- Johto Tour was A LOT. There were A LOT of shiny Pokémon, A LOT of research, A LOT of raid passes spent, A LOT to keep track of. But despite all that, I had a great time and for once actually had some luck on some of the rarest Pokémon during the event.

I hunted and two hours before the event ends. I try to finish the evolving pokemon challenge and we'll I can't evolve espeon in the afternoon. That's freaking dumb as fuck. Sorry for cursing but cmon.

I loved the event, but there were too many stuff to do, between collection challenges, special research, battle research, catches, raids and shinies hunting... I managed to complete all the researches, and did my 9+ in-person raids but only got 3 shinies (the first one was at 8:40PM).
I got a 44 CP Raikou in the wild yesterday. I love it 😂
It was not as fun for me as Kanto Tour. There was so much to do, which was nice, but also overwhelming, and I forgot to evolve the espeon during the day because of it - Couldn't finish the evolution challenge because of it; I caught 7 shines over 7hrs of play, but my girlfriend got 20+, so I feel I was on the low end of shiny counts. The Legendary cats being wild was pretty cool; my free celebi and shiny Gyarados were 2stars, which sucked - Bad luck through the whole event really.

Not as good as Kanto imo but I also had very bad luck it was fun to get out with friends but 12 hours of grinding for one new shiny Pokemon hurts.

The Johto tour was great but it should have been over 2 days. It was way too much to do in one day if you have a life outside Pogo. be
I actually stopped enjoying it and started to get stressed because i was no way near completing my research.
I had to take a break and then admitted defeat.
In my opinion, Johto Tour would’ve been better if it was split into 2 or maybe 3 days. The event was really stressful for me because of how short it was. I missed out on a lot of research and other encounters since I can’t play 12 hours in 1 day. Hell my phone would die before them. But if it was split into a longer period of time, it would have been a lot more fun.

This event was meh because it should’ve realistically been a 2-day event. Esp for $11.99
The fomo was real with this one because there was so much packed into one day, where we in the past had two days to do this. It was a lot and the shiny spawn rate seemed really really low compared to other events.

I had a fun time but they should have done it in 2 days like the Kanto Tour was. Getting all of the research, raids, shiny checks was too overwhelming for a 1 day event.
I was really excited about this event. It turned into stress with all these things to complete. I even missed out on evolving Espeon during daytime becuase I somehow decided to deal with evolving pokemon later so I could'nt compete all challenges. The battle challenges spawns was really strange and I could'nt complete that either. I went all in with my money and had some fun on raids but over all, I was sad, mad and frustrated about the stress and the things I missed to complete. >:I
I had that problem too about Espeon. I had the time for it but completely forgot about the day time evolution. I had already used the name trick too in the past :-(.

The ability to catch the shiny legendries in the wild makes sense now. I caught two shiny Entei in the wild. Overall the Tour was ok, but I agree with others that it should've at least went across the weekend instead of the short time it was active.
Bruh I had ten legendary beast encounters in the wild and didn't get any shinies (nor from the three research encounters, nor from a few raids 😦)

It was a 12 hour event what more would you need. Of course we would all of loved more time but what we had was plenty
@@xpoppotubex Except a 2nd day was advertised but it only existed in certain locations irl and last year was 2 days with the 2nd focusing on Go Rocket with a mix of the mons. We paid the same amount as last year for less content

Same. In Kanto I had around 30 shinies, all new to me at the time. Johto got 1 ‘new to me’ shiny and 2 others I’d had loads of already 🙄 Gyarados was a bust and got deleted as I have better ones than research gave me (I was disgusted with it actually. It’s the main reason I haven’t caught my ‘waiting to be caught’ apex Ho-oh... the IVs will be 🤬

That's dope. I also was pretty shocked and stoked when it appeared shiny for me and my girl. .but ngl I got 3 shiny giraffes lol.. so I have some pretty good leverage to trading hahahahhaha. Lol. Facts tho .. I also got a shlundo seismetoad from a lucky trade my 3rd Shlundo. Let's go. . Who else got a shlundo this week end. I'll wait ......
While I had fun with friends during the tour and got a decent amount of shiny mons, so I can’t complain in that regard as others have and rightfully so, the research and raid shiny rates was abysmal. Not to mention Unown for our group seemed very scarce. To have paid for a ticketed event and have a featured mon be raid locked and have base 1/450-1/500 odds is unacceptable. I don’t expect CD shiny odds at all, but something at least better than base odds since many people paid for the event.
It's not just the odds for me, it's lack of clarity on them. If Niantic wants to offer base odds, fine, but I wouldn't have spent 30 passes on corsola if I'd known. Also, I didn't finish the Celebi quest on Saturday because my buddy wouldn't earn candy for some glitchy reason. Finished it on Sunday and received a Celebi without Magical Leaf. =/ A longer window on quests and evolutions would have taken some pressure off.
Base rates were definitely boosted, but not to CD levels.

