Correction: Rita’s voice actress Barbara Goodson is still alive. In fact, she’s still doing voice work today. You might be confused with her Japanese actress from Super Sentai series. She passed away years ago.
Barbara’s most recent VA role, that I’m aware of, was as Tifa’s landlord in FF7: Remake.

EDIT: And, to add onto that, the reason she's "Robo-Rita" in that special is because of Countdown to Destruction and what happened to her in that episode. Besides, it's not like it'd be first time they recast Rita if they wanted to give her a more human body. When Rita was re-introduced to MMPR after Zed took her place, she had a "makeover", so someone else could play her. That actress was still dubbed over Barbara Goodson, but she wasn't the sentai actress

Gonna say I was a part of this games community & as someone who is a huge Power Rangers & Super Sentai fan. I love the inclusion of rangers outside of MMPR.
Also Eric is Dan. The Quantum Ranger, whose personality is Vergil BEFORE Vergil. Also RJ is Vergil from the DMC Reboot. We know Adam is Johnny. And Dante/Reuben Langdon was actually in B-Fighter Kabuto as Mac Windy in japan who was then adapted in Beetleborgs as Dragonborg which was ALSO in Reuben Landon.
Wasn't Reuben also in Time Force? As in that one dude that Katie threw out of his car in the 1st/2nd episode?

I really do love how Eric in this game is straight up just Vergil gameplay, they went all in on the similarities and it makes him so much fun to play.
Funniest plothole from power rangers was from a crossover episode were a a monster was kidnapping parents and a little girl told the receptionist: but the receptionist said there was no such things as monsters.

Every good Power Rangers season has an equally better Super Sentai season. Power Rangers Dino Thunder was good, but Bakaryuu Sentai Abaranger is on another level, Power Rangers SPD being another banger season, but Tokosou Sentai Dekaranger is better again, Power Rangers Ninja Storm was also good, but Ninpuu Sentai Hurricanger was better, Power Rangers Turbo was being way too serious, Gekisou Sentai Carranger being more light hearted, Power Rangers Time Force is good, but Mirai Sentai Timeranger is better, Power Rangers In Space being a space epic, concepts taken from Denji Sentai Megaranger which was a great season as well, Power Rangers Super Megaforce was essentially an add-on for Power Rangers Megaforce the year peior where both took most of the stuff from Tensou Sentai Goseiger and Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger respectively and were 20 times better than Power Rangers Megaforce and Power Rangers Super Megaforce, Power Rangers Zeo being amazing, but can not compete with Chouriki Sentai Ohranger, even Mighty Morphin Power Rangers is the OG, but Kyoryuu Sentai Zyuranger is the 16th Super Sentai season that Power Rangers used and also taking the mechas/zords and concepts from the 17th Super Sentai season Gosei Sentai Dairanger for Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Season 2 and for the third season as well as Mighty Morphin Alien Rangers using the 18th Super Sentai season Ninja Sentai Kakuranger for the weapons and abilities. I can go on and on for days about it.

Scorpina was a recurring villain in MMPR season 1 and 2, first debuting in Green with Evil Part 3. Her last physical appearance was in season 2's Goldar's Vice-Versa. She was used in archived footage in The Good, The Bad and the Stupid and the Power Rangers Netflix special, Once & Always. Her fate was revealed in the Boom comic book, Power Rangers: Soul of the Dragon, where Rita betrays her and is banished to the Talos Dimension, where she avoids the Z-Wave and canonically becomes the last Power Rangers villain.
Also, I didn't remember Scorpina until I binged all the episodes and the movies last year so.....yeah.
Wow, Scorpina had a completely different fate in the Japanese sentai. At the end of Zyurangers, she and Goldar had a baby. So even though they, along with Rita and her other minions, are resealed in the capsule, they all enjoy their time together over the new born baby. (It's worth pointing out that Rita in the Japanese version attached earth because she lost her son. Now she has a baby to entertain.)

Explanation for Serpentera and its lack of battery power.
In Dairanger, Serpentera was actually called Daijinryuu and it was not used as a means of evil. It was actually meant to purge the world if it senses too much strife amongst the two warring tribes, the Dai and Goma tribes. In the end, its purposes was balance by any means necessary.
Zyuranger (the source of the original Power Rangers) has the concept of the team consisting of five warriors from the era of the dinosaurs frozen in time and would be released if the witch, Bandora (Rita's name in that version), is released from her jar prison.
Poisondra is from Dino Charge. I didn't watch Dino Fury or the sentai version, Kyoryuger. But, I do recognize the costume from the Kyoryuger's opening. Candelilla is the character's name in Kyoryuger.

