- In this SnowRunner how to unlock the Zikz 605R guide, I take you step-by-step through the process and show my best routes. Includes how to reach the Warehouse, craft Steel Beams, unlock the Cosmodrome garage and clear the Landslide in the East and A Heap of Work tasks.
NOTE: This video was made on the Public Test Server (PTS). Things did change as expected! You need two Service Spare Parts instead of two Cements for the Fallen Trees, the railway bridge alternative route might be blocked and you may encounter a new boulder near the end.

Hello! Here's how to get the Zikz 605R albeit a few things have changed since PTS. See the article link in the description for my routes and updated tips. Sadly, the devs have made it so you can no longer use the railway bridge crossing (which I thought might happen hence my suggestion of a different route) and there is a rogue rock later on that blocks the sneaky last section to the Zikz 605R. Apparently you can also go straight to the Zikz without having to start the task. Bah humbug. Thank you for your patience!

It's easier if you just do the task "Warehouse Troubles" as it gives you 10 metal beams in urska which can be used to repair all the bridges in urska River + the gateway instead of going back and forth with the metal rolls.

Just to add a bit more info you can do warehouse problems task and it will give you 10 metal beams at the warehouse and i think it is easier.😎

The route is not that difficult, just beware of the second ice Gap near the Warehouse, when your coming back to the ice gap nearest to the warehouse, be mindful of how slippery and difficult it is to aim your truck straight without sliding and make sure your truck is straight or else your load will most likely fall, when in the third ice Gap, the ice is very thin so I recommend you bring a truck to tow your truck out of the ice, once passed the gap, take a ln immediate right turn and stick to the edge of the ice until it is thick again, then take a U turn and head towards the gap in the forest where there is a building and a small dirt road, there you will find the cosmodrome garage then take the easier road towards the service trailer and haul it back and now you have unlocked cosmodrome and can now get zikz 605r
For the fallen trees while unlocking the Zikz, you no longer use cement, it is now Service Spare Parts

@@ATribeCalledCars I'm doing this now and I've had to go back and forth, multiple times! Over the mountains and through the woods, to the zikz 605r I go. I now know the way to carry supplies, through the white and drifted snow, oh! The messed up thing is the steel bars is on the bottom of the map and the spare parts are at the top. They REALLY make you work for it.

Yay!!! Thank you, sir, for this video! I was able to obtain the Zikz today! I did it a tad bit different than most. I towed it back to the garage and just repaired it there. Happy to have it in its new home.

Quoting one of your previous vids, looks like the rocks and boulders are done with their holiday on Imadra. So they are back to work on Ursa, Cosmowhatever, and the other two maps. LOL. This Zikz is definitely worth all that work. I’m told it is as equally good as most mods.
Hah well remembered. The boulders have definitely found a new holiday resort in all four maps. But as you said it's mod-level and looks epic. Plus you'll get the Cosmodrome garage anyway (the Cherno garage is far tougher).

Another truck that they should add is the kraz-255. That truck was a beast also from mudrunner.
Thankfully I was able to acquire the ZikZ 605-R and I have been using it quite a bit. It has really made a big difference for me in the Maine region. However, I still haven't gotten the Amur Region completed halfway but it's excellent for most of the contests in the Taymyr region especially the Oil Field Delivery contest in Zimnegorsk map.
A sneaky trick I use for those difficult quick maneuvres: I let it autosave before attempting something risky, then if I fuck it up (like tip over or something) I hit alt-F4 like a flash of lightning and more often than not it reverts to the autosave _just_ before the would-be catastrophe.
It's a bit like quantum entanglement, knowmsayin'?

@@The_Goose Go into your menu and out again, that usually causes the game to save ;)
For players that are watching this now, you need service spare parts for the logs in the way where he used cement, and you can not go to the zikz via the curch you have to go to the rear of the island from the zikz point of fiew. Make your way up between the threes when you are directly behind the ziks and then go up on the rocks to your leftand side, continiue on the sketchy path and keep your ninja winch at hand. Then when you see it going down slowly head in that direction and let yourself roll AND DONT FLIPPPPP. That’s it.

