Back in the mid 80s my buddy Lonnie and me,Rich got the Mopar nationals started at Woodburn after being turned down by PIR, SIR and Spokane. Jim Livingston the Woodburn owner took us on.First year was Ford v Mopar and we won all classes that day. Jim sez Mopar only from now on.Looks to be going stronger than ever. Thanks to all.
Thank you both for coming down and hanging out at Mopar nationals! Thats a long haul from your place. You’re welcome for the gifts! It was a fun day! Happy all three of you made it home safe, even if it wasn’t in the Mopar you started out in.
Half the fun of driving an old vehicle is all the looks and waves a thumbs up a guy gets. I had a 79 powerwagon that I frame off restored, jacked up with big mud tires and sounded amazing. I couldn’t stop at a gas station without somebody coming up and commenting and asking about it, had people ask to take pictures, one guy seemed to love it even more than me and took a several minute walk around commentary video…..at a gas station 🤣
Oh yeah. My daughter learned this lesson early on… when we’re in an old car, it’s kind of like we’re famous. Everyone is going to look at us, and people will want to talk to us all the time. When I was younger I really didn’t enjoy that aspect of classic ownership. I just wanted to be left alone. But I’ve grown to appreciate the enthusiasm. And it’s important to remember that my car is probably the only one like it they’ve ever seen, or have seen in decades…
Well after binge watching mopars on other channels, you popped up in my feed, and now I have another channel to feed my terrible mopar addiction. And what makes this even better is you’re in the PNW!
Oh cool! Someday when I’ve got my papers in order I’ll have to make the journey up to Mission Raceway. Incidentally, my ramp truck already knows the way there. Haha.
You have a ‘68 Charger, a drag racing Demon, and a Barracuda that will one day be completely amazing… and yet it’s Mrs. Jamie’s wagon that gets me pumped for a video. Weird, but not weird, right?
The wagon is just awesome! We have left lane losers here in Ontario as well, ‘frozen in the fast lane’ as I say. Would be a blast to see two classic Mopars like that on a road trip! We have only seen the dash lights twice on our 66 Charger, I’ve owned it since ‘85. Once idling in a friends driveway at night the dash lights lit up on me- blew my mind for the few seconds they worked, happened to my son once as well since he keeps and drives her now. Keep up the great content Jamie!
That paperwork is AWESOME!!! I LOVE the history of "stuff," I wish virtually everything had documentation, good and bad. I I must have passed it down to my kids. All four of them LOVE to listen to "old guys" sitting around talking. BTW, missed you live tonight..... that sucked.😢

That’s what I had on my ‘66! So many people told me to put Magnums on my ‘68 Charger. I refused… my slots didn’t look quite right on it though. I ended up with some nice 15” Cragars and I love that look too.
Nice vid, great footage. Can't handle those long hikes these days, I once carried a 71 cast iron intake with AVS on top a mile where parked. Fun times.
Beautiful car. I am old enough to remember when no one wanted the four doors or the station wagons, but those days are gone. Frankly, they're just cool. And there's a chance they weren't hot-rodded by high-school idiots like I was back then. Maybe somebody flipped the air cleaner cover over, but that's about all we did to mom's car when she let us drive it on weekends.
Fun times! I watched this video after the live stream. Good to see Colin & H.D. I nodded off about when you arrived at the track for a couple hours & then watched the rest. I still think that in the muscle car era that the big 3 had their poop together best the following years - 63 -64, 66-67, 69-72. I rode in many of the fast cars of those years when they were new or a couple years old. The Mopars ruled! So many different models of AFFORDABLE muscle cars!
Should I admit my GS455 has Eagle STs from the early 90s, that still look perfect(?!) Instantly recognized that tread on the rear of the wagon and stamped the "those tires last to infinity by experience" approval. I guess not........ Thanks for saving a quarter panel on my car, scared straight............
Your video has inspired me to replace the tires on my 68' Newport. When I bought the car in 88' from the original owner, my great aunt, the tires looked brand new. She said they were installed in the late 70's but she rarely drove the car again. Fast forward to 2024 and they're still on the car almost some 45 years later! They're still round and hold air. Good for trips around the neighbourhood (I think). LOL But now it's time to buy the old MOPAR it's third set of tires. I am finding it surprisingly hard to find whitewalls for a 14-inch rim! Especially here in Canada. Might have to go with black. Safety first!
Even around here, getting 14” tires can be a challenging proposition. And for the wagon, I got about $1300+ quote for four new 15”s in these dimensions - and they didn’t even have them.

an F body wagon I drove for a while had a little higher center of gravity with the full roof, over a sedan model. It added a little rear sway in a corner. That F body wagon had KYB shocks all around and the HD suspension. The hiway up the south side of OC is curvy and very scenic and a little on the high speed limit side, glad you could take the drive. Put a little G force in your life, drive a back-road today.

