I’ve seen so many vids where the girls are like, “I moved to … with $300.” or “I moved to … with no money and no job. You can do it too!” Sis, please. Let’s be for real, and even more realistic. We shouldn’t be out here promoting struggle. Well thought out; informative vid! Thanks, I appreciate this! ❤❤❤ I’ve been looking at moving to HTX for quite some time now, so this was right on time for me!
Exactly! We have to stop promoting struggle, I want my sisters to be successful and live a good comfortable life. I’m glad you enjoyed the video beautiful and good luck if you decide to make that move 🤎🤍
Thank you for watching and I’m glad you enjoyed the video. I love that you said that, I’ve had the same thought. There will be highs and lows, try to remember what made you move in the 1st place. Sometimes home is too much comfort. Moving away allows you to grow and reach your highest potential. Maybe you could consider somewhere else in the future. The world is so big girl! 🙏🏽🤍
As a native Houstonian of 48 years I have to say you are spot on 🎯. The ONLY thing I didn’t agree with was Kingwood. But this is a great video overall. I watch “moving to Houston” reviews wherever one comes across my feed and they usually annoy me 😂. But this one I like. 👍🏽
I'm so glad you enjoyed the video, thank you for watching! I'm curious about why you wouldn’t recommend Kingwood, please educate me - I might have rose colored glasses on because I’ve seen some really beautiful homes in the area and it seems pretty quiet and safe.
@ if I’m being honest, my opinion is probably bias because my aunt lives in Kingwood and her previous home was severely flooded twice, her neighbors were downright awful and my younger cousin was bullied at the high school. It was a nice home, but an older one. She has since sold that home and lives in a newer one and now has a different and better experience, and no flooding. So the tip about the FEMA map was very informative. The other factors you can find just about anywhere because you just never know what you’re gonna get as far as neighbors and school experiences. We just have to hope for the best in that regard. I personally would pick The Woodlands or Katy over Kingwood. But they are all great options. Welcome to Houston !! 🥳
I am native of this area but lived out of state for many years but moved back. Houston diversity is it's strength. It is great place to live because of the people, the restaurants, and the culture, our only drawback are the zoning laws here🤣🤣🤣🤣 Glad you are enjoying you time in Houston. P.S... I love the east coast in the fall but not the winter....smile...but the cultural centers on east coast are amazing. Here is to your continued success in Houston.
Everything you said is so true. The diversity here is impressive and lots of people share the same feelings about the zoning laws 🤣😅 thank you so much for tuning in and the support!🙏🏽🤍
What makes montrose a bad option? I’m curious to know your thoughts and I’m sure other viewers would appreciate more context here if they’re considering moving in the future.
Here’s a tip if you want fresh natural groceries I don’t have a lot of pesticides and you wanna lower your grocery shop at the immigrant markets like the Asian markets are the one the best place is your food is cheaper you get fresh groceries I don’t know where they’re getting a fruit from or wood farm, but it is not where H-E-B is getting from and it last longer. It doesn’t have a whole bunch of stuff on it.
Thank you for this recommendation. I think that’s a great idea. I’ve been interested in shopping at some of the markets but haven’t ran across any. If you know the names of any specific stores please let us know, we appreciate it! ♥️♥️
Yes girl you heard right …$10… buying that water stressed me out I haven’t been back since. I’ve never heard of Harris Teeter before but that sounds more reasonable
I definitely wouldn't recommend people to move to Kingwood, its an old area and notorious for flooding. If there's a day of heavy rain, you cant get in or out of the neighborhood
Aw that’s terrible. I’m not familiar with the flooding in the area but it is a really nice area. So in this case, referring back to FEMA is recommended. Thanks for letting us know🫶🏽
@@tierrashavonn That depends on the part of Kingwood. I’m in Kingwood right off the golf course and it does not flood here with that said it floods in Houston. It floods in a lot of areas is prone to flooding. Did Kingwood get hit more this last storm during the summer than usual yes but it happens. Happens everywhere in the Houston metro area from what I’m saying. I will also say you’re in flood insurance is cheaper out in the Kingwood area than it is in Houston. You literally are paying another months rent if you get flood insurance and it has to be four stories and under and you have to have fun insurance. If you were renting and you have a flood, you know you’re gonna be out of luck. My flood insurance is $700 a month not 9000 a year. Now don’t give me wrong. I’d rather be in the Woodlands than Kingwood so I’m not wrapping for Kingwood heart I’m just putting the truth out there. I was. I’ve been here for four years and I’ve seen the flooding firsthand and I’ve seen what’s been on the news firsthand and what I’ve experienced is the flooding was worse in a lot of parts of Houston just driving into there. There are streets they are going to flood in Kingwood, but there are streets are going to flood in Cypress, there are streets there are flood in Porter. There are streets that flood in SPRING this happens because Houston itself is a full Metro area is below sea level. Now, with that said the Kingwood area does does not include Kingwood and includes to see the Shores includes parts of humble and parts of Porter. So all of those parts do not flood and when they do they get services and when people say, Kingwood is a nice area they do also count to Shores into that and the nice parts of humble. Because those parts are not part of the Houston area and they are considered county services. You don’t fill the impact when it floods out there. You still get to have a nice home and not feel any impact your services are taken care of right away by the county. Kingwood proper, however, is part of Houston, but those people will need to stand up and fight to get the services a shit because the homes are beautiful there and I think it’s worth it to buy a home there or in the other two areas that are adjacent because you still get that looking feel and I’m sorry it is a vibe and it’s a cheaper vibe than living down in Houston or moving to any other parts of the city where you’re paying more for housing like the Woodlands or Katy because you’re paying more for housing in those areas the houses are more beautiful and the Kingwood area and you’re also paying more for insurance in those areas so it’s all what you’re willing to do and not do. But you’re still gonna get a flood even in the Woodlands. And all of this can be verified at flood.gov . All the flood zones are marked and you can also price your flood insurance and you’ll tell by your flood insurance which area is flooded the most I thought about moving into a high-rise and selling my home in the Kingwood area because I want to be near the restaurants and odd places that I was picking out that are nice and expensive are the worst flood zones and that’s where the flood insurance was 9000 or 7000 a year but I also say there’s less crime out here.
Very informative, I’m a professional fine arts painter and sculptor from and based in Atlanta, Georgia, looking to relocate and open my art gallery in a place more fitted for true collectors who appreciate the arts and genuine vibes, seems like this will be a great fit, very insightful and definitely has me optimistic to come there this summer with my family great content👏🏽😌🫶🏽

Thank you! That’s awesome 👏🏽 I’m happy you’re enjoying the move to Houston as well ♥️♥️

Whole foods want HOW MUCH????? Harris Teeter is $3.95 for a case of water. That's wild

more crime is in the loop. more expensive in the loop. i suggest moving to a suburb. especially if you have kids.
