I made it to 2:55 minutes. Many problems are user error. First, stretch out that cable to the antenna. A coil will cause problems. Then get that magnetic antenna onto some metal. It will help with a ground plane. Once that is done, there is an adjustment built into the Cobra 29LX series. Move it to 'calibrate' and then make the correction on channels 1, 20, and 40. It is not a wonderful electronic antenna tuner but it does work for THAT transceiver within reason. If it reads warning on 1 but not on 20 and 40, it means your antenna is too short. Very common as this is High Frequency (HF) and people using cheap antennas can expect bad readings. Before anyone opens their unit to make corrections, put it on a Standing Wave Ratio (SWR) meter. You can buy them on the net for about $35. I hear a lot of splatter boxes out there in CB radio land. Do things the old school way. I don't think 95% + of the people can beat the factory settings.

true about factory settings. my last 2 new radios had no peak and tune. they talk well. get compliments on how well it sounds......factory settings wins. matched the radio to my antenna is all I did. Talk all over the place.
A tip if your SWRS are 1.1 to 1.5 and still getting the antenna warning try turning down your mic gain it will stop the warning it only goes red when over modulation takes place
mine seems to do it when my linear is on high power once i put it in medium it stopped. it did stop when i turned down my mic gain on high. i am using a cobra power mic also so if i turn down the mic gain will it really effect how i sound out there. it started when i switched from a 102" whip to the 5' firestik fiberglass antenna i may just go back to the whip to get a little more rx out of the radio and a little more tx.
Who'd have thunk it. Tuning an antenna at the swr pickup inside the radio. I think I'm going to tune all my antennas that way. Better yet I can tune all my antennas at one time as long as I make the same adjustment on my external SWR meter. Why didn't I think of this earlier.