@@ronifeldman3384 I didn't get to evolve my eevvee into espeon as I tried to finish the challenge late due to hunting . It was in the afternoon when I tried to finish the task. Yea smart move Niantic.
I got 4 shinies playing from 9am - 6pm in San Diego

I loved the Johto Tour but to be honest as fun as it was the research bit was too overwhelming for me and many other players in my community. I faced a small glitch where the NPC research stopped after the second stage less than an hour into the event and I was informed by my friends that we could turn off the NPCs IF we completed that research. I had to restart the game and it took so long to complete those challenges that I had no time for evolutions. 21:26 I know I don't need to do all the stuff but when I am paying ₹ 1,050, which is ₹150 over the price paid by players in the USA, I expect to have fun and get all the resources (via raids/collection challenge/research) that I already PAID FOR. But it was a fun event none the less with way less problems than I expected.

This really should've been a two day event or WAY fewer disjointed, clunky tasks. They said you can "play anywhere" but then late in the evening there were tasks to complete five field research! So much time wasted on nonsense taken away from shiny checking. It just wasn't enjoyable, by midday it was a tedious grind and didn't get any better for the next nine hours!
I caught a 134 cp, 0% Entei. Is it more rare than that? 😂

I heard Corsola was about a 127/47k shiny rate? Which is the biggest problem I had with this event. The sheer amount of people that didn't get one despite how many raids and money they put in with that huge of a disappointment is really discouraging and a huge let down to the whole player base.
I managed in 25 raids to pull to corsola
I did 0.0 Corsola raids. Only did legendaries and got 0.0 shinies. But I got like 82 regular shinies

@@rogso6581 I managed 54 shinies, so same. just was a huge let down on the tyrougue and corsola. It's like they released them to the lowest percentage, just to say all johto are shiny, but really wanted to save them to money grab them.
Yeah like fr I deff had some luck on that, and fr I will actually complain on the eggs not one shiny hatch and I hatched a lot of eggs like I'm not bs when I say I bought multiple sets of incubators and in addition I came into it stacked with them and burned thru them all I have like 5 left I'll reply again if any of them 5 happen to be shiny lmfao
I feel like they should've made it a two day event one day for catching and the following for raids like they did go fest last year. But I think celib should still have magical leaf even if you didn't complete it during the event
IMO, the Johto tour could have been a lot better. The amount of tasks at hand seemed like way too much and I didn't get to finish it :(
I did enjoy the Johto tour but it was too much to cram into one day. I think two 6 hour days would work better. I finished most of the collections but couldn’t get around to do those 15 trainers I was supposed to battle at PokéStops. There are only 10 PokéStops in my park which I think is a goodly amount but I guess not enough for all those trainers to appear. Next time make it 4trainers. That’s enough
I wish Niantic took the way WAY better approach to the hourly challenges (catch/whatever) by only showing the challenge for that hour when that hour starts. That or at least keep them on the screen/page after they've been rolled out one by one after each hour. Would make that first page way less intimidating + overwhelming. The challenges weren't hard by themselves, but when they were all in your face at the start...
Biggest let down event didn't get shinies I wanted repeat shinies just bad
I didn't get the ticket but still had fun with the spawns and raids. I did a few Corsola raids with no luck, but I'm looking forward to hunting the shiny when I'm in Florida next month! First vacation in years for me :D

This was my first major event- I bought the ticket and played from home for the first few hours, then spent the next few at a local park. There was a lot to get through, but I enjoyed most of it. The legendaries in the wild was a major highlight, and I really hope they bring this back in some form.
The only thing I didn't like were the battle challenges with the trainers. I spent 5 hours searching for these, and only got half of them finished. It was very disappointing.
In the original Pokémon games, black, white, x,y etc... I always had at least one encounter with a legendary wild Pokémon. So it follows there should really be wild legendaries in pogo.
The battle trainers task, I only found 1 after hours of searching. I’ve contacted support and told them about that. The only task I couldn’t complete.
Hoenn tour next year and before that gofest in july
Played all day- struggled to finish all the research tasks and only found two shinies. Was more frustrating and stressful than anything....
The Johto tour was awful for me. All I got shiny-wise was a Gyarados (which I have 6 of), no hundos, no new pokemon, and a bunch of stress of having to complete tasks for minimal gain, or missing out on them completely. I already requested my money back and got a refund for this poorly organized event so I guess since it was free it wasn't too bad.
How did you request a refund, through your pay platform or thru Niantic? I’m amazed they replied so soon if Niantic. You must have had the exact right complaints. I’m wanting refunds for my family’s tickets b/c the gym trainers guys did not work in my city. You’d see them and they literally would slide down and disappear. Also, no new shinies for any of us. A couple old repeats was all. The espeon’s evolution thing got a some of us as well. It’s not a very intuitive thing to check prior to event’s end since they gave extra couple hours, only to find the whole thing is a wash due to not evolving Eevee in daylight. We live in Fairbanks Alaska so we were screwed by about 4pm with that.