I used a heavy 8 slot trailer for the gateway mission. No joke must have been 2 hours to get across the bottom ice field closest to the gateway. Wish I had seen your guide sooner lol

Even easier unlock the warehouse by delivering a curtainside trailer and get free steel beams and wood planks and the service spare parts.
This worked perfectly lol I spent an embarrassing amount of time stuck in trees and snow trying to go other ways 😭😭😭 lol

my strategy for unlocking cosmodrome was use the massive teal ford monster limo for the service parts and planks, then tow an AZOV with the iX box trailer attached and craft the metal beams then deliver them to the tunnel
also i went around the whole steel mill mountain and came up up that backroad
Good tips. I towed a Tayga with the iX and that OP cargo addon, worked nicely although the Zikz 605R didn't really struggle.
I just embarked on the Amur Oblast journey yesterday and securing the 605R is my project for this weekend.
I've only pulled about 1,000 of my hairs out so far, it's fine 🙃

@@ATribeCalledCars Literally just unlocked the 605R, and I've got to say, scaling the rocks behind the church and then hearing a Geiger counter start clicking as I approached the Zikz and the shipwrecked UFO is one of the coolest moments I've experienced in a video game.

well, yeah. this is what game teaches you from the very beginning at Black River
a flaw i realised was that it is way easier to head straight down the road cause the task is also right next to the zikz605r which means you would save a lot of trouble by going sthraight down the path and rather reapair the fallen trees there but thx anyways this vid helped me a lot

@@ravensfootball52 got you, may be u are right, but sometimes i m wondering will be snowrunner 2 or 3 in the future and playing the game in my mind 😆 so the idea of discovering something amaze me.
Before you do this make sure to do warehouse trouble task that can be unlocked at the warehouse, it saves you so much time because it allows you to get steel bars without having to use metal rolls and convert them into steel bars also if your lazy like me and don't wanna go back and forwards until you have delivered all of the materials, you can go road train mode and connect multiple trucks together with trailers so you can do it in one go, it can also allow you to winch yourself out of difficult situation

ok thanks, because on my first attempt to get metal beams with 4 metal rolls, my road train kolob with 4 slot trailer + caterpillar with fuel add on get stuck in the lowlands nearby the factory on the northern side... a fallen tree didnt allow me to move forward and the alternative path had too many rocks

when you are doing a heap of work, you can use a cat 745c to tow you across the breakable ice. Much easier that tring to trail across the edge
At 6 minutes I get to thevice crossing and get a 745 and dream the truck with beams across the ice, yes it breaks but the 745 once the wheels are moving put it in high gear and the tyres spin fast, wiggle left and right and it won't stall and it gets through pretty quickly. Once you have been through once you can do ir even faster. So line up all your loads then do them all at once without leaving the map and it's easy as pie.
Edit: I use the twinstweer a ton here, it's fast and high gear works excellently. The stump of hell is easy to deal with too, stick the the left as you approach the hill and put the front wheels on the rock, if you time it right the truck slides off as you pass and the stump catches you preventing you from tipping.
My free time lately has been dwindling in light of real world problems I've had to attend to, I'm currently suffering from A Task Catalog Congestion that goes back to the Yukon. Honestly can't wait to have a free day to binge trucks again.
That thing called real life, definitely not conducive to tipping over in Imandra. Hopefully A Thing Called Chill returns soon.

Looked like there was some kind of nuclear meltdown right by the Zikz 605R location, there was also some kind of ticking noise like a Geiger counter
After many, many attempts, and frustration, i finally got it. Lol

I got a question what do I do if I'm completely out of planks to unlock the cosmodrome because my idiot friend deleted all them because he got them stuck so I don't know where to craft anymore

I found a way of getting to the quarry (and from there its not too far to the metal beam factory) without taking the mud in the west. There is a very steep drop from the paved road in the southwest of the quarry, and if you dodge the right tree you can just roll down to the quarry, i did it with cargo on Twinsteers many times. Just an alternative route to the metal factory, and nice paved road most of the way.
Route suggestions are welcome, the quarry suggestion sounds good. I'll check it out.

