One thing the government is right about in a crisis. Staying put for as long as you can is the best option available to you especially if you already live in a rural location. Being in your own home allows you to store more supplies both in and around your home. My goal is to one day purchase a isolated property with readily available natural resources creeks, ponds, timber, game, and most of all space. I personally wouldn't construct one large bunker to live in but rather build several small spider holes to store extra food and supplies on and around my property. Though if I had the money I certainly would build an underground bunker for certain.
Firs thank you for saying so. Really in a shtf scenario it's the clever boys who think ahead that will survive. When people loot bladed weapons from hardware stores you notice that they leave all the sharpeners behind.
Farming an animal which gives back, like chickens or cows would be essential, I believe. I already have chickens and live right on the edge of a forest with a neighbouring village. I'd say Im already in a good place, come the apocalypse.
RadicalGrape - Having livestock definitely provides an edge if mainstream supplies were to be interrupted. Those with the skills to cultivate produce and livestock will become all the more valuable in a SHTF scenario.
The clock and time distortion. Isolation and insanity. Living in the past, literally in the "persistence of memory" because the present is too horrible to contemplate and the future too bleak and short to welcome. A fascinating prop placement and a fascinating story. The clock itself tells the story as easily as it might have told the time, had it not melted. Very clever. And the title "Shelter". Her shelter was not a physical one but the metaphysical shelter and protection of insanity. A very good movie.
Thank you for the awesome feedback; we had to work with the assets we had for the fight sequence, and didn't really have time in the cut to focus on it, so just went for a quick fix option; it's relevance is more in what it says about Mike than the literal content of it. Having said that; we've got a huge action short going through post-production currently, so be sure to check that out when it lands. As I said though, thank you for the amazing feedback; it means a lot :)
Wow,that was amazing. Especially the ending, how did you guys did that? But besides my question it is one of the best post apocalyptic movies I've seen on this platform. 👍
mate, brilliant. Couple of things (not counting the ending) that were quite different and, I think, really well done. You've taken a theme that's been done millions of times and you made it your won. I loved it.
How did you manage to scout the locations for this one? Finding a field that looks like an industrial wasteland would be relatively easy, but that fallout shelter was a find. Personally, If I knew that a nuclear war was imminent, I wouldn't want to live through it
Compliments! That's amazing! I'm opening a website abou shortfilms and that kind of stuff, would you like to publish something in there? I would link the videos directly to UA-cam :D
Hi! Thank you ever so much for the kind feedback, we're really glad you liked it! That sounds great! Thank you, we'd love to publish more content on there. We'll be in touch :D
VERY good job man, most post apocalyptic shorts fall flat and reveal themeselves to be mediocre within the first minute. I don't even have to go down the list of things you did great cause you know already. Do you play fallout? :)
Great work, why do you have so few subscribers? Well, now you have one more. ;-) I think you could improve the sound. In some passages it was very clean, meaning without any ambient noises and without echo. And there are some small flaws in the plot. At the beginning he fell right beside a baton, that was cheap ;-). In the end it seamed a little unlike that she would beat him, having him the first swing. Whatever, nice ending nevertheless!
If you tuned up and stayed off the rails they'd be getting about where you have too know to encode these things beyond think so that mink can't just simply pick yer mind skit so pink until you red and blue ,compute? I love Nuckear Power ,it gets you through yer daze, no look gaze of daisy chains on grass ,Raven bolts the latch too sheep herd yer in those Parks?
I agreed with the last post and then realised that I'd begun watching this boring crap and that the last post was mine. Got a laugh from that one I can tell you.
Bravo!!! Glad the nutty lady won. The guy looked was an SOB.
For a minute I was about to be really depressed, but then it shows the lady putting the pipe down. YAY!
Yeah me tooooo! 😂😂😂
Excellent cinematography. Good plot and acting. Well Done!
Thank you! Really glad you enjoyed it
Don't mess with an insane woman and her doll.
Chilling. I genuinely felt heart broken for that women. Excellent cinematography, and acting as well.
Many thanks, I'll pass your comments on to the cast
going mad from loneliness , good small shelter topic , good plot , good lesson teaching .

Kris Clay i totally agree with you. good to know that someone like me is planning ahead as well!.
Thanks for saying so. Most people think i'm just paranoid. But I believe in the saying "Better to prepare and prevent, Than repair and repent."

Good film. A little dark, but real. Great acting, which is often lacking in these type of films. Well done. :)
Very well done, especially at
the end. Your saying "no don't
open the door " good job.
Excellent film, I loved the twist at the end.
Very well made short, tense and entertaining! Great cast too.

How did she take him out? She wasn't armed. What made that terrible wound? And what was that red meat in the close-up?
Oh dear...
@@tbfilms3351 Did I miss a foreshadowing in the film?

WeirdCan the ending was shit. seriously.
I’ve watched to 1:13. How very manly this opening scene is! I found it phenomenally stereotypical!!
howd she kill him??
what lenses did you use
Joseph Mingo Lenses where Samyang Primes, mostly 24 and 35mm :)
woaaahh
it had to be one of them, besides, the future was looking kind of bleak for them both.
Screw a long arse time in some shelter, I'm get out there and see whats up with swinging axes
end of the world...better grab that locket. wtf?
This isn't post apocalyptic, this is just normal UK during the Thatcherite era
josh waring Yes...up north, this kind of industrial dereliction and animalistic behaviour is normal....
she listens to old ragtime in the shelter? really?
Is it impossible to make a post apocalypse film without welder's goggles and neck scarves?
The lady got some fresh meat for the table

Jess Gatt Oh I bet you did
Thought this would be usa made? wrong!
If it were, they all would have shot each other straight away
Great settings, costumes and action.
although the woman was wearing a bra. FAIL!!!
Yet another "post apocalypse" film where everything it too clean and it far too decent repair.
Ugh...
Ima Pseudonym Good spot! We'll be sure to inform the local council that their industrially polluted toxic factory complex is too clean...