a) would not address the problem, which were extensive (one was Prof Willow would appear and have a one dot text line and would freeze so I would have to restart, which happened 6 times)
b) refuse to give me a refund and give me excuses or just gift me a raid pass and say the problem was fixed
I complained directly to Apple and stated that what I paid for wasn't legitimately provided to me. I couldn't actively participate with all the glitches, restarts, freezes, etc. I bypassed Niantic altogether, which is the way to do it.

The first two and half hours of the event, I got zero shinies. It wasn't until after the guaranteed Gyarados that I actually started finding wild ones, so that was really demoralizing. I did get pretty lucky with the ones I got though, which was nice. And I feel like Niantic should really take into account weather and such with their events. It was below freezing the whole day. Luckily my mom is an angel and was willing to drive me around the city park for a few hours because I needed to hatch an Igglybuff for the dex. I didn't do most of the raids, or the trades, or any of the evolutions. I didn't see any of the trainers to be battled, which was good because I didn't want to waste time with any of that anyway. The rocket grunts were annoying enough. And I really don't think they should have tasks like the 'send a friend a gift with a sticker' one so late in the Celebi quest line. I nearly missed out on the special move because none of my friends opened gifts for the majority of the day. Also I feel like the starter we picked should have been another guaranteed shiny because all of the starters have already had com days and so did Gyarados. There wasn't anything as good as last year's Ditto and eventual Mew. I still had fun, but I felt like Kanto Tour was a lot better value for money.
Johto tour aside though, Gen 7 pokemon coming on Tuesday! That's pretty cool

8.5 hours, I went hard.... 2 shinies and they were CD pokemon... nothing off incense. Pretty disappointed with the event. I'm not expecting to get all the shinies, but 2 was ridiculous. Incense, fast catching, walking around, lures... I'm APAC, so who knows if the rates were adjusted later. It just left a sour taste in my mouth for events moving forward. I did Kanto last week all off incense from home with little effort and got about 9 shinies.
My son caught a shiny Lugia in a raid yesterday! We had fun!
Johto tour was very fun and exciting but could definitely have been a two day thing. Wasn’t stressed out like everyone else since I prioritize hatching eggs for shiny babies and my auto-catcher did a lot while I raided.
Yep, kinda agree, should been for two days, and was late because I forgot it was on, also I haven't even found Entei in the wild and couldn't do any Legendary raids because no one in my area are active, so yeah
My pokeball had issues with connection for about 6 hours during the event, made this very stressful.

I guess I got lucky cause I got 3 shiny girafarigs. I thought they were boosted by silver but after watching this video I realize they were not.
I was disappointed . We were in town for 5 hours and never saw any of the special trainers. 1 section of research had 11 pages and we could not to it because we could not get past page 2.
Normally I don't come for niantic in their golden boys comment section but here we are...
It wouldn't be so sus that you caught these, if literally everyone else I know that did corsola raids didn't get a shiny. I only encountered 5 of the "special trainers" in all 12 hours (In over 1500 raids not a single shiny corsola was caught in any of my raid groups) The johto research got stuck earn a candy with your buddy, & I myself did nothing but Heracross. Standing at 55 now & still no shiny. They really are greedy as fuck we already paid 12 bucks for a ticket. They need to stop running rigged raids where you have to pay 700 dollars to get a fucking shiny it's absolutely disgusting. At this point,, it's not a grind anymore. This game is literally a pay to win dopamine drip. They only care about preying on the mental/emotional state of the players & their wallets.
Some note: Nick, I always love your travel content. Please be safe & continue showing these places almost no other players will ever get to experience.
I totally agree that the shiny rate was was too low. Concerning Nick's affiliation with Niantic: I get why getting the shiny Corsola might come across as sus, but would like to point out that other "Niantic affiliates" didn't get one. Zoetwodots raided a fair amount and didn't get one, Mystic7 went crazy and did like 200 Corsola raids but ended up not getting one either. A player in my city's extended group got a shiny in his fourth raid (he was the only one getting the shiny). So in the end it's sheer luck with these low shiny rates.

