Top 8 Upcoming Space Simulation Games in 2024! - Ігри
Underspace and Starship Simulator, both games I composed the soundtracks for made this list. So proud!
That is awesome. The Starship Simulator soundtrack is quite classic while Underspace I felt you got quite creative to match the games feel? You should be proud 🚀
Played the demo to starship simulator I agree with the take on the music nice work 👍🏽
@@GrabmeCoffeeThe demo’s out now!?
@@TieflingKumasi yes! Steam
@@GrabmeCoffee It’s a lot of fun!
Thanks for adding us - and I agree, let's get in touch ;) /greg
Thanks Greg. Long term fan of your games. We would be delighted to make contact regarding more on X4!
X4 really got me addicted. Bonus is that they are a small studio and do have fair DLC policy unless some tripple A studios nowadays. Great game!
And when it's a worthwhile expansion to a game I'm that into. I don't mind! 🚀😃
X4 is always great and has come a really long way. Underspace seems to be doing something quite different here which is cool.
The X4 Star Wars mod is amazing!
Thanks for including us! See you at the Early Access release date on April 10, 2024! :D
We look forward to it 🚀
Thanks so much for the list of links (in the description)...I'd not heard of most of these. Sub'ed.
AND X4 7.0 is in beta - Egosoft has done an amazing job of supporting and growing the game. It’s an incredible game for a space sim fan! ❤
That is a pretty epic list! Underspace caught my eye in particular. Also great to see some Wing Commander make an appearance.
Underspace could be an indie gem 💎
I cannot wait for starship simulator, shows a lot of promise
Liked the idea of Space Trucker but, as with the more conventional land-based games, I was constantly jack knifing and having the container become uncontrollable 😆
So glad I found this channel.
Love this list and maybe one day soon NTL (vids under channel) will make one of your upcoming lists
Is your game on Steam?
@@LTGamingUA-cam not yet. The development stage is still ongoing. When a playable sli e of the game is ready, we will look into either a Kickstarter or steam early access release.
We will take community input on that and work with our community to make sure we deliver the best experience.
Thanks for the reply !
@@NoTimeLeft_ of course..anyway to check out your game? I've a few similar projects I'm looking at!
@@LTGamingUA-cam my UA-cam channel has videoscfor the project. When production get a bit further along, we will try to develop a small demo or playable version. Thanks!
@@NoTimeLeft_ keep in touch 😃
X4 - The best single player space game/sim of all times in my opinion, but glad to see there are more people out there thinking the same.
Capital Command looks like something I've been waiting a long time for, and had even started to consider trying to make myself... A modern spiritual successor to Nexus: The Jupiter Incident.
Yeah it looks awesome! I just wish it was going to be multiplayer... I don't usually play singleplayer games at all, although I'll probably still get it due to the realistic physics. It looks super cool.
Nexus was such a waste of potential. The story was great but they dropped the ball on making it non-linear. It could have been 5 times greater than it was. Ship customization was also superficial because there were only 1-2 setups that got you through the missions.
Me and my brother had a similar prototype. But we wanted to do it Eve style where we quickly found out server load through the damn roof, so we made it for home servers, like Minecraft. I wrote gravity and EM system. Out thing though was we had every single missile, cruise missile, gun emplacement, PD, every ship, every drone, it's own virtual operating system, so most things had their own copy of FreeRTOS but we had 2 others you could use, upside being you could modify every single little thing to your liking in software but it needs to be simplified. It has great challenges, like getting random procedural galaxies set up without breaking everything.
The server part had *massive* memory leaks that were hard to solve, we needed to fake 128bit precision for every single star system in the galaxy. It would be ideal if we could just make 256 bit precision. The whole server part needs to be rewritten and I want to but each and every time I get too lazy.
I do want to pick it up again. We will see.
Hi, Thanks for adding us! (Stellar Wanderer DX)
Most welcome keen to see more on your game!
How can we get in contact? 🙂
@@c0mas check out our email in the About section on the channel! Would be happy to hear from you - Luke
Finally, some interesting titles in one of these vids and not just Star Citizen, Starship EVO, and No Man's Sky AGAIN
Glad you enjoyed it 🚀🚀
@@LTGamingUA-camYou aware of Alliance Space Guard? Another upcoming hardcore sim that I am perhaps the most excited for, alongside Starship Simulator
@@ubertuna1 I will check it out now!
Keep up up the awesome work, team!
I played the Capital Command demo and was actually quite underwhelmed. On the other hand I've been totally absorbed by X4 lately... what a fantastic game. Can't wait for the new content.