The original station wagon rear leaf springs were the same ones used for taxi cab and police packages. They were even heavier than the Street Hemi springs.

I had a spare on my Rambler that was retreaded in 1962. didn't shake, had no balance wights, lots of tread. one day I had a flat. put on the spare. was driving it to a tire store. and it Sheed a bunch of rubber. now out of balance at speeds of 25 mph it shook the front end. after 10 miles we got to the tire store. it never went flat. It still looked good on the back bumper. because of the wide whitewall. this happened in 2008. date code on the tire was 1959. I used it in the 80s a lot. but then relegated it to the spare.
Great video brothers Atwood 😊! Definitely a good reminder to make sure you have provisions in case of worst case scenarios. I’ve done the same things and it made for some really difficult days; truth be known-I look back on it as lessons from the Devine 🙄🤦🏻♂️. I say that because there were many…many times that I was extremely lucky just to have made it home! Those times made me thank me lucky stars but didn’t make me very diligent concerning preparedness. We all get excited to take our project cars out on the road-usually before everything has been double checked. When you’re building entire cars there are so many incidentals that could be missed and some adjustments are of course normal but …as the grey beard has started to bloom I’ve gotten a more careful and mindful of all the things that could go wrong. Always good to call a couple friends and see what they’re up to…say hey if I call broke down, can you come and pick me up😂? Having to foot it all the way home to get tools and a recovery vehicle sucks, but the real challenge is driving two vehicles back home! It’s not easy but I’ve done it 🤣. I leapfrogged two cars home from about 6 miles away. 1 mile at a time 😫the madness of this hobby + youth=life lessons lol. Once my shop repairs are finished from the tornado damage we had I will be able to get back to a normal workload and I will certainly become a member! Your knowledge of this stuff is very impressive, and it’s very valuable also. I appreciate the reference videos you’ve made, I’ve been reminded of things that I’ve forgotten over the years, and I’ve learned several new things watching your channel over the last year. Being able to reach out to someone who knows this stuff when you get stumped can be the difference between moving forward in days or getting frustrated where you walk away from that project….for me (at least on my personal projects) that could be between 6 months-6 years later before getting back to it! Those unfinished projects get heavy on the shoulders over time too. Thanks for all your Mopar contribution Jamie…and your fuzzy headed brother Colin too! 😁👏👏
Nice video. Took me all day ... off and on to watch it but I liked it. I see you arent used to heavy traffic. You wouldn't make a good NASCAR driver. Round here people cut in front of me all the time doing 80 with only inches to spare. I do it to them too. You were driving a wonky wagon lol. Oh and I would buy some merch if you had cooler artwork.
No, I hate traffic. I love our artwork. It's unique and straightforward. I can't please everybody and wouldn't want to. But, having said that, we'll definitely have more designs of varying flavors eventually.
Hahaha, I love it,, "to put extra funds in my pocket to make more bad financial decisions, Like this right here ",,..😂 I just watched Tom's video, Then 2 minutes after that your video came on I jumped right on it you had only 18 views at the time.. now let me get back to the video...❤
The Elevator! It has a view of the dam and Willamette River from the top there, as I recall, and across to West Linn. It's probably as close to "Weird" as you wanna get. KPW
My 66 hardtop is the same color (although with a bronze roof), same interior as yours! I did find that the earlier 66's have the '65 front swaybar - yours is the later one, mine is the '65 one. And I see that recipe for the stroker is from Gary Pavlovich, still the Poly guru and super helpful.
Originally the car didn’t have a bar. I was going to install the goofy factory style bar that I removed from my early ‘66 Charger. It had clamp mounts on the strut rods. But instead we put a Hellwig kit on it.
@@DeadDodgeGarage That sounds like my early '66/'65 setup. I wish I could find poly bushes for that. And this video was very timely - need to do LCA bushings, so will go with poly as you suggest. Looks like it would avoid needing a press too?
Try driving in Rhode Island. State is 49 miles long and on a good day will take you on the average an hour to get anywhere and they will take your bumper off to get in front of you.😂
I'm not paying for any youtuber. I didn't ask you to film yourself doing things you were already doing/getting paid for. That being said, you are an amazing wealth of info and are very good at what your boss already pays you for.
I make *far* more from ads on these videos than I make from my *part time* job now. About half (or less) of what you see on the channel are projects from the job where my "boss" "pays me." I'm actually a self-employed, self-governed contractor who has one primary contract, but I guess that's just semantics. The original station wagon rear leaf springs were the same ones used for taxi cab and police packages. They were even heavier than the Street Hemi springs.
That wagon is absolutely phenomenal 🤩🏁
That lift , was straining
Ummm.... not that I noticed 🤐
Did I ever tell you about my first
co - op job , as a CAP student 🔧
Where the service lift was pulling out of the cement ? .... anyways .....
Look at all of the rich history that wagon was through

