Old timer taught me to install captured glass with a rope and soapy water by putting the gasket on the glass and feeding clothesline rope in the channel of the glass.Admitadely this is the 2 man method.Luxuries.

I know a guy that had a really nice 1993 extended cab 4x4 diesel and his new wife didn't like the truck after the steering shaft came loose after driving down a really windy road and so he parked it and it's been getting sun baked in a field for the last 15 years while the mice and rust moved in and he is one of those guys who will never ever sell it and would rather let it fall to pieces like the rest of his vehicle's that he never ever will fix or drive. Why do people do that is something I'll never understand.
    Good job Jamie.

    Just a thought?
When bouncing on the concrete roads in the Midwest my suggestion is to add a WELD CHECK AT EVERY FUEL STOP.
    RESPECTFULLY 😊.

Once you get the gravel in your driveway like you want it you can dump a bag of Portland cement in a lawn spreader and get cheap concrete. With the rain you get multiple applications may be needed

Man u had me rolling. I totally went through a 1980 Dodge, non duley,1 ton with a utility bed on it. 360/ 727 . I mean did everything mechanical. Radiator, heater core etc. u get the picture. Brand new 1980 truck in 2001.
Going camping, pulling my 5th wheel. Man it came a gully - washer. THE ONLY thing I didn't replace, the windshield wiper motor went out.

Your truck is really rather light compared to many diesels these days. Certainly lighter than our third gens. I think your rig is golden. BTW, some 1" thick fiberglass insulation from HomeDepot behind those door panels makes a nice improvement - at least it did in my first gen.

Hella makes some replacement lights for old sealed beam bulbs.
They are a glass housing that take a replaceable h4 bulb.
You can put 100w high beam, 55w low beam bulbs in them.
They are WAY WAY better than seals beams.
Much brighter, but more importantly, a noticeably better pattern.
They are not priced to bad either.

@Jamie...Non Stick stuff? Since we live in this moisture laden state I know Line X is expensive but it does seal quite well. If you go that route ask for aggressive texture, its super grippy even when wet. I used to shoot Rhino Liner in and on just about everything. Have a safe trip and good luck winning.
On the onboard air, can you add a compressor to the engine like big rigs? Then you can fill tires too.

    • @DeadDodgeGarage

Also, I'd be interested to see what your total weight with car and bodies is. The angle issue is why so many people build WEDGE trucks, but you lose the flat deck carrying capabilities.. Big thing is, most who have a wedge truck, also have a pick up.. You COULD build a raised deck over your present flat deck!!!!! Probably a 3-5 inch rise would take care of most everything you'd ever carry..

Curious ? Is there a certain " burrito" or a certain burrito place I'm not aware of ??

There is a company called Burrito Bros that supply premade breakfast burritos to essentially all of the local coffee stands, and they’re surprisingly decent for something that is heated in a microwave. So that’s my go-to breakfast many days.

Jamie, I have a vinyl die-cutting machine and I could send you white lettering for your "not for hire" and GVW weight.

Appreciated. But I think I’d rather just hand paint it better. You wouldn’t believe how many compliments I’ve gotten for that. Haha.