Yeah it took a little time with me but I did enjoy it. X4 is one of my favorite games of all time so you have my full agreement. Any new content is also welcome as a way to dive back in 😃
Always enjoy a trip thru the galaxies with LTG at the starship helm....another fine review packed with subjective and fair views....onwards and upwards x
Fantastic video, I'm a big fan of the X series and space games in general. So looking forward to playing some of these titles. See a lot of demos are available now so you can try before you buy. One game not on your list which I'm looking forward too is Hell Galaxy. Thanks again and just subscribed to your channel 👍
Thanks so much for the kind words! and support :) I really enjoyed making this one. Yeah I was playing Hell Galaxy this week. A really good suggestion :)
Hey Luke, thank you for covering Hunternet Starfighter. I'm currently working on Hunternet's biggest gameplay update yet, fully operational carriers. These Star Destroyer scale ships will be at the core of war efforts in Hunternet's persistent world. o7
Count us extremely interested to cover the game moving forward! Really enjoyed putting it on this list and think it's a very ambitious project 🚀 Star Destroyers sound epic!
@@LTGamingUA-camThank you Luke, it's looking like it will turn out to be something quite epic :)! Back to work, so I can share it with you guys as soon as possible :)
Liked an sub'ed. Only because you love X4 Foundation 🤣🤣 stay Awesome dude ✌️
Appreciate it! X4 is Awesome :)
after years and years of playing space games it has always been just two that stand out. mass effect and elite dangerous. i just want MORE
Awesome list boys!
I'd love to see more classic narrative driven space games popping up... however there are some quite interesting ones in here!
i would love a modern day remake of X-wing and TIE-Fighter in a open space MMO.... With the handling and look&feel of Star Wars Squadrons but other than that fully customizable ships, factions, resources.
I wonder, why nobody is wanting to get the money, one could make out of such game if executed well.....
I've spent much more than 1000 hours in the fantastic X3 games! Thanks for the list, a few ones I didn't know about despite that space games are among my favorite :)
Most welcome. Yeah if you put in my time in X3 and X2 it must be around the same! The type of game that excites me. The list was fun to put together and always fun to raise awareness of new games 🚀🚀
Can't wait for the X4 DLC!!!!
Yeah its always great to have more!
Although it's already released another good one is Delta V: Rings of Saturn. It uses the triangle symbol for delta so it's a bit tricky to find on steam but search for rings of saturn and it pops up. It's a 2D space mining game that features very realistic physics and has very much The Expanse vibe to it. I haven't played it in a bit but I know the developer at one point talked about reaching out to the creators of The Expanse to see if he could use Belter creole.
Great list. I've seen a few on here that I'm going to take a look at already.
Appreciate the feedback and I know the game! :)
oh damn, you changed mic, and voice? Keep it up man, respect
There is two of us? :P Luke & Tom - LT Gaming :)
Missing *Falling Frontier* and *Era One* ! More are RTS-like than first-person space sims, but I'm super-excited for them, when it comes to Space-themed games!
Falling Frontier was delayed! Il have to check out Era One now 🚀
One of these days, space sims will get asteroid belts scientifically accurate, but I'm not hopeful.
Good video, i really like your way you present the games and why you think they are worth our time :)
I made our PR manager aware of your work. You might get a mail in the future (no promises though).
EDIT: ah, i see he already wrote you, nice! :)
Awesome! We are glad your appreciate it. And yes have spoken to him 🚀
As a backer, I'm excited to see Hunternet on another space sim list. We still have a way to go before having many of the gameplay loops, but it is currently my absolute favorite space combat game. By the time Steam EA is available, it will be truly overall fantastic. I'm especially excited to see what Fernando/CPU Dreams(whom has already commented here) will come up with for an alien threat.
Wish my Privateer 2 would run properly, might have to play around with dos box, tried to run it in a virtual windows ME.
added these to my steam wishlist to keep track of them. I bought X4 5 years ago and have been meaning to gte back into it.
Lots to look forward to here and X4 is one I always go back too! Really a fave genre of mine 🚀 - Luke
Star Atlas is worth mentioning but since it's blend of game and reality you have to be mature enough to apprieciate it.
cool stuff 👍
You forgot Nebulous command fleet.
Love the Star Trucker idea. It's like being able to play a bit in the Cowboy Bebop universe. :D
I'm excited for it! 🚀
I'm not a trucking fan but the visuals of it look great.
I'm decently excited for Star Trucker as an avid fan of space and trucking sims, I just wish the ships were more than "American trucks with rocket engines." I've been on the hunt lately for a really good hauling space game, even in something like X4 but all anyone points me to is Space Trucker. I'm still going to buy it but man... I want sleek hauling action.
Also fantastic video! A lot of these I knew about but a lot I didn't!
Glad you enjoyed it. Honestly I enjoy the cargo side of Star Citizen a lot atm!
