I've been looking for this type of video that doesn't need a bowl or plate molder and just a simple molder/silicon that fits it, and reshape them accordingly.. 🥰🥰🥰 I'm inlove.. good thing you can use it as a salad bowl too..
To get the creases out of the vinal shower curtain pieces I use an iron on low heat and no steam. I put a paper towel on the vinal and press. Once flat I use it to shape or pour resin. I also made a piece of elastic with velcro on each end so that I can wrap it around the vinal and the item is shaped over to draw it as close to the item as possible. I wrap the elastic around the edges of the vinal near the table and it draws it close to the vase for a tighter finish.

It's obviously a very personal and each to his/ her own taste project, from the colors you use to how you pour them on, and even how you form it💜 Reminds me of the projects I use to do with my daughter in the oven when she was a child😻

Just buy plastic by the roll in the fabric department at walmart or Joanns. The rolls are usually used for table top cover. You don’t have e to deal with creases and it’s super cheap at walmart.

I use a similar process to make icicles at Christmas - smear clear resin on non-sticky tape and sprinkle glitter over the top. Let it cure. While still bendy I cut into long teardrops then I bend them around pens and tape in place. They dry in a spiral shape. I drill a hole in the top and add cord or wire to hang them. Bit messy but lots of fun!
I agree with all the other positive comments written here - everything you make Carmen is just so beautiful and truly elegant, and I love the fact that you use items from around the house or stuff that we can buy anywhere - like the shower curtain and the glass vase to make such beautiful pieces. There's a company here in Australia called 'Dinosaur Designs', which opened about 20 years ago, and everything they sell - from baths and tiles to kitchenware and lovely jewellery is made from epoxy resin, The pieces you make remind me a lot of theirs', except they charge $180 for a simple bangle!!! Anyway, I've never seen one of these videos before, but I'll be watching them all from now on. Keep up the great work, and thanks for the wonderful video. This is the first video in a long time that's actually taught me something useful and inspiring. And now I'm going out to buy a shower curtain! :-)

I also work with resin. First, i love how your two bowls turned out! Beautiful and exquisite! Second, I never knew that you can shape, stretch and mold resin into just about any shape and form! Wow! I can’t wait to try something like this. I also love the ocean and blues, teals and a touch of purple are my favorite colors too! I’m thinking of after letting the resin sit for 15 minute before pouring, simply pour it over your object you want it to take the form of. Let it stretch down over it naturally since it’s not as cured yet. Does this make sense? I thought it may be easier. I want to try this on a seashell. Thanks for this tutorial!!!
You could try it but since ArtResin is self leveling even with it sitting for a little bit I feel it will still want to run off. This will leave you with not much resin on the top and most of it pooled at the bottom. You could brush it over top in thin coats for it to hold the shape of the 3d object better but this way may take a long time for you to build up a thick enough layer.
That is amazing! I didn't know you could do that with resin. I am curious as to whether you can use bowls or plates made with resin in the microwave for heating up food?
We would not recommend placing your cured ArtResin in the microwave as the extreme heat will soften and damage the resin surface. For best results keep away from sources of high heat and hand wash with mild soap and water.

Hi Linda, thank you so much for watching :). ArtResin is heat resistant up to 120F which will withstand the heat from a warm mug, however you do not want to expose your ArtResin to a plate right out of the oven for example.
Beautiful, thank you for showing this technique, I wouldn't have believed it possible! Please advise how you would varnish/seal the acrylic paint edge to make it lasting as it would otherwise wear off very quickly with handling whereas the resin would last for years.
Carmen's tiered trays are beautiful! Take a peek at her video for how to make geode coasters ( ua-cam.com/video/kIi01WUybKs/v-deo.html ) make them a little bigger and once cured, drill a hole in the middle of the coaster. Then you can purchase the hardware for a 3 tier tray from Amazon - it's easy to put together!

I have a question about some resin pieces that I have done, mostly the ones I’m referring to are like a disc, in a platter type of resin. I do as you have done wait until it’s not tacky anymore and sometimes I try to make it in to a bowl or I just leave it flat. And what happens afterwards is what I’m concerned about the flat pieces which were easy to take out of the mold because they were firm enough and then I just let it sit fo 48 hours or more, but now my finished pieces were on a table that had sun coming in and when they warmed up in the sun they bent! they’re flexible again, can you help me to figure out what I’ve done wrong? I am really enjoying your video ,it’s really informative and enjoyable to watch! Thank you

That is our little buddy Drip :) The tint we used was our ResinTint you can find it on our site along side or resin kits www.artresin.com. ArtResin is very durable and hard! It is possible that it could break, however we have had a painting fall off the wall and dropped coasters on the ground without any damage at all.

Thanks for watching! Yes, resin makes wood charcuterie boards look absolutely gorgeous. Keep in mind, however, that ArtResin is scratch resistant, not scratch proof, so it's best to use resined board for serving and not for cutting food on. If you do happen to get scratches on your resined surface, you can sand the whole thing down and apply a fresh coat, and it will look good as new! Another option is to sand the cured resin surface with a series of coarse-to-fine sandpaper to give the resin a matte finish. The end result looks great on wood boards and the matte finish won't show scuffs as easily as a glossy surface does. We haven't tried doing cabinets ourselves but if you can pull the doors off and resin them on a flat surface I am sure you could create something spectacular :)
Hi Margaret, you can use a heat gun, but we recommend a torch as the best tool for the job. Nothing beats the heat from the flame of the torch when it come to popping those bubbles. And the often times a heat gun blows hot air, which can move the resin around your artwork. That's cause it's not how you're supposed to use it. While it looks cool, uncured resin is poisonous to touch and is very harmful to you skin

Hi Susan, you can simply brush a thin layer of resin over your edges to permanently seal them.

I never thought of using resin this way! What about using it for a charcuterie board?
Thanks for watching! Yes, resin makes wood charcuterie boards look absolutely gorgeous. Keep in mind, however, that ArtResin is scratch resistant, not scratch proof, so it's best to use resined board for serving and not for cutting food on. If you do happen to get scratches on your resined surface, you can sand the whole thing down and apply a fresh coat, and it will look good as new!
Another option is to sand the cured resin surface with a series of coarse-to-fine sandpaper to give the resin a matte finish. The end result looks great on wood boards and the matte finish won't show scuffs as easily as a glossy surface does. This is exciting!!!Loved the video, looks like something worth exploring. I wonder how ArtResin would transform wooden kitchen cabinets.
We haven't tried doing cabinets ourselves but if you can pull the doors off and resin them on a flat surface I am sure you could create something spectacular :)
Can you use a heat gun for removing the bubbles or does it have to be a torch? Fantastic and very informative video!
Hi Margaret, you can use a heat gun, but we recommend a torch as the best tool for the job. Nothing beats the heat from the flame of the torch when it come to popping those bubbles. And the often times a heat gun blows hot air, which can move the resin around your artwork.