One minute into your video you have a beast of a truck...... what mod gives you those bi-fold ramps on the back of a flatbed??? I'm guessing it's a PC only mod and not for console. But I'm on PS4 and want them badly.

how tf can you even get to the warehouse? its impossible to get onto. and you need 2 metal beams to clear the bridge to it. but you cant get steel rolls anywhere else?
@@TheBmxHD as seen in the vídeo, to get there, you have to use the ice path seen in the vídeo, thing Is you need a capable truck to cross, i recommend using a 8x8 and if you prefer It, bring a crane boi (truck with a big crane) to get the cargo in case you Dont cross the gap and you just recover the truck that flipped, you can also use a twinsteer since they aré usually large and flipping in that gap with a twinsteer Is rather hard, also, to my knoledge, in that map there Is no other way to get the metal rolls

Tried doing this last night. On my way back with the steel beams, my truck and trailer got stuck on a goddamn tree branch on the way back down. When I tried to pull them out both flipped. 2 hours of time wasted and man was I pissed lol
That sounds miserable, those tree branches are the worst. Hopefully you get back in the saddle soon!
I followed this tutorial and finally got to the Zikz but was 30l short on fuel. Doh!
And if you want to cross the rivers easy use a crane to place ramped flatbed trailers across the smaller gaps.

does the still mill require a generator prior to work?
I don't know if anyone has said it yet, but for the "most annoying tree stump ever" I drive just around the right side through the trees going both up and down the hill. For me it's reduced the chance of hanging and tipping, and it's probably faster as well.
That does work, I do it too. However with a trailer it can be a pain sometimes. Just wish the stump would be vanquished to stump heaven!

Worth watching my best trucks for Amur video as that has the best options. One of the best trucks lives in Amur so worth getting it even though it's a bit of a challenge!

I had been playing snowrunner, then it showed up in xbox game pass and friend grabbed and we started playing coop. He liked it so much he decided to buy the full game and year 1 pass combo from the xbox store. After downloading the DLCs, he loaded the game and found a 605R and a Marshall in his truck storage. The package doesn't say anything about those trucks being free, so we have no idea why they showed up.
Weird, the Marshall was maybe included recently or something. Been a while since I got it. But the 605R is meant to be locked! Happy days.
How do I get the mission to unlock the Cosmodrome tunnel entrance.It says the tunnel is locked and I have no mission there to open it.I am confused because I have built all bridges and removed all landslides up to it's entrance,yet I have no way to get to the next map.What am I doing wrong?

You can fix and refuel the ZIKZ with vanilla Tatarin that winched to a scout 800 just make sure both of them have roof racks. Enjoy
Holly crap this looks like ots gonna be a hard map
It's actually toughest initially but eases off. Much more enjoyable than Imandra, especially now we have mod trucks if we get a bit fed up.
Icy riverside right by Zikz is now not drivable and the river is deep. One alternative is to take a small scout and go along the path on rocks. You'll need to do this several times to carry enough fuel over.
The devs really changed it, fun times.
Does the zikz worth it? Is better than flat front Azov? Wich one is better here, Azov 64131 or tayga?? Both with small crane and 5 slot trailer
I think off-road yes, but it is more limited in terms of addons. As for Phase 4, I've not tested all my usual trucks yet but the mod and snow is really thick in places and stability is important so I would probably favour trucks with the biggest wheels and widest track. 64131 and Tayga King would work well, in theory.

@@salvador_mano4x4 The Zikz is more limited than 73210 but more than Kolobs. I feel like the Zikz would be as good with trailers but I've not tested properly yet.
I think for me it’s going to be a long trip lol I only just managed to squeeze the 5600 through for the metal beams so it may be back to the 2 slot bandit for me haha
lol it is a slow process. In case you didn't see, you can run Warehouse Trouble and get 10 Steel Beams for free. Not too difficult a mission, just need to follow the curvy road basically in the North West. Good luck! 5600TS is one of the better trucks for Amur.
Just do the warehouse problems task and build all the bridges if u dont do easy crossing the ice also i think it makes the tunnel delivering process easy

Guys I have a problem. I can't find the task to unlock the gateway. I drove up to the tunnel and it appears th message "This passage seems to be blocked for now". Any ideas?
Activate the mission in the menu, then you can start it.