Overall the event was underwhelming for me. I got 6 shinies in 12 hours and they were nothing I wanted. It just seems like I should have gotten more from a paid event. I'll think twice next time about paying for an event and not getting much of anything.
Same here. The Kanto tour was great, probably the most fun I’ve had with the game but this was such a let down. I only got 3 shinies and only stopped playing for about 2 hours all day
@@ChaosEmerald85 I got like 14 related to me and the ones that were new were steelix and rakoui and also entei and misdreavus and also shiny teddy the rest were ones I have and one month later I so far got 1 shiny that was in silver which was ledyba and evolved it 34 shinys in my collection in all more during sandshrew but for me the johto tour was a little bit of a letdown and the reason is because I wanted to shiny t tar also I had gold

I enjoyed the event. It was fun. Lots of fun little aspects like wild legendaries that really helped to spice things up.
My highlight was a wild shiny Entei. I took the photo & mentally prepared for it to flee, but it seemed that wild shiny legendaries follow similar rules to shiny raid legendaries. Took me six tries to catch that sucker, but I got him. Plus it was the one shiny of the three beasts I didn't have.
Mann… You were my UA-camr video ‘finale’ of this event, but sad to see you barely participated in it. Oh well, the event was indeed overwhelming. Also, compared to the past special events, shiny rates were a bit down (I catch 30-40 shinies in the 8 hours same way I hunt but this time although event time increased to 12 hours, I caught only 25). As a shiny hunter, this event was exhausting, overwhelming, and wish the 8 hour span was back with better shiny odds.
Johto tour was fun. I played for about 9 hours was fun going for the shiny corsola with friends even tho we didn’t didn’t get it. Ended the night with 16 shinies. They did pack a lot of tasks into one day they honestly could’ve stretched it out between 2 days. Was fun regardless
Took a vacation day to do it. Spent way too much money. The shiny rate could have been better. Too many completely different tasks to do. Fighting vs raiding vs catching oh my! But I got to spend the day playing a game I love with friends I have missed seeing for way too long.
I caught a shiny Entei in the wild, in my yard… before we even left the house. So trippy. I also hatched a 100% Axew while we were out. That had me gagged. 💖 have fun on your trip!!!
I managed to get a shundo Ho-Oh on my last raid and I am still currently in shock

No shinies. Not a single one of those trainers you needed for the task. I'm very, very disappointed. Should have been the whole weekend. :/
this event didn't feel like a increase shiny rate especially the regional raid. the so call high shiny rate need to have the sneasal high rate cause the rate on that Pokemon is dumb high

The only thing I wish that would have been different for this event, I really wish it had taken place during the spring. I spent 85% of the event in the car but I still had fun.
I had the worst luck this tour, and also i ended up working until 5 so i only had like 4 hours to play the event which sucked.
I forgot stared late and wish it was longer … 2 days maybe ? And it was a day where I had soooo many things to do I only played for an hour with 3 shinys so not good for me
Terrible. I am PROFOUNDLY DISAPPOINTED with the event.
Main issue was that there were a lot less people playing Pokemon Go here. Last year there seemed to be people everywhere playing the Kanto event and I found several large groups to walk around with. I also thought it was pretty "cute" of Niantic to switch out the normal incubator box with a smaller box of incubators. Made me wish I had bought more before the event started. Maybe they did it to make more incubators available for FTP trainers on a budget?
I caught all of Pokémon during the Pokémon Johto tour
I played the entire 12 hours.... and I needed about 10 of them to finish all the timed research. It didn't get above 25F, so I had to mentally convince myself to go play.
all the trainer battlers disappeared around 4pm could not finish the research not happy
ZERO Shiny's, and I could never find a "Flying Trainer".
I got one new shiny (Mantine) yesterday. 24 in all. But for the $ and 12 hours of event time, surprised the rates weren't higher. Think I felt the same after the Kanto tour though