@@LTGamingUA-cam same here… when it works. Been trying to save up for a better hauler than the Aurora I currently have but the verse seems against me sometimes 😅
@@prototype102010 I went Hull A then Freelancer and now moving onto the Starlifter. Have your tried renting?
@@LTGamingUA-cam I haven’t! Didn’t realize that was a thing! I’ll look into that. I have had my eye on the hull class of ships so I might go for the A.
The hull C gameplay I’ve seen, docking in the special loading areas of stations is exactly what I’m looking for, but last I checked it wasn’t fully in game yet.
Check it out. Its a really good option to get started.@@prototype102010
Unfortunatelly I never got into X4 even though have all the dlcs (and also will buy the next one) and spent far over 1000 h into X3TC trilogy. The X series always was about menu management, but X4 topped its predecessors by far. So I started Farnham's Legacy again.
That is actually really good :)
Been playing Space sims for over 30yrs, Sorry, non of these titles appealed to me. (X4 is okay but still lacks that undefined something ) I'm sure they will be great games for some players though and thank you for the work you put into this video.
Surprising if you like Space Sims tbh as X4 is excellent. But thanks for the kind words nonetheless 😃🚀
as a longtime fan of the x series, timelines so far looks like many people aren't looking forward to it. one might say it's the "rebirth" of x4 dlcs. i hope i'll be wrong because i love x4 but so far it seems like most people who just wanna play in their empire aren't a fan of that scenario-concept and i can totally understand them. i hope those "scenarios" can be started from within the game and you don't have to exit to the main menu for them
Yeah they need to be integrated for sure. But it might be interesting to have some direction within the wider sandbox. Il get early access to this and keep you all posted! X4 got a lot of future on the channel :)
Infinity: Battlesacape is set for a Q4 release. Most of the game is already there. The last stage is adding some multiplayer functionality (such as private servers) and the final polish.
Will be checking it out! I came across this while researching 🚀
I only play X4 and hopefully Homeworld 3.
Hope you are well, see you next time.
X-4!? How could you betray us like that?? 😋
Oh I was thinking of rebirth
What is the game shown from 0:06 - 0:13? Is that an rts? It looks really interesting, I've never seen it before.
X4: Foundations 🚀
They need an Expanse DLC for X4. Or just a standalone Expanse game that isn't telltale.
Hunternet Starfighter gives me a bit of a FreeSpace vibe... but it depends on the scale of battles you get involved in I guess.
x4 foundations imo is vastly under rated. it is an amazing game. I feel they advertise it poorly.. (1 big turn off is the title X4, makes it sound turn based, add on top that the look at the galaxy 2d look with hexagons. it looks sounds like galactic survival and games like it.......
not bad just not new and worth the money they are asking... they dont show what all u can really do in the x4 and it turns a lot of people off before getting it.
2nd is yes the ui and menus for people who get it. that could be cleaned up i feeel
i personally not a fan of the story quests......... add on top they are buggy and i personally struggle to figure out wtf they want me to do.
that said i skip all quests i can because of that.....
beyond that i love the game. the freedom to do almost anything.
Underspace is just a few gameplay tweaks from become a future classic
Looking at getting a review out!
@@LTGamingUA-cam just do it, sir...plox
The 1st game is announced on Kickstarter to be planned released in 2025, not 2024.
How did you not have Falling Frontier on this list? This is the game I looking forward to the most. Hopefully it does come out in 2024.
Because it was pushed back to 2025....also more of a space strategy than a sim. But I'm also pretty relaxed on definitions.
My most hours spent in a single game, Empryion Galactic Survival. Almost 4k hours.
People defo are telling me this. Been playing this week!
Nexus - The Jupiter Incident
Play it often and mod it!
i am currently looking for a game makeup of the original movie "the last star fighter" 1984, the game came out on NES. any one has the direction to the said game?
Starminer looks interesting, maybe Spacetrucker, but all-in-all the other games are pretty much the same... space dogfighting.
Check out Jump ship
On the next list 🚀
Capital command
Do this game require multiplayer? I mean, some games are good when you have enough people.
What is the game shown at 1:33?
Starminer!
Will Starship simulator have any type of combat?
Not specifically due to it being an exploration game but there will be hostile alien races that will need to be defended against. One of the planned DLC is a combat story though.
Since all spacesim spaceships having vissible propulsion means no space sim is close to be realistic...
Avorion and Betwn the Stars
Everytime I read "Space Simulation", my hope goes up. But, with the exception of "Starship Simulator", these games are all just fighting simulators in Space. Where is the fighting-free exploration of a realistic galaxy? Well, "Space Simulator", if it gets developed that far.
I think you need to take a closer look at X4!
Waiting for custom ship building and base building in a game with Star Citizen's graphics... Make it happen... 💥
Star citizen is a goddamned scam. I really feel sorry for anybody who fell for that.