My first exposure to Power Rangers was Lost Galaxy and Lightspeed Rescue, and I REALLY got into it during the Disney Era. For me, the appeal of Power Rangers was how fresh each season was. Every year had its own cast, motifs, and self-contained story with a beginning, middle and end, a formula Sentai keeps using to this day. There's always another surprise around the corner. The more things on the American side harken back to Mighty Morphin era and nostalgia and continuity, I actually get LESS interested. It's just a case of Power Rangers being different things for different people, really.
I remember the Lost Galaxy season being ran on the CW during the mid 2010s. It's sort of bizarre that programmers of the former Vortexx would pick a series of Power Rangers that old.
Eh, the nostalgia pandering can get overdone, but I appreciate what they did in Dino/Cosmic Fury and Once & Always because it actually genuinely had proper continuity and built off plot points from previous seasons. Being completely standalone is fine in Sentai since each show is, more or less, in its own universe, but Power Rangers (aside from RPM and Dino Charge) is in one big shared universe, so it makes no sense that we have 30 different Ranger teams running around and NOTHING from previous seasons get brought up at all, aside from the crossovers.

Personally, I liked that movie. I thought it was going to be some edgelord shit, but the characters were fleshed out, and the aesthetic struck a balance between realistic and colorful.
That Lord Zedd special move is hilarious, he sits on his throne puts a thumbs down while the putties do the work for him.
The scene Elliott is talking about in 22:00 if from Akibaranger which is a more adult comedy Super Sentai. It's funny as hell y'all should watch.
It's also not part of the Super Sentai continuity, even though it's made by Toei as well.
That is from the unofficial Super Sentai season Hikonin Sentai Akibaranger which is like a bootleg Sentai series that had 2 seasons which came in between Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger and Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters.

A lot of the 'Morphed footage' for season 1 of MMPR was actually original footage made by the Japanese studio that was made just for MMPR. Fans call it Zyu2 footage.

The original Sentai footage Toei commissioned for Mighty Morphin Power Rangers (dubbed Zyu2) was actually for the additional 20 episodes ordered for Season 1 of MMPR.

Also my experience with the Power Rangers... I started with Mighty Morphin' until I dropped it during the Ninja Rangers arc, hopped in and out on Zeo, gave Turbo "The Look" and walked away, never giving In Space, Lost Galaxy, Lightspeed Rescue, and Time Force a chance... Then came back and stayed for Wild Force, Ninja Storm, Dino Thunder, and SPD... Hopped in and out for Mystic Force, Operation Overdrive and RPM... Then everything beyond that is all "The Look" and walk away(although I did hop in and out on Jungle Fury).
I don't think it's going to get touched on, but the Jungle Fury Wolf Rangers actor was Vergil in DMC: Devil May Cry

I love these guys....but them asking "Where's Vergil? I wanna play him!" with Johnny misremembering he is a GOLD ranger and then Elliot claming he ain't on the roster is one hugest pieces of cringe I have ever experinced from these guys. Like bloody hell...so early in the video it was a struggle to even continue after THAT.
Also...Rita's VA had NOT passed away, Barbara Goodson is still alive. You're probably thinking of Rita's live action actress from the Sentai series, Machiko Soga. She died back in 2006.

Tommy has had five different powers in his life: MMPR Green, MMPR White, Zeo Red, Turbo Red, and Dino Thunder Black. A few years ago they actually invented the Master Morpher for him to freely switch between the powers, which he first used in the show in the Super Ninja Steel episode "Dimensions in Danger."
As for this game specifically, this game is one of the prime examples of "wringing out money via DLC." The game initially launched with NINE characters. For a 3v3 fighter. While three more were added with a free update, the remaining fighters were put in via five different DLC packs (four for the Rangers, one for Ryu and Chun-Li).
The Street Fighter characters were actually an extension of a crossover with the mobile game Power Rangers: Legacy War. In the mobile game, Ryu, Chun-Li, Bison, Cammy, Ken, and Akuma appeared, though only Ryu and Chun-Li actually got Ranger forms. Everyone else was in their default SF2 outfits using their SFV models. Hasbro eventually did make Ranger forms for Cammy & Ken in the Lightning Collection, but they never were brought into the games.
As for Sentai vs. Original footage, Season 1 DID have original morphed footage, but they were mostly only the Rangers standing still or in the Command Center. The only fight scene was in the "Return of the Green Ranger" 2-parter. In Season 2, Saban kept the original suits while Japan switched out for Dairanger, so after a handful of episodes reusing leftover stock footage, every ground fight scene was original for Power Rangers until late in Season 3 when the Alien/Aquitian Rangers came around. From Zeo onwards, it's always been a mix of stock and original footage, with it being obvious in the pre-Wild Force seasons due to how bright the original footage.
Also, just to note, the show moved filming locations. After Wild Force, they moved from California to New Zealand, where they continued filming until the final season Cosmic Fury last year.