Should been split into two days. I focused completing the legendary and trainer battle challenges first before catching Pokémon. Doing the trainer battle took at least 1 -2 hours
I skipped doing the trainer battles after the first one. It just took too much time with no good reward.
It was ridiculously busy I was overwhelmed by the amount of stuff we had to get through I really would have preferred just to hunt shinies and not achieve all these collection challenges which I struggle to do on my own especially the raids thanks niantic for stuffing up what would have been a good day otherwise and shiny rate was very low for a ticketed event.
As a ticket holder, this event was fairly disappointing. The fun and great ideas (catchable wild legendaries, second and third evolutions in the wild that also could be shiny, rare XL candy (that seemed inconsistent)) were really weighed down by the poor execution.
Shiny rates were super low (I got 8 (2 were dupes) in 10 hours of constant play), incense spawns for certain gold/silver exclusive Pokémon were really low (I had 6 Mantine spawn over 10 hours), and the Gym Battlers rarely appeared (I started playing at 9 am and found my first challenger at 4 pm, then had to wait 1.5 hrs for another to appear). Plus, there was just an overwhelming amount of research to complete that competed with catching.
I interacted with a dozen or so other players who felt the same disappointment for the same reasons.
There was a lot going on. It would have been better if it was all weekend or at least both days. I only had a couple hours after work and ultimately gave up because some of the rewards weren't worth stressing over.

I regret getting the ticket. The distance for incubators and raid passes produced 0 shinies.

I caught 15 (not including the gyrodos) over the 12 hours, only 2 were new to be but another 2 helped me complete sets of shiny evolutions. It, however, took about 3 hour in before I got my first shiny. I had fun with it, but wish it had been over two days like the Kanto event last year, I also wish it was in spring or autumn as here it was winter so cold weather. In the 30s but still that's a bit harsh for a 12 hour event even if you have proper gear on.
I played for the full 12 hous and got 25 shinies, which is a decent number. However, 19 out of those 25 were really old shinies that most active players already have (like community day mons or mons that have been feautured in research/pvp events). Only 1 (Phanpy) was new exclusive shiny for the event, 3 other shinies had existed for a while but were rare enough that I hadn't managed to catch one yet, and the last one was a wild shiny Suicune, which was very surprising!
Corsola and Heracross were so rare shinies that neither I or any of my friends managed to catch one... Very dissapointing.
Also I think there was a bit too much research going on at the same time, maybe they could have a day 2 with just the battling tasks? But I guess everyone enjoys different aspects of these events, for me personally it's mostly about the shinies.
So happy u got the shiny corsola!💗 The event was a let down for me. None of the new shinies, barely saw any remoraid but got a shiny cow so I'm happy about that. Keep up the good work and content! 💗

I really enjoy Johto Tour and played all 12 hrs. I think these kind of events are what you make of it. Your community, your location, and resources. Always run your own and race and have fun with it! PS glad you had a great get away. Adding Costa Rica to the travel list. All the natural beauty was breathtaking
Encountered 6 wild Suicunes, all fled after golden razz excellent throw, no matter if 2000 cp or 400. absolutely hated that "feature", they could've added Arceus with 0% catch rate as well to mock me, all it did was taking away berries and ultra balls...
I didn't get too concerned with grinding everything out, like collection challenges and research, I only got to play about six hours of the event, and four of those were at my house with like 6 spawns an hour. So I relied on incense quite a bit. But I just had fun doing raids and whatnot.. Not sure I would say it was worth the $12, but it could have been worse. Corsola shiny odds were a joke, I was one of the only people in our pogo group to get one, and we all went pretty hard.
The shiny rates sucks.
Happy to see you can do these type of videos again! The tour was fun, but very stressful, if you have a life. I just managed to finish all the tasks, but playing at least 6 hours.
My only beef with how my Johto Tour experience went was that I remembered to charge my portable charger, but forgot the charging cord for my phone, so I didn't spend as much time out and about as I was intending on. So yeah- this was fun! I thought the rare random wild legendary beasts that fled was a very clever touch (you didn't take a snapshot of that Suicune, though???), I got quite a few Shinies, including a Ho-Oh (and I chose Silver!), and the change to the wild encounter music was perfection. I feel like I got my money's worth out of this event, I'm already onto the Masterwork research, and I am fully prepared to rage with great gusto at how Niantic is butchering Shadow Pokémon because they don't reference Colosseum or XD even a little outside of the Shadow Pokémon being, well, Shadow Pokémon!
My very high powered bank died on me the night before. FFS.
Went strong from 8am till the end- 17 shinies(my gyarados was a hundo lol) but sadly no corsola. Did like 30 raids of it :(
I also did 32 Corsola raids and did not get a shiny... 😭
I liked that the legendary Pokemon where in the while. I was able to get my first Raikou. So I hope to see this again. I also wished that it was a two day event instead of just one day
