the premise of the final episode being a super tense, high action and high-stakes bout against most of the villains from previous episodes that constantly gets cut out by sam and max reminiscing over episodes that never happened outside of this episode for the sake of "this show has turned into a clip show" is funny as fuck

After watching every single episode of this series, I can faithfully say this show needs a reboot. Probably one on Adult Swim or something. You could get the voice of Sam from the games and the voice of Max in this show (if they're up to it), get some good writers, and we could have a faithful reboot to cherish.
Papa Johns I know right this show was GOLD and ahead of it’s time just like Animaniacs who knows since a new season of Animaniacs is coming on Hulu next year there might be a chance for Sam and Max to return as well also they need to bring back Dan vs that show was Hilarious

Nah, not an adult swim one, should be on some kid friendly channel or on a streaming service, that way it could have the exact same almost adult but not too adult that kids can’t watch it humor
Too bad this kind of show would never fly today. I mean I bet watchers would enjoy it, but that's just why; it wouldn't be allowed to be aired, because how could today's bland garbage ever hope to compete?

Now that I've finished the series I'm close to consuming all the material Sam and Max has to offer. They're such a great duo, I wish there was more stuff involving them!
This is my favorite part of the final episode: Max:"That's cool!" Same:"Wanna come and live in our basement and devote the rest of your life to fighting crime?" Geek:"Okay." The whole thing is just hilarious, especially just how nonchalantly the Geek says "okay". The part where they first meet Lorne was pretty funny too, though.

I just realized, the flashbacks from 7:00 to 7:18 were from the comics. Mainly the small ones that were almost like the sunday funnies. Those of you who bought Surfin' The Highway will know what I'm talking about.
Man, if they made a new series of Freelance Police for the modern day... It probably wouldn't have have that 90's charm and wackiness the original had, but if Telltale had a hand or two in it, it'd retain a significant degree.
'THAT'S COOL!" "WANNA COME AND LIVE IN OUR BASEMENT AND DEVOTE THE REST OF YOUR LIFE TO FIGHTING CRIME?!" "...ok" I wish The Geek would make an appearance in the newer stuff. She balances out the insanity level quite well.
These were all so much fun to watch, and particularly hard to describe to people. ^_^ I look forward to rapidly consuming all related media I can get my grubby little internet paws on. Thanks for uploading all these here videos!!
Fun stuff w/the memories, including swallowing a bomb, bulletproof glass, & the budget animation of 4:45 XD Also, Darla meeting them. Quite the rescue from the babies. :) And the bomb being neutralized, lol. Wild ep & series. Thanks!
@BeTheUnstoppable no problem yeah Sam and Max was created in 1987 by Steve Purcell. In 1993 Lucasarts made Sam and Max Hit the Road, this cartoon series was aired from 1997-1998. in 2006 Telltale Games purchased the rights to Sam and Max and made Sam and Max their flagship game series. (the most recent game was the Devils Playhouse released last year) Throughout this entire time Purcell continued to make comics about them, i don't know if he still does though. glad to help :)
I have watched this dozens of times and yet I still forget that the phone finally does ring one last time. Who knows, maybe we can get a good reboot of this show. Sam & Max are getting some deserved attention again thanks to the remasters and that VR game, so perhaps some new adventures with the Freelance Police may be in the future. I sure hope so otherwise I might just rig the lottery in my favor and spend the winning buying the rights and paying for everyone necessary to do so myself. It won’t end well, but that’s what desperation does to a poor soul like mine.
Not sure if the cartoonish depiction and understanding of firearms is intentional, but I find it hilarious. It's even worse than S.W.A.T., but still better than Super Girl somehow.
gosh i'm disappointed that this show ended at season 1. there's still the games but it just ain't the same! maybe eventually when people run out of thing to remake they'll get to sam & max and make a movie, at the very least.

Agreed. But, can I ask: is your game as good as it looks?
I'll say it again: This show deserved WAY MORE than 24 episodes.
Actually it lasted 13 episodes. 2 are full length and 11 each have 2 segments.
