The ClearClick is fantastic, only downside is that It needs a power bank to charge it so you’ll have to mount that to your VX as well otherwise it works amazingly.
been trying to hunt one of these down ever since i saw your video. way easier said than done. instead i took advantage of getting Focus Enhancements FS-4, although I have not even used it yet...hope it turns out good. Thanks for the update.
@@charvao damn are they actually decent? i kinda thought the setup for it is a bit more janky compared to how this Immersion setup is, plus it seems that has more benefits. I'll have to actually commit to using it but for now I'm still buying DV tapes lol :d
@@thombirdss hey man, i do have an FS-4 it works very well for me so far. the quality seems just like tape quality which is nice. i used it with the last 4 videos i posted. definitely worth the investment in my opinion. i have not really figured out a good way to strap it to the VX yet so i've just been holding it with my other hand. check out Ben Jones's Ultimate Guide to Tapeless on UA-cam, he has a whole demo of the unit and how it works. hope this helps!
you think you could do a footy comparison between using the yellow red white RCA cables vs using an S-video cable for the video? i think it should help with the Lux issues with using the analog outputs on the VX and might get it pretty almost damn near DV quality
I could definitely try! I will order a cable soon to try it out because I’ve always wondered if that the quality would be better though S video, but I feel like it won’t ever be as good as FireWire as it has massive file sizes and keeps all the quality
@@charvao forsure! it’ll probably still be compressed just a bit but i feel like it’ll solve that bleeding like color problem outside white pixels with the RCA outputs.
They are many more of these tapeless devices out there, also for way cheaper. Just search for "Mini DVR" They were originally made to capture standard AV footage from drones
@@flat-earther you‘re right, they are often pretty low quality I actually use tapes cause I kinda like the hustle in a way, but going tapeless is obviously easier But the best way to do it is to grab the Focus FS5 which is a portable device that records via FireWire instead of AV. FireWire has better quality (in fact no quality loss) and also gives you the option of making slow mo clips later in editing since it kinda records in 60fps. That’s definitely the way to go, but the thing is pretty expensive. There‘s an older one from Sony (HVR-MRC1) which does the same thing but is also pretty expensive. Unfortunately there are not a lot of portable FireWire recorders out there, but the FS-5 is the one to get if you have the money
After using the power play, I plug the sd card into my computer and my computer says the videos aren’t on there, but the power play says the videos are. Do you know what I’m doing wrong?
love your channel mate, would you be interested in making yt videos regarding your "skatefashion"? I saw multiple of your skate edits and all of them looked realy unique, not only due to your friends and your sense of clothing. I'd personally enjoy a vid on "what skaters wear in 2021/22" or smth among those lines.

My power play footage is super dark and contrasty and it visually glitches when it records audio. Like when it hears a noise it will glitch out. I’ve heard it only works when the wire is 2/3rds of the way in but mine only works 1/3rd of the way in and it moves around :/

is the ClearClick's audio mono or stereo? i heard the Powerplay's audio is mono

Can the clearclick work like the immersionrc, or do you have to record on a tape and then transfer it to the clearclick?
