was great, everything was so much better! When we used our phone, we actually used it for talking on it. Nowadays interviews everyone would have a cellphone in their hands. I'm actually addicted to my dang mobile phone and it's awful! I hate this feeling...I wake up, make a cup of coffee and get on my phone first thing and it's the 2nd thing I turn off 1st being the light. We used to talk it was so great! No nothing in your hands. We done things back then. So much stuff and without a stupid, addicting mobile phone!
Nope not me. Don't suffer from CPD (cell phone disorder). I want to enjoy the world and what is going on around me. Mind you I have one but don't use when I'm walking around enjoying nature etc. It's a global disease and it's destroying the world.
Watching all of these old interviews, I wonder if it ever crossed their minds that they would end up being legends? Mention 80's rock to anyone older than 30 and I guarantee they will be high on that list.
I was just reading all the comments and came across your comment and i don't know why but it made me laugh.. But yeah greatest band ever I've loved these guys since I was 6 or 7 years old
Not really. Only found out after i'd finished my schooling there. Got to see em back in sheffield arena though in 93. My ears still haven't recovered. Great live band though.
Too loud. Was slightly deaf for days after, ears ringing. Love to do it again though. Top rock band in the 80's. Got a bit too poppy in the 90's 00's for me.
@@viol8rforming a band and refining it day after day with original music and multiple opinions takes a grind. I'd never want that life. I appreciate what they do.
When the host says “it doesn’t appear you had a hard time at any time as a band” Fast forward to the recording of the next album when everything goes awry.
Def Leppard and Iron Maiden were the rare bands that went from sofa to stadium in 5-6 years. Yeah they worked hard but they were lucky. Right place, right time. After they reached the initial success then their hard work began, to remain legendary.
Man their story of how they were able to get a foot in the door is insanely lucky - having the opportunity to cover AC/DC and then being picked up by their producer. What are the odds of that?
saw them this tour ,early February 1984 The Venue St.Kilda Melbourne, god was it hot that night, sumthin like 30c degrees @ start time,2000 campaigners all packed in like sardines, the encore was Rock,N,Roll, was a ripping show
There's no such thing as a 'British Accent' Phil is from Hackney in London so he has a Cockney accent, Rick and Joe are from Sheffield in Yorkshire up north hence there mild Yorkshire accent
