I just got my Preferred two months ago, it was my second credit card after my Discover It I got when I was 18. I got a really nice offer for a 90k points sign on bonus while I was starting to learn more about maximizing value from credit cards, and coincidentally I was about to spend $6k on a deposit for new windows and siding. I got the Freedom Flex last month, and I'm about to go apply for a Freedom Unlimited tomorrow. I'll cool down once I've got those 4 in my wallet, it's not like I've got much money to spend after dropping all my savings on new siding and windows. Gotta focus on rebuilding my emergency fund. In 2026 my savings will be totally recovered and I plan to visit Japan with some friends. Luckily, I'll probably have enough points to make my flights free!
About a week. LOL. I received a 90K sign up offer and decided to take it. I have a vacation (kinda last minute) planned for Thanksgiving to SEA. As I was going to go anyway, using the CSP should net a good amount of points.
@@KevinYang mostly all of them have good offers through the Rakuten or other portals (sometimes I use AA’s portal). I’ve used Chase offers for Factor and Blue Apron - but they are the smallest part of the stack, usually $8-$15. If you’re looking for meal kit deals then I’d go to Cash Back Monitor’s site and see who has the best portal deals. I always try to use the CSP because it gets you 3.1x back after the anniversary bonus. I have a hard time justifying a product change to the CSR because I get so many points and free food through this method.
Just recently got the sapphire preferred card. Got denied online. Decided to go to a local branch instead. On multiple of their credit cards, they had an additional bonus that was only in the branch if you applied at the branch. Better than the advertised online offers. So it's worth a check to apply for these in person.
100%! And I've heard the same! Friends who have applied in branch have been more easily approved. Sometimes the reps there will go above and beyond to help you do so (probably because they get a commission)
CSR is definitely a strong card, especially if your home airport has a Sapphire lounge! Unfortunately not the case for me, so my choice of premium card is the Amex Plat!
Just downgraded my CSP to the OG Freedom to max out those 5x quarters and to be able to use at Costco. Got the CIP with 160k bonus to still be able to transfer out.
Hi. How do you combine the Chase Sapphire Preferred with other Chase cards like the Freedom Flex to maximize your points? Any specific strategies you recommend?
At a high level, earn with the card that gets you the highest multiplier, transfer those points from cards lke the CFF and CFU over to the CSP, and then redeem through there! Either for 1.25cpp on Chase travel portal, or go through travel partners
You people and your BLING PURCHASES 😅😅 I HAVE THE SAPPHIRE also but screw the Hyatt 300 a night to save 60 bucks🤣🤣🤣I just cash out my points and use them towards car rentals flights I CHOOSE AND under 150 a night hotel stays. Besides a bed is a bed is a bed. I mean wiping out several thousand points just for a good night at some big name hotel? There are too many great deals online already to waste my time going through Chase Travel partners. And those partners are TOP DOLLARS. I will take your points Chase but you're too late in the deals deals market online

Question for you: How long have you had the Chase Sapphire Preferred? Or, is there something preventing you from going for it? 👇
4.5 years, but I'm on my second one
@@getsugatenshoFTW Haha yeah *technically* I'm on my second one too, but still just as great and important!

10 years, 3 sign up bonuses

That is dedication for any card with an annual fee. 7 years with the annual fee faithfully paid every year.
Haha yup, but for all that it's allowed me to do with my Chase points, worth it for me!
Meal kits count as online groceries for the CSP. You can stack with Rakuten and when there are additional Chase Offers.
Great point! Is there a brand of meal kits you've seen this happen for most often?

Sir, how to open a card from India?
But not document
what is your international grocery card ?
I think he would probably say Amex gold. No foreign transaction fee and it's 4x all around
@@richardworcester8256 Can Mr.Yang respond ?
@@richardworcester8256 If you read the Amex website, it states: 4X Points On Groceries At U.S. supermarkets".

never a fan of the $50 hotel credit via portal.... I prefer the CIBP.... AF can be tax deductible
Great point! And yeah even for me, I haven't been able to *easily* use that credit every. single. year.
First, thanks!
Thanks for the support!