I'm aware of it enough to know Saban was about to sue the creators of it when those devs only credited Sentai in its creation as if Saban literally owns Sentai, so now the game had to force a "Inspired by Saban's Power Rangers" in the title screen so he shut the hell up.

Not just Power Rangers but the Tokusatsu genre (Sentai, Kamen Rider, Ultra, etc.) as a whole has become one of my favorite things as of late and it's been a real escape in down times. Glad the peeps at Shout Factory and Discotek are bringing them to the west for more to experience
My experience with Power Rangers is abundance in my childhood. The first time I saw anything PR was the Mighty Morphing and Turbo Power Rangers movies but I never saw their respective shows but in terms of the TV series I watched it religiously in the 2000s'. I saw Wild Force, Ninja Storm, Dino Thunder, SPD (my favorite), and a little bit of Mystic Force. The last PR show I watched constantly was Samurai but then just stopped afterwards. I remember watching those shows with my big brother and having pretty fond memories. I even saw the 2017 Power Rangers movie. It was ok with great moments here and there. 🍩
I always knew about this game's existence even seeing Ryu and Chun Li being in it as guest fighters but I never took the time to actually see the gameplay but now seeing it in this video I legit wanna get it for myself cause it looks hype AF.
So I do know Barbara Goodson is still alive, but she didn't voice Rita in this. Instead they got another well known Anime actress, Carrie Keranen.
I find it baffling that there's no Ninja Storm nor Dino Thunder representation. They were very great seasons that are basically 2nd and 3rd to MMPR's popularity. Both seasons kicked off the Disney era into high gear and was very influential to the series as a whole. Even though S.P.D. is my personal favorite, and I love that Kat and Commander Cruger are in. It's unfortunate that the seasons that set a new standard way after MMPR, doesn't get any acknowledgment.
Power Rangers is one of those franchises where, in another time, I could've been a fan had the stars align.
That said, I did enjoy when they crossed over with my Man, Godzilla.
I tried to get into PR. But I just got so bored by it. I don't know if it has to do with animation at the time or just how many PR they are, I just couldn't get into them.

Johnny giving a try to Kamen Rider W is something I wasn't expecting, but I'm glad. Shotaro and Phillip are great characters.
Also, the episode Elliot mentioned about the Sentai meeting the Power Rangers comes from an official "unofficial" parody where the Sentai are idiots trying to bwcome official Sentai, and the "Powerful Rangers" are dick versions of the Zyuranger characters.
Scorpina was in the first season, she was a semi-regular presence. When she became giant she transformed into a humanoid scorpion monster.
It's such a shame this game is no longer being supported, I'd love for Beast Morphers and Dino/Cosmic Fury to get represented in this game.
Ranger slayer makes me think of Yukari Takeba, specifically in p4au (which is fitting, considering the Phoenix Feathermen was a Sentai series in the Persona universe). The only thing missing was the wind powers.
My first experience with Power Rangers was probably seeing it on TV when I was probably really young and didn't remember much about it. I also remember seeing the Turbo movie in pre-school and the one thing I remembered about it was the Blue Ranger being a kid.
It's actually pretty easy to tell what's original footage and what's reused Super Sentai footage in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. The suits noticeably don't fit the American actors as well, so anytime the suits are baggy, it's original footage. It's espionage obvious with Trini because in Super Sentai, the yellow ranger was a guy, which is why the pink suit has a skirt and yellow doesn't. Another obvious tell is the green ranger. In Super Sentai, the green ranger's shoulder pads were either damaged or weren't sent (I've seen both claims and am uncertain which correct), so the power rangers team created this really cheap looking foam substitute. So, if the green ranger is wearing the good-looking hard rubber shoulder pads, it's Super Sentai footage. If the green ranger is wearing the cheap foam shoulder pads, it's original footage.
I really wish we'd get a Power Ranger with wholly original footage and a budget.
I watched up through most of In Space and was that kid in my class who got made fun of for still watching Power Rangers. I've seen bits of Dino Thunder and I think the end of Super Mega Force. And I watched the TTRPG show Hyper Force. I keep telling myself I'm eventually gonna watch the others. As for the ones I've rewatched as an adult, I've made it partway through Zeo. Once I got past Mighty Morphin nostalgia, it got harder to binge very much of it in a row.
I haven't played this game, as I don't really have any I would play it with, but I do enjoy the Boom comics. They really expand on some of the concepts that the series generally gives surface level attention to. It was cool to see so many comic cameos in this.

So from what I remember, this game is now unsupported because the publisher wanted them to put microtransactions in, the devs said fuck that, and the game got shut down. It's unfortunate, but i'm glad they went out on their own terms.

