Taylor talked about this song in a presentation she gave when she was campaigning for the Grammys. I think she wanted a bit of an off kilter drum beat, since she told one of her producers that she wanted this to be the song where if it would play at a wedding, the shy girl's friends would tell her "come on, you have to at least dance to this song!", so it's like that song that the awkward girl could dance to without having to dance in sync with whatever the other people are doing and just do her own thing? Anyways, it seems like it was Johan Schuster (aka Shellback) who was the one who came up with the beat, he was a drummer in indie rock and death metal bands before becoming a pop producer.
This is just awesome. Everything explained very slowly. You count in when playing the tune to get people to play along. Then you increase the speed so everyone can get faster until original speed. Also you seem like a really nice dude. Just a brilliant tutorial. Thanks for that. Cheers, mate!
Yo mike, great vid as always. I know you’ve done an improv lesson for trinity grade 4 but could you possibly make a vid on improvisation in general? Thanks again ❤️
Hi man, yes lots more on this coming up - stay tuned. A good place to start would be my course about creating your own drum fills! - ua-cam.com/play/PLcfoni8UPb9opFnGubPIthJTQm5jKFrVU.html
There are a lot of good drummers on UA-cam. But for my money your tutorials are easily the best 🙏
Cheers!
