About the shiny swap thing (16:43), there is another condition for the new Pokémon to be shiny as well: it needs to have the same shiny odds as the previous shiny Pokémon to be a guaranteed shiny. If, for some reason, the odds of the two species differ, the new Pokémon won't be shiny (unless you have crazy luck).
So if it was a shiny chansey than that would’ve just been lucky right since the chansey rate is different but everything else during this event has same shiny rate
I’m pretty sure during the event all event pokemon have been equalized to the same shiny odds. (As long as they were advertised to be featured in the event)

I want to enjoy these events but there’s so much happening at once, deadlines because of the two-hour changes, raid Stress because I’m missing incense spawns. Forgetting eggs. Forgetting research tasks. Extended incense meant I locked myself out of the daily incense all day.
That is what auto catchers and planning ahead of time is for man.. literally most content creators made a breakdown of things you should do to prep for the event, this is a big deal for doing things right. Have a checklist of things to do beforehand, put alarms on.. just be prepared, no reason to overwhelmed unless you are not prepared.
This event seemed a lot more slow paced than usual for events like this. It's all about knowing what's happening all day and planning accordingly. If you don't live in New Zealand/Australia, you have a big advantage as you have some time to see exactly what's happening throughout the entire day.
Most adults do not have 8 hours to play on a Saturday would be nice to have it span into sunday. 4 hours each day would be excellent, first Event ever coming back since 2016 and felt like I missed out
I totally agree that it’s stressful. Research, eggs, tasks, collecting, shiny checking, catching and raids! I only saw about the 7 km eggs on YT after the event was over for me and I’m so disappointed! I guessed it would be half distance for egg hatches so had saved up a whole stack of 10 and 12 km eggs. It’s just too much to keep track of. I did have fun but nine shinies for eight hours?

I prepped, had space, caught well over 1000 Pokémon, caught enough shinies to warrant no complaints yet, the only thing I was hyped about was finally getting a shiny lunatone. I'm not normally the type to complain about what and how many shinies I do and don't get, however I was feeling a bit meh about the entire.day even though over the 3 days catching more shines that both previous global fests and both kanto and johto tours combined.
PoGO Fest Finale was insane for me as well!! I got 2 shiny event pikachu, 2 shiny Axew, 2/3 shiny monke, a shiny Karablast, and I farmed the heck out of Pheromosa (my favorite Ultra Beast). This was such a good event, but I wish I had been able to have a full, proper day to enjoy it and had planned for it a bit better. If I had known it was gonna be this good, I would have prepared so much more! GGs Nick, glad you got so many shinies this time!~

I tried that trick you did with the shiny Shelmet with a shiny Electabuzz. I found a shiny Electabuzz at 3:59 and waited until the spawns changed over and nothing replaced the Electabuzz. 😞

I play in a state Botanical Garden where I also volunteer as I am retired. Young guys playing asked if we had caught any shinies. I said yes just ahead on the path. He informed me that it won't be shiny if he goes there. I am level 45 but let it go. Later when he was nearby and on his phone, he told his friend he was watching the elderly play pokemon go and laughed. Really put a damper on my day.

We enjoyed all the global Go Fest opportunities. Even though Saturday I was lower on the shiny count than normal, we still had so much fun being out in the community. The only complaint - when you play in an area with 8 pokestops. And they decide to change the possible rewards every two hours. Those of us without a million pokestops can’t benefit from the new rewards. They need to refresh the actual pokestop tasks every two hours so we all,have a fair advantage of the new rewards. I love the idea, but many can’t benefit with limited stops.
Had a great day catching shinies and raiding with a group in our local park. Got quite a few I really wanted, lucky traded one of the monkeys. All in all a great day. Glad your day was great too.

Yeah there was definitely A LOT going on. Can get a bit overwhelming for more casual players. I ended up skipping the daily for the same reason.