It's not so bad if you take a great scout with repair equipment. Although that has its challenges too.
Nvm, I got to the steel mill just to find out there is no fuel anywhere around...honestly Snowrunner end for me on Taymyr/Michigan...above that it's just not fun anymore and the Urska River with the branches catching the truck from random angles are too much for me.
Honestly, Amur is super tough. More enjoyment in all other maps unless you're the kind of player who wants the challenge.
And once you drive to the Cosmodrome garage, you will meet up with two guardians fated to save the Traveller from the clutches of the evil Whitness
After which, you are transported to a nightmare realm where tea is banned.
One other thing. I’m not sure the path across to the landslide is as forgiving either. I spent a considerable amount of time trying to follow your guide and trying to find the unbreakable ice with no success. I was on hard mode so I had to retreat. I had to open the bridge to the island and the bridge to the town. I could be wrong, but I think it is pretty well shut down
There's definitely a trick to it. You can actually go back on yourself and save a lot of time but a good turning circle is essential and some trucks can struggle. I've not done it on hard so that could also change the dynamic. Fortunately there are many ways to skin this particular cat.
@@ATribeCalledCars Maybe, but I can say that getting the 605R is no easy task. It took me an estimated 25+ hours and a full fleet of trucks consisting of the Azov 73, (short flatbed and crane), GMC 9500H (tanker and low saddle), CAT 745 C (tanker and recovery), BMW (Flatbed and ground clearance) , and the F-750 (Exploration and Utility). Granted, I used no mods and some of that time was spent cleaning up and messes and exploring new routes to the steel mill. At one point I was at risk of failure when both of my tankers were empty and my trucks were on fumes. Luckily, this was after opening the second bridge to the town, and I happened to see the overturned semi-fuel tanker in the water. I used it to refuel my vehicles and complete a heap of work. I opened the fuel station and was able to continue on. It was definitely a memorable experience, So you can imagine how disheartened I was when I got to the church and found they blocked the way with the rock. I was in my Azov at the time :(
@@SECElit3 The rock change at the end is annoying but you can usually winch up the path to the right over the rocks. Depending on the truck, of course. I'll be avoiding PTS guides now, too much changed sadly. A gamble gone wrong, but hopefully it was still a useful video.

hmm there is no task at the gateway to comsodrome....just says road is blocked for now...
Go into tasks or contracts then you can choose to track it and away you go.
IMPORTANT INFO: On the mission to unlock Cosmodome, sometime, the equipment trailer will not spawn. Just restart the mission and it will. I just did it. (Yeah... a pain...)

The Cherno garage is an even bigger effort but still enjoyable. More technical than repetitive, which I much prefer.

there is a boulder blocking the very last path after the church now. i have worked on getting this truck for 7 days total, im actually starting to lose my mind lol
Oh yeah read my written guide in the description, it's a pain. Depending on winch range, there might be a path you can take over behind the church. I think it's slightly highlighted on the map.
I've been playing this game non-stop for months. Recently I had to give it a break on the Amur maps and play some GTA V and other gamepass games. This is the first map that I started using MODs and it has given new life to the game. I try to use mods that still give it a challenge, but level the playing field a bit. I don't mind the challenges in the game, but the repetitive missions hauling multiple loads gets boring so I'll use bigger trailers, or mods that allow more cargo slots.
It took me a long time to figure out what the requirement was just to unlock the Cosmodrome gateway. I wish that when you were at the gateway it would tell you to complete the contract, Heap of Work, instead of just saying it's blocked.
This is a great video that explains how to unlock the garage, and the Zikz. I just hope this map isn't as hard as Urska River, but I have a feeling it will be.
Glad the video was useful. Urska River is worse I'd say, although some tough bits in Cosmo and Cherno. It's the other map that's true hell - although with time you do find some less miserable routes. Definitely no shame in using more powerful mods to reduce the grind and increase enjoyment! It's a game after all :)
Don’t know if anybody is interested but you don’t need to go to the complex to get the stargazer mission you can just go straight to the zikz 605r the stargazer mission will be right next to it

The repair trailer to unlock cosmodome is not there. Is this a bug ?
You could try to reset the missin if it doesn't work then idk
I heard this might be a bug, just my luck it was fine when I made the video. If I see how to fix I'll mention in the pinned comment, but I would do what Allun said and try to restart.