It's rated for 7200, it's fiiiiiine... Haha. You bet, thank you!
@@DeadDodgeGarage They are not that heavy. My '66 Charger is around 3,600 pounds. I can't see the wagon much heavier. I just read wagon 3,500?
I had a spare on my Rambler that was retreaded in 1962. didn't shake, had no balance wights, lots of tread. one day I had a flat. put on the spare. was driving it to a tire store. and it Sheed a bunch of rubber. now out of balance at speeds of 25 mph it shook the front end. after 10 miles we got to the tire store. it never went flat. It still looked good on the back bumper. because of the wide whitewall. this happened in 2008. date code on the tire was 1959. I used it in the 80s a lot. but then relegated it to the spare.
thumbs up for the Loudon Wainwright reference!
I knew someone would appreciate that. Haha.
Those slots look pretty good! Not as good as the ones that were on it but you gotta do what you gotta do.
The small block sounds good. But that big block...sweet music.
Hahaha, I love it,, "to put extra funds in my pocket to make more bad financial decisions,
Like this right here ",,..😂
I just watched Tom's video,
Then 2 minutes after that your video came on I jumped right on it you had only 18 views at the time.. now let me get back to the video...❤
Sweet Coronet. September 7th in Redmond OR is the swap meet for Central Oregon!
The Elevator! It has a view of the dam and Willamette River from the top there, as I recall, and across to West Linn. It's probably as close to "Weird" as you wanna get. KPW
Spent decades pushing a rig through traffic. I still have half a nerve left. Wagons wobble but they don't fall down! Usually :-)
1:15:20 west coast hops fields .......awesome!
This vid saddens me but keep on keepin on boss!
The ride of the original Dodge Brothers....
What an awesome wagon 😍 😎
cool dragon wagon bet it holds a ton of snacks
Dude, you can fit SO MUCH spaghetti in that bad boy.
If 2 white mopars crash into each other an angel loses its wings…..
The wagon is bad ass I dig the sunn o sticker wish those amps were not like mopar money these days
Yeah, it's been fun 😊
Try driving in Rhode Island. State is 49 miles long and on a good day will take you on the average an hour to get anywhere and they will take your bumper off to get in front of you.😂
UGH
Awesome Demon can! 👍🏻
Well that was a lot more fun than doing the, well you know, the "Chores" on a Sunday afternoon. Now. Where was I ???
I don’t know - but thank you for signing on! I appreciate it!
I like cragers also kinda grew up with them
Yea,I just took the NOS 185 80 13s off the front of my 65 Dart,Year 2000 vintage,put 195 70 14s on her,Hankooks,they were cheap.Upgrade!
Love the content!
I'm not paying for any youtuber. I didn't ask you to film yourself doing things you were already doing/getting paid for. That being said, you are an amazing wealth of info and are very good at what your boss already pays you for.
You may have some misconceptions about what he gets paid for and what he doesn’t.
I make *far* more from ads on these videos than I make from my *part time* job now. About half (or less) of what you see on the channel are projects from the job where my "boss" "pays me." I'm actually a self-employed, self-governed contractor who has one primary contract, but I guess that's just semantics. I wouldn't want anyone who doesn't really, really like me to sign up for a membership. And apparently that's not you. That's fine! Thanks.
@@DeadDodgeGarage Classy.
Very nice car.
That Tech support would be useful when I get to the 86 lancer im going to be getting to eventually.
You should be aware that I’m far from an expert on those 😅
