The future of gaming is definitely a interesting topic to discuss. Unfortunately Sony and Nintendo are the most stubborn to embrace change unlike Microsoft/Xbox. They seem to always look ahead but sometimes it tends to backfire even though I like it in a sense. I as well see Xbox being the one's to lead the charge. But we shall see
I think a Game Mode verision of Windows is the best option for low-income households requiring an affordable Console. The Gaming Enthusiasts can build their own Gaming PC Console with the option to use the standard Windows OS or Windows Game Mode.
I've been really enjoying hearing your thoughts on fonz podcast about gamepass and it's future... now I want to know what you think of shin megami tensai for the Xbox.. I own the original on switch, do you think I should purchase again?
Since MacOS is based on BSD and PS is based on FreeBSD, and both like to be premium, maybe PS aligns themselves with Apple. I can also see Nintendo aligning with Google, either with Chromebook or Android.
Haweii have new operating system that is not Android or Linux thanks to western countries trade sanctions on China high Tech. Chinese hipmakers have new chips that have nothing in common with Intel, AMD, Arm, or Nvidia.
PC is not a unified platform. Games made for PC is made for a range of hardware. That range means that the performance of that game is wildly different across the range of hardware. The benefit of a console is games are able to made optimized for the specific hardware which gives a universal performance across all hardware for that console. There is no way to optimize games for PC unless all PC's leverage the same hardware. The problem of the modern PC audience is that we try to pretend that all PC users are equal and the truth is we know that is not the case. Subsequently people on weaker hardware end up with performance substantially worse than the current consoles. Its ironic because it seems wild that PC gamers seem to think that PC owners would never become console gamers but seem to think console gamers who won't pay 500.00 dollars for a console will just willingly buy a 1000.00+ PC. That is the hubris of the PC community, PC hardcore owners think that PC gamers will never go to console...but the possiblity of 1 platform is just as viable to be 1 console as it is to be one hardware profile PC...perhaps moreso for 1 console since from a development standpoint it means that instead of having to make multiple version of the game for other consoles and multiple configurations of hardware on PC....a 1 unified platform approach would be a console....not a PC.
If NINTENDO were to increase the power of their system NO other console would be relevant, you said it yourself players still go back to Nintendo for Mario, Zelda, Mario Kart, Metroid etc... so honestly ask yourself if I could play call of duty at the same Fidelity as I can on my new Xbox or PlayStation what I need it or would I just stay with Nintendo..?

I definitely want this
You said the system now or on a x86 architect what's the next step up and what if that's what Sarah bond is talking about the next leap

I think eventually it will sadly be mobile.