I actually dont think it is and enjoy the game a lot! But this year will tell :)
@@LTGamingUA-cam The last 10 years didn't tell you anything? Not trying to be an ass but I think that gamers put up with WAY WAY TO MUCH from developers and publishers. The whole thing in star citizen about selling ships for a game that doesn't even really exist yet.. Oh man.. I dunno how any of you can keep from hanging Chris Roberts by his nutsack.
Homeworld 2?
We covered this many times. We will put that in the Space RTS bucket 😉🚀
Commentin
Is starship simulator in the star trek universe, or do the developers just want to get sued?!! 😂
The Orville did it!
Ill save you time skip to 7m and you get the actual list and everything in front is subpar at best.
Wing Commander, just with modern graphics.
Freelancer, just with modern graphics...
i really dont understand that industry..
Eve Online
I have a love hate thing for Star Citizen but the reason I dislike star citizen is it feels like things are not being prioritized where they should be prioritized . The thing I love about the game is no load screens and everything is just accessable to enter from planets, to ships to walking around and hanging out with several friends doing activities . To be blunt The technology used in Star citizen should be utilized in other games as well just with a team that will actually prioritize stability and know only to add content AFTER they stabilize the servers .
Star Citizen is about to break some serious ground!!
Haha I played it for 2 weeks solid. Had to put it down.... I'm excited to jump back in 🚀
Only if you are stress resilient enough to endure all the bugs at every turn in this game.
Thanks for the vid, but none of them look awesome.
Video starts at 2:25.
Haha you are pathetic..its starts at 00:00 You can have a kick up the backside on the way out ;)
X4 is actually a remastered version of X2. Where the updates in X2 were free of charge, almost the same updates with X4 are payable DLC's. the buglist is nearly the same for all the X games. Meaning some bugs will never change. Because the devs don't care about them. The community didn't want the changes in X3. So in all the frustrations we got X4, a game made by frustrated devs! what ones was a good update for the game in X2, are now cash inflows for X4. I wonder what X5 will be like? I hope not playing an old remastered X3 again.
But yes , as a youtuber "LT gaming", you've got financial reasons to promote this game or any other game, also cashinflows. Everyone has there own thruth ...
Yeah there is so much wrong in this comment I don't know where to start. Me and Tom are also independent in all our views on games. If we like a game it's because...we like it 😆
Oh wow i bought Space Bourne 2 a while ago but forgot about it, thanks for the reminder!
The thing is that most of these game looks like they are coming straight from the early 2000s but with better graphics.
No significant improvement to the gameplay.
In 2024 I hoped we could have more games like Star Citizen with characters, scenarios, missions, planetary and space exploration with alien life and civilizations to interact.
I see nothing of that in a game.
I see some parts of that in various games.
I don’t want to see "classic space games" any more.
I want the next level games.
I mean Starship Commander seems great as an idea.
But it feels empty of real gameplay.
What good is it to travel to the outskirts of cosmos if there is nothing there to find and interact with?
Boring....
Stellar Wanderer seems interesting but it's just a ship fighting.
More classic and overused.
No character to walk around ships, stations, planets and NPCs to talk, fight, have adventures with and more.
BORING......
DISAPPOINTING....
OUTDATED....
Star Citizen's budget is just a bit higher
@@johnlagerquist8227 Budget is not the problem.
A lot of games had a huge budget but didn't deliver.
Look at Starfield.
Look at Elite Dangerous.
Look at No Mans Sky.
And so many other games.
They all had big budgets but they all lack significant things that could make them great games.
Why?
Because they try to hit release dates or they are just lazy and stay to what they do for the last 20 years.
Game industry has to wake up and smell the next gen games we should have at the 2020s.
Was thinking the same thing - most of them look like 15 year old games . The two things i'm looking forward to are Star Wars Outlaws ( not any sort of sim but could be ok ) and Space Engineers next update - Encounters & Exploration . Why can't anyone make a space game that looks like space and not some multi-coloured acid trip these days .
@@cmdrvernondingo1540 I really think Starship Commander can make a difference if they make exploration interesting and meaningful.
With planets that you can land on and alien life with friendly and/or enemy encounters.
But it needs work.
Space Engineers is overcomplicated for me...
But...who knows... maybe it can get it right.
No Man's Sky got something but they missed the opportunity to make it right.
I'm not even going to mention Starfield because it's not a "space" game with this BS arcade space flight.
I think a different form of No Mans Sky with realistic graphics and alien races to interact, better spaceships and norman multiplayer / co-op would be great.
Agree . Starfield was a massive disapointment . Not a space game but Light no Fire looks interesting . Space Engineers needs more game play but it keeps drawing me back
