    I had a pretty bad pop up mark on my new Callaway Maverick that I recently purchased over the summer. It was my first real golf club purchase so it really hurt to see that on there. I used this simple method and the mark came out easily after about 3 minutes of rubbing the toothpaste on there. Thanks for the help!

    THANK YOU!! This worked brilliantly! My wife, who isn’t a golfer, tried out my TSi3 at the weekend and put a massive sky mark on the toe! I tried this last night and it really worked! Thank you for sharing such a cool trick!

      Oh my…TSi3 drivers and wives don’t mix. If we are at Top Golf, and my wife wants to try my driver I put 2 layers of blue painters tape on the crown - just in case.
      She got mad the first time until she roofed a shot and saw why I did that.
      If your TSi is banged up from that, send the head to Continental Golf. Their refinish work is top notch. I sent a Taylor Made driver to them and it looked better than new when I got it back. 😀👍🏻

    Thanks for this totally worked on my TM M2 Driver after letting a relative have a go at the driving range. I was particularly gutted because it has a deep sentimental value to me (got it from my favourite uncle who just recently passed). Thought it was cracked and would eventually break in time. I had a bad experience just this past season with a brand new driver. I took advantage of 'end of season sales' at an online golf place and bought a beautiful Cobra F-Max Airspeed driver. Sure enough on one of my first 3 or 4 rounds I popped one up and was shocked to see that not only did it leave a scratch but worse, the paint CHIPPED!!! I even went as far as contacting Cobra because I thought it really shouldn't have happened but I didn't get anywhere so I ended up being so sick of looking at it that I used a paint marker to touch it up. Possibly the worst thing about being a not good golfer is being hard on the equipment lol.

    Toothpaste can be a bit gritty and leave swirls on a gloss black head - especially visible in the outdoor sun. I have found that Meguiars Scratch X 2.0 is a nice alternative. I’ve also used a beige/white foam pad on my drill (medium speed to avoid burning the paint) to remove swirls on dark colors with the Scratch X 2.0.
    Here’s a few things that I do to help minimize crown damage from a pop up (not completely eliminate, just minimize)
    - I wax the crown of my driver (gloss finish works best, but a little ultimate paste can also be applied sparingly to a matte finish with a finger. It doesn’t whiten like other waxes and the finish is still 95% matte) by applying Meguiars Ultimate Paste wax with my finger to the crown. It helps to make the surface slick and less likely for the ball to grip the surface. I wax my driver head after every round.
    - I make sure to clean my golf ball EVERY TIME before teeing it up. Dirty balls leave marks. If I am at the range, I wipe the ball with my damp towel before I tee it up.
    - I double check my tee height and play it forward to avoid hitting under the ball to begin with.
    - mist importantly NEVER, NEVER 👎🏻 let a buddy hit your driver unless they are a low hdcp player. A buddy of mine saw I had a new custom Rogue Max LS driver and asked me if he could hit it. It also has a matte finish on the head. I declined and he asked our other buddy if he could try his new Stealth 2 driver. That buddy let him and…he roofed it. Also with a dirty ball. Our mutual friend was pretty upset and the buddy who roofed the shot just said, “oops…sorry”.
    - if you MUST let a friend hit your driver, keep thicker painters tape in your bag and use 2 layers on the crown if you are loaning your club to be hit.

    a different subject-but if you put a TT s300 xp 115 gram 6 iron shaft into a 7 iron- does that change it to a regular flex, or somewhere in between....or what exactly will it do to the performance of the club..

    • @EFGMC
      @EFGMC  3 роки тому +1

      Soft stepping as you are referring to will give you a little more launch height and spin and also results in a slightly lighter weight result. Flex won't change enough to consider it R now, but will be slightly softer. Most golfers probably won't even notice a difference from 1 step soft or hard (going 8 iron shaft into 7 iron).

    What do you do with a mat black finish? I just got a new Ping G425 driver and while at the range I put the club back in my bag with the head cover off as I was mid session. Well I had one of my alignment sticks in there and it put a light scratch across the head from about midway out towards the toe. It is slightly visible after wiping it off with my wet towel. With the mat black finish, is there anything I can do that can work that scratch out without sanding the entire top of the club? I was thinking of using a brown paper bag as a buffing process. I don't have a buffing wheel. Any advise would be greatly apricated.

      The face is a different animal because it does not have a clear coat on it or paint. It's a different finish. If it has a shinny finish you can use a scotch bright pad or belt and see if you can get some of those small sand marks off it. If the face has a dark finish, not sure how much you can do with it.