Too bad Wes from Time Force is not in this game. He's one of my favorite red rangers. Well, at least we still got Eric and Jen in this game, so at least I'm still happy about that, since I love Time Force. It's a shame that she's not voice by her actual actor.
MMPR seasons 2 and 3 only used Sentai footage for the Zords. All three non-giant villain footage (infusing Rita) was original as were the ground fight 😮footage. Though they began to weave Sentai ground footage back in, first with some of the White Ranger scenes (when on his own away from the team) them the ninja suit fights and finally the Alien Rangers. The reason ditched Mighty Morphin' in the first place and went to Zeo was so they could save money and go back to using Sentai footage for most things outside unmorphed scenes.

With this recent streak of fighting game Smackdown Sundays, I'd legit suggest trying the Sailor Moon S SNES fighting game. No joke, it's the first fighting game made by Arc System Works and, most importantly, it's outrageously broken and unbalanced. It even has a competitive scene. If the boys get to know the controls, combos, etc, it should be a very chaotic and fun time.

I LOVED this game, there are videos on my old UA-cam channel of combos i did for this game. It's a crazy game when you watch pros play it, but go online and you'll wipe the floor with most players if you at the very least know what you're doing. I had 2 teams. One was Dai Shi, Lord Drakkon, and i forgot the third member. The second team which is still my main team is Eric Myers, Chun-li, and Lord Drakkon. I chose those characters because if i had 3 bars, i could do a ToD with Eric Myers, and the other 2 characters make great assists
Oh man, this game has been on my radar for awhile, but I've just never gotten around to it. As for first experience with Power Rangers, I jumped in at the beginning with Mighty Morphin', but I tapped out after Turbo, not long after the Turbo movie. I have seen a few things from the comics lately though.

A few things I wanna clarify, though: She didn't accidentally create Venjix, she did so intentionally (either at Alphabet Soup's request or on her own), released the virus into Alphabet Soup's network and they stopped her before she could install a firewall that would prevent Venjix from escaping to the outside world.

I have little to no experience with Power Rangers and I only got this game solely for Dan Southworth's character of Eric Myers (Quantum Ranger) which is funny because even his reveal trailer has a handful of Vergil references like "Foolishness Lord Zed" "I need more quantum power", one of his call in quotes is "I'm motivated" and his character in the show badly summarized is about a guy in blue a bit jealous of the guy in red and seeks a higher form of power.
Anubis Cruger's name is even funnier because in his first moprh scene and battle in the show specifically the JP version he does refer himself as the Guard Dog of Hell
For me, if i remember correctly, i was first introduced thanks to the Turbo movie and MMPR movie. I'm 25 now, so i was a child back then. But what got me into Power Rangers as a whole was Dino Thunder, then moved forward to SPD, then stopped at Mystic Force. But as i grew up, i kept a close eye on the franchise. Seeing no Dino Thunder representation is very disappointing since it's my all-time favorite favorite in the franchise.
My experience with Power Rangers is with not only the TV series, but I also own the three Power Rangers movies in my collection.

i started power rangers on fox kids(basically most of the time watching it at the end to get to digimon but really enjoyed it quickly for rita especially retroactively finding out she was voiced by laharl from disgaea.) & started watching fully at s.p.d/the movie(completely for ivan ooze being"what if freddy kreuger was in power rangers".) and a few other early series.

My journey with the series is that I've seen every iteration from Mighty Morphin' through Time Force and that's really where the bulk of my knowledge stops. I was the right age for the teams that followed Mighty Morphin' and Zeo. In terms of Sentai that I've watched, Timeranger (Time Force) remains my favorite. In terms of Power Rangers, I have a soft spot in my heart for the second half of Turbo (it was a better series when it allowed itself to get goofy and silly with it) and Lost Galaxy remains a favorite for me. I re-watched Lightspeed Rescue for the first time in years a few months ago and it ended up being a series I really enjoyed. I've never read the comics, but I've heard good things about them and feel like I should give them a shot sometime!
I just recently found out that there's an arcade-style Power Rangers beat-em-up called Rita's Rewind that's coming out later this year. It looks like it's gonna try doing what Shredder's Revenge did for the TMNT. I think it looks pretty good and this was a fun surprise to see since I had that on the brain.

Power Rangers. Basically was a *HUGE* part of my childhood and the thing that made me the Henshin Hero loving man he is today! Haven't watched a PR show since Samurai (Which I still liked despite its problems...) and ditto for Sentai with Kyoryuger since Kamen Rider has taken over my life.
Yeah I would definitely be down for a round 2 of this game once you guys get more familiar with it, because this game is really good once you get deep into it. Also sucks there's no Dino Thunder representation in this game

I started with Dino Thunder and by the time SPD came around I was already growing out of it. I can still watch Dino Thunder thought, the power of nostalgia, but when I tried to check some of the other ones I got a little second hand embarrassment.

Being fair about the Quantum ranger who is virgil. In series the Quantum ranger is another Red ranger but with black accents and a slightly different visor. it still throws me off at a glance to this day.
